@@sagiplays3190 A good tip that WhooptieDo gave that I use is to also bind your flares use to scroll down, which also throttles down and just a quick scroll down in a second while maneuvering it helps out a lot but also make sure to have flares binding to another key aswell
I don't get why people call the R60 op. If you're not blind to your surroundings and know how to dodge missiles, it's not hard to deal with them. Phantoms are easily way better than the MiG-21bis in many ways.

I don’t know if you simply misspoke, but R-60’s and other IR missiles don’t give an RWR spike when you lock them. It’s not actively emitting anything for the radar to pick up, namely radiowavss. Only radar guided missiles like the R-3R, AIM-7 etc will alert an enemy player via their RWR, and that’s only because your radar is locking them, you are the source not the missile. That of course changes when we get into active radar guided missiles like R-77/AIM-120/154 etc.
BiS was in my top 3 fav planes before the patch, now barely fly it - not because of the plane, just the worse-than-bot teams the matchmaker gives me every time I fly her now. Maybe someday I'll be able to hard carry, but not today. I'll stick to my F5e and take my couple ez of kills a match xD

Like when there is a new plane, or maybe you're in a battle and you see a plane which you don't remember very well, what source do you use to read up on the stats of that plane? The stat card in war thunder is quite limited, and I have been using the war thunder wiki for quite a while (there are some quite detailed data sheets there, but many have blanks in them, especially for less played planes)

Hey, I've got a question here. I've been doing a lot of air RB recently, and I've been wondering about which nation would be most worth it to dedicate my time to. Basically, the jets that'll give me the best bang for my buck as far as fun goes. Or if I shouldn't bother and stick to the lower BR stuff. Though, I should note that I generally avoid planes that handle like a brick.
Either the US or USSR tree have the most variety of planes(that are actually competitive, sorry Britain. Half your planes are kinda suspect even if you have a lot of unique ones) just due to them making the most designs in that era due to being the two superpowers. You can get a little of everything for the jet era in either. Some turny bois, some rocket ships that cant turn/aim for the life of em, some missile boats, and a few stranger quirky planes. They both kinda have options there. If you dont care too much about the 10.7 option, Germany lets you sample both migs and sabres and g91 with a bunch of me 262 as well for lower tier jets. If you wanna get to jets quick, I would suggest France as their tree is small and most of the planes in their t5-6 are pretty good or unique. The reward at the end is great to; the mirage3c is freaking awesome. You can just kinda ignore the mirage3e until they put a new mirage behind it for the upcoming tier 7 as that plane is meh even if it still has the same godly missiles. Also you can sample several of US jets there too if you dont have the us tree. Hope this helps :D
I'd say USSR. Generally, their planes are great for low to mid altitude fighting. My favourite's probably the I-16, because it is, by far, the most manouverable little mosquito you'll ever see at 3.0.
I haven't heard of 21bis/F-4E FM changes until now. well better late than never I guess That and now that 21bis costs ~23k on spaded repair, I don't see that much people trying it out as before. mostly just phantoms and their AIM-9Js and flares

I think the MIG-21BIS will hold well against the f-111 , f-105 , F5E it is currently the best aircraft in the game and will easily hold its own if it got the 2nd stage after burner

Yeah honestly I like the current vehicles, the mig 21 is an amazing close range fighter as the r60s are very fast reacting fast locking missile, while the phantom has the good gun while the missile have an amazing pull however a long lock on time so are a lot better from range. However I find that the mig 21 is the better ambush fighter being able to sneak around so I believe the mig will be better against the rank 7s (there is a reason people still use mig21 bis to this day)
they still use it because they're poor or in a dictatorship, while the mig21 bis can probably win a dogfight it has no technology to compete against a Tomcat or an F15. And those are also retired planes.

Mig-21MF is already OP for me. I just got 4 to 6 kills back to back games. Surely Mig21bis is much much more OP.. As long as you are aware of AIM-7's, you're OP.
Everyone thinks rank 7 is coming but that simply isn’t true. All they are doing is expanding rank 6 with slightly better versions of planes we already have like a tech tree f4f.
Although never explicitly said, gaijin doesn't release top tank premium vehicles. The rank 6 premium planes preorders pretty much indicate rank 7. Honestly I think we won't be receiving enough planes to fill rank 7 right now, so things like the MiG-21bis and F-4E will probably be shifted to rank 7 to fill it (same happened to late rank 5 planes when rank 6 was introduced I think).
What's this someone besides me who see's that adding rank 7 right now is completely pointless and that theres no evidence to show its happening? Have I somehow entered an alternate universe or am I just going mad?

What are some of the best russian grinders right now as premiums or talisman planes? I am insanely frustrated with the low velocity guns and the teams usually dying before the game even really starts. I just want to get to top tier stuff for ground forces and be done with it. Would the MiG19PT be worthwhile to get and talisman? Or just Yak-38, get 2 free kills and then ... well ... next? I have no problems with any of the other nations but these low velocity guns are just something I don't enjoy - Everyone else gets vehicles from other nations but Russia? They're stuck only with those gons. Fun to face Germany without a single German plane in it ...

Missile flies straight towards the 🌞 at the beggining, I always wonder how the Gajin mechanics work in terms of missile to intercept or not... Seems still a bit broken? A missile dodge guide would be great 😏🤓 haha
Pop flares and pull the other way, if he's leading you alot don't just pull hard and pop flares because the missile will 'recurve' around your flares and won't even notice them, if you have no flares roll over 45 degrees turn slightly then roll another 45 and turn hard as fast as you can and the missile will G-lock, looks sick when you do it right.
after f14 and mirage 2k come out and mig get nerf, mig21bis become the worst jet in all warthunder, it should back 10.7 even 10.3, or gaijin should nerf aim9l and magic 2, those thing eat flare like r60 in real life
To be honest, top tier isn't as Interesting as it look like if you think too much about it. Balancing is a strange think at this tier, and basically there are 3 nations with competitive jets.
@@kalumbailey5103 nah, they're a fair bit heavier than the E/EJ, but they are certainly not bad, although the AIM-9G is very much needed for them though.
The F-4E is so much worse than the Mig-21Bis, the Aim-7 almost never track, and the aim9J only pull 2/3 as well as the r60. Plus the Mig-21 will always out manuver the F-4E
it's ok, definitely more enjoyable than the f-104g but the stock grind is painful, also no RWR, no countermeasures makes you super easy to kill if someone wants to dump missiles on you. it's slower than the other top tier mig-21s as well so keep that in mind but the airframe is slightly lighter.
No it won't. It's the same at essentially every BR. You could ask will X hold up to higher br? The answer will always be no because gaijin will never get rid of +1/-1 MM as well as never decompress.
the first thing that should come is F4J which will basically be what FGR2 is but with hopefully better Sparrows and much better IR missiles then the F-16A which should be about on par with what MiG21 BiS is then maybe by the end of the years we can start looking at F-15A and F-14A AFTER Soviets get something to compete against those two with if they rush out F-14A out ... well it will be basically what T-2 was when it came out, absolute dominance of single totally broken overpowered murdermachine

@@UUUU-dn9wz 8 missiles, F4E is much faster on the deck, better avionics, and AIM9Js are MUCH better then R60s. R60s have limited range and for flares much more often then AIM9s. BIS has better placement for flares, yes but its irrelevant the flares on the F4E are just as effective. Just need to use those flares correctly.
The problem with rank7 will be that the USA and the USSR instead of matching eachother from the 70s started to outclass the other in either quantity or quality. Performance wise its: MiG21bis, MiG23

There are some stats you can find online but mostly I ask people that test or I test it myself

It's always on second stage afterburner right now, it should actually normally be on a less powerful afterburn stage

There's just this wrong idea out there that rank 7 must mean gen 4 jets right off the bat. People have just turned off their logical thinking and are getting too carried away by getting ahead of themselves.
Then there's the slight, terrifying, thought that Gaijin bamboozles us all and do add gen 4 jets anyways. In that case... top tier will be absolutely fucked.

What are some of the best russian grinders right now as premiums or talisman planes? I am insanely frustrated with the low velocity guns and the teams usually dying before the game even really starts. I just want to get to top tier stuff for ground forces and be done with it. Would the MiG19PT be worthwhile to get and talisman? Or just Yak-38, get 2 free kills and then ... well ... next?
I have no problems with any of the other nations but these low velocity guns are just something I don't enjoy - Everyone else gets vehicles from other nations but Russia? They're stuck only with those gons. Fun to face Germany without a single German plane in it ...

But the missiles most of the times work well
Pop flares and pull the other way, if he's leading you alot don't just pull hard and pop flares because the missile will 'recurve' around your flares and won't even notice them, if you have no flares roll over 45 degrees turn slightly then roll another 45 and turn hard as fast as you can and the missile will G-lock, looks sick when you do it right.

R60M means all aspect Aim9J and AiM9L ...
If it gets R60M then US shoukd get something with 6X aim9L such as the F-16

after f14 and mirage 2k come out and mig get nerf, mig21bis become the worst jet in all warthunder, it should back 10.7 even 10.3, or gaijin should nerf aim9l and magic 2, those thing eat flare like r60 in real life
To be honest, top tier isn't as Interesting as it look like if you think too much about it. Balancing is a strange think at this tier, and basically there are 3 nations with competitive jets.
US, USSR, which is the other one? All the other nations have good options going forwards into the future.

The F-4E is so much worse than the Mig-21Bis, the Aim-7 almost never track, and the aim9J only pull 2/3 as well as the r60. Plus the Mig-21 will always out manuver the F-4E

The american sabres should've all had aim9B from when missiles were added but noooo they have to guns only against mig-21s

it's ok, definitely more enjoyable than the f-104g but the stock grind is painful, also no RWR, no countermeasures makes you super easy to kill if someone wants to dump missiles on you. it's slower than the other top tier mig-21s as well so keep that in mind but the airframe is slightly lighter.
The trauma of the grind for the R-60 will be forever ingrained into your psyche
I have it and am still in the grind to get the r60s, its extremely painful to play but with the r60 i think its worth it
Soon stock missiles will be needed more than stock FPE and parts in ground battles!

No it won't. It's the same at essentially every BR. You could ask will X hold up to higher br? The answer will always be no because gaijin will never get rid of +1/-1 MM as well as never decompress.
The Mig-21Bis should face the F-16, it will be fine for it to fight something like the F-111 or F-5E

the first thing that should come is F4J which will basically be what FGR2 is but with hopefully better Sparrows and much better IR missiles
then the F-16A which should be about on par with what MiG21 BiS is
then maybe by the end of the years we can start looking at F-15A and F-14A AFTER Soviets get something to compete against those two with

@@spray916 how is the F4E better than the bis? The bis has better flares, better and more numerous IR missiles and far better performance. F4E’s Sparrows become useless if you stay low altitude
@@UUUU-dn9wz 8 missiles, F4E is much faster on the deck, better avionics, and AIM9Js are MUCH better then R60s. R60s have limited range and for flares much more often then AIM9s. BIS has better placement for flares, yes but its irrelevant the flares on the F4E are just as effective. Just need to use those flares correctly.
The problem with rank7 will be that the USA and the USSR instead of matching eachother from the 70s started to outclass the other in either quantity or quality. Performance wise its: MiG21bis, MiG23
