You mean my wife who also has things to do on the weekend?? Since I can hook and unhook the truck in less than half the time it takes to drive to glass shop, having someone drive there to give me a ride would actually create more man hours involved in getting this truck to and from the glass shop than towing it. So no, this is not a waste of time, and is actually the most time efficient option.
People who whinge about your gloves getting your truck dirty inside, have obviously not worked outdoors, or maybe only worked on a keyboard. 'S your truck, you can clean it if you want to !
I grew up playing and working in the great Oregon outdoors, getting dirty. Then I got an adult job, working in offices for 30 years. Then I retired and moved back home. One of the first things I did was help my BIL pick up some bags of potting soil from the local outdoor store. The bags were stored outdoors, and had gotten muddy. When I set the first one down in the pickup, I looked at my hands and said, "Ewww, mud!" That's when I realized I had been working indoors too long.

I would have to agree with that. Ya know at a minimum it costs in fuel. When Casey explained the monthly fuel bill is $4k made me realize it how big of a budget he needs to run the business.
Good morning Casey when you said you had to tow your truck my first thought was I hope something didn't happen to the rollback again. I hope you have a safe trip
0:35 - I for some reason watch Outback Truckers, and one of the things I like they have, is this metal/mesh guard that goes in front of their windshields. Just blocks all the rocks/kangaroo from damaging the glass.
I literally just made the exact same comment on a different comment just up the page . The kangaroo have killed a fare few drivers coming through the windscreen. The bull bar keeps them out of the radiator and the gut grill keeps them out of the cab .
You are a pretty good teacher as we can guess the steps from previous vids. Hope you stay rock chip free for summer. Calgary had rocks too which made reconditioning for auction an endless pile of windshields. Which would get cracked again as soon as the new owner drove in a blizzard.
That zip tie you got can be put on the end of rim straps. Makes it a lot easier threading your straps into the rims. Just a suggestion. Love your show.
As often and intently as I have watched all of this content over the years I believe I can officially declare myself a TH-cam expert. I am now certifiable and ready to buy a ZackLift and change to my new life’s calling😉
I am in my 60s and recently a woman told me that I can't have been a manual worker my whole life as my hands weren't all torn up like her son's hands, I suggested her son should start wearing gloves.
I was amazed I just spent 22 minutes...at 1.25 speed... watching you hook up and tow your truck. I don't know why it was so fascinating to see all the details that go into getting it hooked up safely. Love all your vids since i first found you a few years ago when some idiots accused you of copying Matt's off-road recovery and the algo suggested your vid and added you to my weekly feed along with, Matt, heavy d, fabrats, Robby Layton, Rory, etc.
Most of my 19 years in towing was in a two car carrier. I suppose the main difference was that I was towing mostly cars and light to light medium duty trucks, like maybe as high as an F550 or similar sized trucks. Doing the kind that I was doing, I found out the importanmce of wearing gloves anytime I was operating the business end of the truck fairly early when I had to pay to have the seat, wheel, shifter and door panel of a customer's car cleaned because either my hands were dirty or I forgot to remove my gloves before getting in their car to do things like shift into nuetral or adjust the steering wheel while I was winching the car onto the deck. I ended up using those wide cuffed gloves that are on and off quickly and took just about no time to remove and put back on. For me, it wasn't solely about protecting my hands, but also keeping them clean at the same time, so that also spilled over to when I was getting back into my truck, because getting my steering wheel dirty was a good way to transfer it into a customer's car or truck. Lol...They also helped when it was cold outside because grabbing freezing cold steel with bare hands really, really sucks! But yeah, wearing gloves comes down to what type of towing you're doing and for whom.
Casey ; I'm retired , every day is Saturday . I'd have been more that happy to hop in my pickup and drive you back and forth from the glass shop . You'd have to buy me a burger of course . One snag my place in northern Ontario Canada is a little over a 40 hr. drive from the glass shop in Redmond . You'd have to wait a bit .
I'll say it again. If I had a tow company, I would pay my employees overtime to watch these videos to learn things before they learn them from a mistake. I love the play by play and the methodologies explained. Even the increase in job speed would pay for the time on the TH-cam.
