Warner's peak wasn't long, but he got the Rams their first ring with an offense only rivaled by the 84 Dolphins at that point, and was able to help lead the Cardinals to their only appearance in the Super Bowl. A guy bagging groceries to suddenly being a superstar, falling out of favor to then rise back to the top in his career climax is fantastic. Something I don't know if we will ever see again.
The 98 Vikings broke the scoring record and finished 15-1.

I will say I understand. As a life long Ram fan (since 1966. my father since 1947). I could not believe Georgia took them in the first place. She destroyed the team, sold our stars to drove down attendance to move the team. Not to mention the hefty financial personal gift she received from the city of St Louis move the team. The Rams had half a century history in Los Angeles. I will never forgive her. Despite the move, my entire family remained faithful to the Rams and we rejoiced when the Rams won the Superbowl in St Louis. That's what loyal fans duo. Embrace the past present and future of your team. We proudly claim the 1945 Cleveland championship and 1951 LA NFL championship as well.
Kurt Warner had a legendary career. It must've made fans lose hope after Trent Green went down. But he answered the call and help start what many thought at the time was the beginning of a new dynasty.

Trent Green going down little known at the time was a blessing in disguise... I don't think he has nearly the success Warner had nor leads them to a title.
Statistically he put up 3 of the best performances in Superbowl history, the fact that he only got one is a shame. Loved watching this guy work
Those early 2000 Rams was my introduction to watching football. Greatest show on turf looking back they could have, probably should have won 3 or 4 Super Bowls. They had some heartbreakers in the playoffs.
If Dick Vermeil didnt reitre and stayed head coach we would;ve won those games no doubt in my mind :(
I agree. That 2000 team's projection stats through the first 6 games were mind boggling. They should've beaten New England in the SB and Dick Vermeil was sooo important to providing a barrier between Kurt and Martz.

As a lifelong Rams fan (even with them in LA), I will FOREVER grateful to Kurt for giving me my very first TRUE sports memory with my father as a 6 year old celebrating that Superbowl Win 🙏🏿. I'm just lowkey happy that I stuck with them through to another Superbowl although many of my family members stopped rooting for then after the move back to LA 😂

Kurt Warner’s story was so inspiring after going from working at the grocery store to being an underdog and a Super Bowl champion. He was the most underrated quarterback of all time, so he became a Hall of Famer when his career was over. Salute to #13 Kurt Warner!!!🏈🏈🏈

I am a Pittsburgh Steeler fan. And I remember when they treated him to Phoenix. And everybody was talking about him being too old. And then we played him in the super bowl. And I was scared to death of Kurt Warner. Cuz I knew that he rose to the occasion every time. You never counted him out. Look at his career. You couldn't count them out cuz he'd make you pay.❤
Great QBs look at all their receivers while they drop back or buy time in scrambling. In addition to his poise and accuracy, that's what Kurt Warner was great at.

Thank you for the Kurt content. Still need more. There is not many that can take hit after hit like he did. Such elite vision, efficient quick release, and pocket presence. Led my Cardinals further than they ever should have gone, and my dad’s Rams to some incredible seasons.
Just a few interesting comparisons to a QB today:
- Warner went undrafted, Brock Purdy was the last pick of the draft.
- Warner played his career in the NFC West, Purdy plays in the NFC West.
- The greatest show on turf fielded one of the greatest multi-threat RBs in history, a HOF OT, head coach, and receiver. Some would say Purdy has a similar supporting cast.
- In 2008, Warner lead the Cardinals to have one of the only five 1000 receiving trips in league history. Purdy is currently on pace to do the same this year.
- Warner ended his career in Arizona, where Brock was born, and Brock played in college in Iowa, where Warner was born and played in college.
- Purdy was born in the middle of Kurt’s MVP and Super Bowl winning season in 1999.
- Warner is currently one of Brock’s biggest advocates in the media, staunchly that Purdy is a talented QB.
Seems to me that both players carry a similar energy and attitude, along with similar stories. Who knows, maybe Brock can one day become something similar to Warner?

While both QBs had/have amazing receivers and an amazing RB, Purdy makes safe throws and lets his receivers do the rest. Warner was making very difficult passes that relied on perfect timing. Also the Rams offense went deep a lot more than SF

They are both operating in slightly different schemes, but both have fit those schemes about as well as possible. Purdy’s receivers also actually have a very average rate of YAC/total passing yards at 48%, ranking 17th in the league, so he’s hardly just letting his receivers do all the work.
No. Brock Purdy is a system QB hidden by handoffs, playfakes, screens, quick throws and cheap tricks. He's not in the same category as Kurt Warner.
Exactly @@Wolf_3125. Warner did those seven step drops, hung in the pocket while those deep routes unfolded, threw amazingly accurate deep balls, often into traffic and then got killed at the end of every play. As you say, no comparison

Can you imagine what this team would have done if they could have avoided the injuries in year two? My God, that offense was just UNBELIEVABLE! Warner, Bruce, Faulk, and Holt led by legend Dick Vermeil and a guy who literally rewrote the book on offense, Mike Martz! When people talk about 'building teams', this is the team I think of. It was built around that stunningly fast offense and man, it was something! They were only getting better for the next two years except for those injuries, and if fate had been a little different...? Definitely something to chew on!
He is one of the best QBs to play the game and I never knew how good he was until I watched this.

One of my fave players to watch, that year when he came in there it was crazy! Bombs all over the field and it was the greatest show on turf as they called it, incredible run.

If not for two pick six, Warner would have three Super Bowl rings. We talk about a role models, Kurt Warner is the living embodiment of that.
The way he throws it in front of the receivers as they’re running on those long passes just looks awesome. Not a football fan but his passing is unreal. Just how the receivers and him were like extensions of each other.
Kurt Warner’s arm was unbelievably good, his football mind even better. So glad I was alive to witness this.

I am a Giants fan. I was thrilled when the Giants signed him. I argued with my neighbor, who believed Warner was washed up. I didn't believe for one minute he washed up. He was the perfect mentor for Eli. What a great story, great QB and great man Kurt Warner was and is.
just finished watching the netflix movie about his life...wow amazing underdog story....love it...i can relate to him a lot for fighting for your dreams and never giving up even as age passing by....
Such a good tackle to secure that SB. That's the stuff that players and coaches know - that's a HUGE play. And there are plenty of plays throughout a game that won't get the headlines or adulation but those plays win you the game.

Kurt Warner's story is legendary splendid as well as a phenomenal one too the Northern Iowa Alumni was such smart intelligence QB winning a super bowl championship in 1999 as the greatest show on turf with Warner Faluk Burce Holt and Pace all five guys owe there hall of fame careers to the one and only legendary coach Dick Vermeil who is also a hall of famer
Even though I'm a Packers fan 1999 was some good memories and loved that playoff win over the Vikings in the divisional round good memories growing up !

It's worth noting that in both Superbowls that were lost, KW lead scoring drives to give his teams the lead in the final minutes. In both losses, it was the defenses that didn't hold. If the middle of his career weren't plagued by hand issues, we'd be talking easy top 10 qbs all time, not just HoF worthy.
God blessed Kurt and he knew it and never gave up even when men told him he couldn’t do it. What an amazing testimony.

I remeber this day like it was yesterday, my first actual Super Bowl game to pay attention to as a fucken 5yr old child, my dad took us to the local Olive Garden that actually was showing the game, and this place was going nuts, 😂😂😂 we were all glued to the one maybe 15” tv in th being ass room.that superbowl was fucken awesome to watch Warner is a fucken goat!!

To this day, that 99’ Rams team is the greatest offense to ever take the field. They revolutionized the game. Teams didn’t used to run hurry up offense, triplets, and passes to the RB as often, until the 99’ Rams did it.
His story will probably NEVER be duplicated. If someone made this story into a movie years ago, I'd watch that as a football fan like "get the hell out of here, that would NEVER happen"
