Am not even reading the negative comments. Spearfishing is one of the most sustainable way to catch fish because you catch 1 fish at a time, with permitted size and always fish that are big enough to have already reproduced. Be sure that you are a pretty ethic fisherman. Nice video, good visibility and great cobias.

getting that reaction from a couple people, I understand not everyone likes everybody but there's no denying his channel is the standard for outdoor channels right now! at the end of the day the more exposure my channel gets the more of these videos I can make and the more I can give back to my subscribers which is my goal!

You as someone who spends their life making a livelihood on the ocean is devalued by people like rob. What’s mean to be portrayed as reality through his channel is a farce. I was a commercial spear fisherman for many years in the Florida keys I owned a unlimited snapper grouper permit and let me tell you fishing for a living is extremely hard but to fish and video what you do is crazy so I feel you brother and keep up the good work. 🙏

Definitely would be awesome to see you and DMFD collaborate. You two are my favorite TH-camrs, along with his brother BlueGabe. You should try to collaborate with the latter first, he might be easier to reach and he and his girlfriend are avid spear fishermen!

Hey there Aaron. I am a native Floridian 42 years old. I would love to say that I am an avid outdoorsman unfortunately circumstances don’t allow me to be at the moment. But I do live vicariously through you guys which I greatly greatly appreciate. I have been watching outdoor shows my entire life. I have been diving with my father since the age of 9. God rest his soul. And I have been watching “Deer meat for dinner”for I would say going on about 4,5 years now. Less more lately I find myself leaning more towards “Bluegabe”His personality just seems to fit mine a little more. Which is actually the one thing everybody seems to have a problem with. But personally I think people just need to loosen up and get a sense of humor for the most part. Not to say anything negative about good old “Deer Meat” he’s still the OG as far as I’m concerned. Can’t take that away from him. Plus he’s just downright good people. Ya dig? But I mainlyjust wanted to say hi enjoy your show equally as much as both of theirs. In the same way that I get a certain thing from watching “deer meat for dinner”. I get from watching “Bluegabe” and urself. Don’t ask me what that thing is because I wish you would tell me so then we both would know. Sorry lol.but whatever it is I know it is filled with education, positivity,and motivation. and well as far as I’m concerned you are just downright good people. And I don’t know about you but I could never ever have enough goodness in my life. Just sayin. Oh and FYI I didn’t start watching your show because of “Bluegabe”I had already became a fan of yours independently of him it just so happened I was watching an episode of “Key west watermen”And up pops “Bluegabe”and “Kelly Young” Whitch tells me that I am on the right track and should confirm that for you as well. All three of you are amazing outdoorsman in your own right and of course there are other outdoor shows that I watch on TH-cam.but you guys I would say are definitely without a doubt my main staple. Another thing I’ve been wondering since before I even seen the episode with “Bluegabe”on your show is where the heck is the “Kelly Young”& “Madison”episode🤔 just saying. and I am positive I am not the only person wonderingthat I think they would get along great and there personality seems like they would mesh very well. just started watching your channel about a month ago. WOW! i am totally in your corner about what you do and how you do it- AND never back up or down to those that try to disrespect your what and how- ever. the only thing i suggest is they are the ones you would/should never vote for. i've been to key west 3 times in about the last 5/6 years and wish i had seen or known of your being because i suspect i would have done a charter with you. 78 year old texan who is unable to spearfish due to some medical issues but am capable of rod and reeling with the best of them. if i'm fortunate to get back i will definitely try to book what i would consider a charter of a lifetime. keep doing what you love to do and do it as safely as you can.

Most people who complain about commercial fishing are sports fisherman that want to sell their catch. You are 100% correct when you stated if it wasn't for commercial fishing a lot of people would not access to seafood. So, keep doing what you do, and be proud of it.

I will never forget the first 2 cobia I shot.I stoned the first but the second one was to quick and it almost pulled my arms off.they both weighted 40 plus pounds.Great video.

I left south Florida in 2022, after 35 years, and moved to the rockies mountains. I miss my speargun, my fishing poles etc.....My buddy was standing on a ship at 200' when he shot a cobia. The cobra wrapped him up. He doesn't spearfish anymore.
Your are absolutely my favorite channel. I just started Freediving and Spearfishing, learned a lot just by watching your gear breakdown vids not to mention the sick content.

I love the way you harvest fish. There is ZERO by-catch. There are no shorts being gut hooked and you dispatch the fish as fast as possible. Keep doing what you do. A fan from Lighthouse Point, FL.

Aaron your rant was so on point. I showed my wife the pictures of you guys holding up those huge cobia..She says yeah they belong in the wild not on someone's dinner table. I get it she loves nature, and so do I. But I had to tell her there were hundreds of them swimming everywhere. And there's limits and it's not something everyone can do. I lived for many years on Cape Cod, which has a long history harvesting the sea's bounty.
I worked at a seafood coop on the docks, in the wholesale department and in the retail store. Even had my own seafood store for a little over a year. Tough biz. Have done just a small amount of commercial fishing and shell fishing.
I never thought about the sustainability of commercial spear fishing before and I think you’re right about it being the most sustainable form of fishing because the diver is down there seeing the fish and choosing them individually , which no other form of fishing does. Everything from hand lining, to long lining, trawling, Gil netting, etc has no control over what is caught. Often with trawling, etc many different types of fish are caught and always there are ones that are not desirable, which are thrown back usually dead.
I’m not sure what people are objecting about your way of fishing. I assume they don’t have any idea of where their food comes from. Do a little research people. This guy is about as sustainable a fisherman as you’re going to find.

awesome channel. I live in Fl. I am one of the natives. I have never caught a Cobia. Someone else I was fishing with caught a 35 pounder following a sting ray. I have friends that would catch and release their tarpon tournament fish. On the back in through Tampa bay they would go from large marker to large marker to try to catch one. The sport utility fish Cobia.
Spear fishing is without a doubt the most humane and substantial fishery. I wish we had it here in Canada.
