It's a nice quote but I'm not sure if it is accurate in this case. People can't be expected to protect the natural environment when what they have grown to love about the space is not the nature but destructive activities, it can be just the opposite once people have grown accustomed to be able to do these things. Not saying it is the case here but there are people where I live who love to drive off-road vehicles in all nature areas, tearing the land up and drive right through nesting habitat of endangered species. And they refuse to stop. What they want to protect is their ability to keep on driving their vehicles, nothing else matters.

I adore water so much that when I told my doctor I have an opportunity to live on an Island away from stress & strains but surrounded by beautiful beaches and clear waters, he immediately replied with you must absolutely go for the same of your health, I moved a fortnight later & never regret a day of it! When I was younger about 12yrs old, a group of us had gone to a huge man made pond/lake & out of no where a boy was pushed in & everybody was laughing at him, I knew the boy had serious asthma & he wasn't swimming, he was just splashing, crying help. Now as a 40yr old I'm 4,11 so can't imagine being too tall back then, but I just chucked myself as far into the pond/lake near to him as possible and I swear to God that fish with the long nose and teeth in this video? Once I got out we all went home and my dad asked why I smelled like a car litter tray that's never been cleaned! I told him what happened and about the silly idea of a fish with teeth & my dad explained that the pond/lake I had so easily jumped in contained pike and when he showed me a picture I screamed because that was the very same fish looking directly at me when I went under.
