Even crazier if the Ravens went on to win the title the next year with the greatest scoring and run defense of all time! But the story here is Warner. Best rags to riches sports story I know.
As a L A Rams fan since 1970 this was the most amazing football year for me & my family. I would guess for any football fan watching the Rams in the 99 season was amazing..👍
Growing up a child of the 70's & 80"s, these uniforms/helmets were everything to me...they just POP!!! The uni's they wore this past weekend are growing on me but...these were the best.
@@ssimpala1901when they played in the LA Coliseum with the Fearsome Foursome, those white and blue uniforms were my favorite, but these uniforms were a strong #2.
I just remember when Rams played for St Louis and I was in graduate school in Missouri and my colleagues watching Rams Monday night football thinking LA not St. Louis.
I'm a lifelong Steelers fan but I loved watching the Rams play when Kurt Warner was their quarterback not to mention those uniforms were pretty great too
I’m now a Washington fan but initially was a fan of the St. Louis Rams (as I’m a St. Louis Cardinals fan). Torry Holt was one of my favorite receivers as a young kid and London Fletcher is one of my favorite all time players. What a special St. Louis championship team this was
I can only imagine what it must've been like to watch this game live. How many people thought it was just a surprising performance, and how many realized that they were seeing greatness being born right in front of their eyes?
Ravens fan here. I remember being confident the Ravens could win the game as the Rams hadn't exactly been a powerhouse the year before. Like everyone else, I didn't know this was the curtain raising on the Greatest Show in Turf.
3:19 Just a tough year offensively for St. Louis. We ALL thought the Rams were sunk when Trent Green went down in the preseason. It took Kurt Warner one game to prove us all wrong.
The best matchup in Super Bowl 35 the next year would’ve been a healthy Rams team versus the ravens that would’ve been a classic and this coming from a Giants fan too. We got our butts whooped.
1 thing that Warner did that you never see anymore is drop back with his shoulders parallel to the line of scrimmage. I wonder why he did that from time to time.
3:20 "Just a tough year offensively for St. Louis" Goes on to score 526 points this season after scoring a touchdown at the end of the announcers sentence.
Warner, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game. Faulk, one of the greatest backs in the history of the game. Bruce, one of the greatest wr in the history of the game. All came together at one time. Destiny.
The short answer is that owners are greedy and Stan Kroenke is no exception. The slightly longer version is that the city of St. Louis owned the stadium, not the Rams, so Kroenke moved to the team to Inglewood where he had bought up a bunch of land. Now he owns both the stadium and the land around it and makes a bunch of money renting it out to the Chargers and concert events and such and makes way more money doing that than ticket sales for Rams games.
Also if it wasn't for the Rams Steelers would have never gotten their greatest Running Back in team history The Bus Jerome Bettis when they traded him to us so for that thank you Rams
Ezekiel 18:26 When a righteous man turneth away from his righteousness, and committeth iniquity, and dieth in them; for his iniquity that he hath done shall he die.
let's be honest the new Rams uniforms are trash. Who ever designed them and the new logo lacks imagination. It's super mediocre, I swear it was probably made by someone relative in the Rams organization who was failing as a graphic designer.
Who would have known that was the first win into a Superbowl championship year after going 4 - 12 the previous year
Would be cool if this years team can shock the world
Love watching highlights of The Greatest Show on Turf!

I was at this game for my first Rams bash in St Louis. It was magic and then continued magic there on out! The birth of GSOT!
Unforgettable Ram Era!!!
Growing up a child of the 70's & 80"s, these uniforms/helmets were everything to me...they just POP!!! The uni's they wore this past weekend are growing on me but...these were the best.
No doubt the best-looking Rams uniforms and helmets, the horns are so iconic I wish they would go back to this logo.

Greatest Show On Turf!! 🙂👍
The birth of the Greatest Show on Turf
Miss these days
Those were the days!! ❤❤

Miss the GSOT! Go Rams forever!
Sad it only lasted a few years.
@@louisskulnik7390 Yes. Still hurts.
I love this and the Rams during the mid 80's too early 90's was very hard for me. Now i feel we're always a contender every year. Horns up baby.
Let’s Go Rams!!!

Bring back these jerseys please !!!!
Ah the memories.
Bring back them throwback jerseys please 🙏🙏🙏
Marshall Faulk opened up their offensive, taking a lot of pressure away and making it easier for Warner to come in immediately and succeed.
I can only imagine what it must've been like to watch this game live. How many people thought it was just a surprising performance, and how many realized that they were seeing greatness being born right in front of their eyes?
99 Los Angeles Rams Was Best Team Ever Made Won Super Bowl Championship Thanks For Uploading
Lol dat's cold! 😂
lololol no. The 49ers and Dolphins are the only argument for that title.....
Go Rams!!! 🐏 💪🏾
Raven s fan here, I was always a Kurt Warner fan
One of the greatest teams of all time
GOTTA GO TO WORK! As we all know, "Hard Work Pays Off. GO RAMS BABY!
98-2000 were some of the best years in St. Louis.
Ravens fan here. I remember being confident the Ravens could win the game as the Rams hadn't exactly been a powerhouse the year before. Like everyone else, I didn't know this was the curtain raising on the Greatest Show in Turf.
MY BOY 😃

17 yr season ticket holder those couple years were special
Marshall Faulk is STILL the greatest football player I have ever seen. The guy was ridiculous
Not a Rams fan but they were so fun to watch. Warner, Faulk, Bruce , Holt, Proehl
The best matchup in Super Bowl 35 the next year would’ve been a healthy Rams team versus the ravens that would’ve been a classic and this coming from a Giants fan too. We got our butts whooped.
The greatest non drafted player in NFL history.
Rod Smith. But I'm biased.
St. Louis Rams. MY Rams.
THE GREATEST SHOW ON TURF

The old backpedal. Just like Dan Marino.
A lot of timing throws based on 3/5/7 step drops.
lifelong Lions fan here. Scotty checks out.
You had to know this game was going to be huge.... Gus Johnson is calling it. #LawOfGus
I wish the Rams went back to these uniforms.
Was a different game back then.
Gee I wonder why this video was created. 😎
Classic

(Week 1) Sept 12th 1999
Line was a "pick'em"
Its too bad these teams did not meet up on the 2000 Super Bowl. The great offense agaist the great defesnse.
Warner, one of the greatest quarterbacks in the history of the game. Faulk, one of the greatest backs in the history of the game. Bruce, one of the greatest wr in the history of the game. All came together at one time. Destiny.
I completely forgot Scott Mitchell played for the Ravens
4:15 Someone please tell Gus Johnson that Boise is in Idaho, not Iowa
2:48 is ray lewis okay 😂
Georgia Frontierre stealing the team from Carroll Rosenbloom's family is the main reason they wound up in St Louis.
Wasn't there a grass field back then?
2:58 dodged a homicide
Those fans were amazing, why did they move to LA? It's all freakin niner and raider fans out here.
It's usually about money.

Is that Gus Johnson on play by play?
Also if it wasn't for the Rams Steelers would have never gotten their greatest Running Back in team history The Bus Jerome Bettis when they traded him to us so for that thank you Rams
I'm not a fan of players who disown their teams. Puck 'em.
Those uniforms were SEXY.
Would trent green taken this team to the sb?
Looked like Ray was out at 252
Watching Scott Mitchell scramble is pretty painful to watch. He makes Bernie Kosar look like Michael Vick.
Y’all, Scott Mitchell was baaad…😂
Ezekiel 18:26

Ray Lewis looking lost out there
Helmets look so small
Due to the pads being bigger
@@JohnMcGuirk-mo3id no, they are round and smaller than now.
Rams not even scoring 3 touchdowns on Sunday 😂. Agent 0 and PQ about to eat
Hater

I've always said they look more like Chargers uniforms.
I'd rate Warner just behind Brady for skillset and football IQ
Mike Martz ruined it all.....
I forgot how garbage Scott Mitchell was.
Hardly. He just wasn't mobile. Mitchell threw more TD than INT, had a 4300 yard season, and got the Lions to the playoffs twice as a starter.
This team was so fun to watch
Ya it was
The play at 5:11….omg
5:00 "Perfect."
