I wish I had a gas stove. I’ve been stuck with this electric stove that I refuse to use. Oven or microwave. BBQ gas outside.

Appliances are build by companies. Companies are people, so appliances are their children. This means that every bolt is sacred, life begins at the blueprint. There are no high energy consuming appliances and energy efficient appliances, there are only the united state of appliances!

For over 40 years I've thought: open gas flames for stoves; that carbon dioxide has to be bad for folks in the kitchen. Turns out I was right. Next kitchen remodel I'm NOT getting a gas stove because I Don't Want One.
Yeah, there are studies showing gas stoves reduces air quality, to the point it's a concern if there are children in an area where they are being used. The pollution they generate lingers for a long time too.
As for the "time" or "control", it's not that big a deal, and honestly, induction is faster (and more efficient), and for control, you can remove the pan from the heat, like professional chefs do, if you need to drop the temps that quickly.
Today: saving gas stove
Tomorrow: gas crisis

I can not emphasize enough how much better INDUCTION electric is compared to gas or resistance electric ranges.
Better in what sense? Sincere question, because I haven't really noticed a difference as far as cooking goes.
This right here. My induction cooktop is faster than any other range I've ever used, gas included. The time it takes for cookware temperature to jump to where I want it is as fast as it can physically get. It's also the most efficient, and 100% solar powered. My cooking is zero emission (indoor and out), and doesn't cost me a penny.
I honestly enjoy induction, but we haven't gone that route because of the noise. Hopefully the amount of noise varies widely, but we're not going to switch to cast iron just to enjoy cooking.
@@clintmash245 I think it does vary. My mother and I both have Kitchenaid induction ranges and you can hear the cooling fan, but since the hood fan is on anyway it doesn't really make a difference.
Most new cookware is "induction ready" meaning it has a steel core, even if it is stainless or aluminum. I agree that changing cookware is a pain and an additional expense. I had all copper-bottom revere ware before getting induction.
@@patrickcorcoran4828 My issue hasn't been the fan/etc, but the high pitched noise. To be fair, I've only used a hob and not a full cooktop, but each pan had its own specific noise level. I usually use stainless, and no matter weight/fill they screeched along. Cast iron was fully silent, which was a pleasant surprise, but rather limiting for us.
As a veteran, I am thankful for these regards' sacrifice.

I have spent 30 years asking relatives and others in Mississippi and Louisiana about the "War on Christmas" the question is "What has changed since the War of Christmas began". I live in a house with a gas stove, and I wish the government would ban them. Takes forever to heat up and gives me a headache if I don't open all the doors of the house while preheating it.
Get a counter top induction stove. That’s what I did when I rented an apartment with a gas stove.
So if I have this right, only like 3-5 percent of gas stoves are affected. Am I right? In which case, this is just more ridiculous and embarrassing Republican distraction.

Since my previous cooktop was coil, I didn't even have to have any "upgrades", the electrician just wired in the induction where the coil cooktop was.
Clearly these people all saw the Brave Little Toaster movies and were thoroughly traumatized by them

As an Appliance Specialist, no one is restricting your gas appliances. Also, Joe Biden doesn't care if you switch from electric to gas, but your homeowners insurance company may be interested. You will also need to determine if you need conversion kits if you're using propane instead of natural gas. And finally, don't try to connect/disconnect your gas appliances yourself. Carbon monoxide poisoning and explosions from DIY hookups are not covered by insurance.
