  • It's no secret that forward facing sonar is a great way to learn about what's going on beneath the water and should help you catch more fish. However, it's a pretty intense system that wasn't really designed for kayak fishing...so we jammed them into some Hobie Pro Anglers. Because why not. Huge shout out to ‪@kristinefischer2289‬ and her friends at Dugout Bait and Tackle who put together a really great setup.     Cool setup. The only thing I would change is, use a waterproof FPV-Power 50ah v3 battery and ditch it in the rear hatch. One less hole to drill and no bulky battery in the rear. :)

    I have panoptic lenses in both my eyes. I had cataracts in both eyes and thats what the put in. No more glasses to drive either. Looking at getting me a pair of waveland's now. Woohoot!

    The fishing specialities transducer arm is no longer on the link you have but the sniper marine livescope is...would you recommend the sniper marine now instead?

    Are you using a heading sensor for your garmin? It necessitates an NMEA network, I think, plus more power wiring. Curious if you made the leap or not.

      I am not. Didn't see the need for it in our smaller lakes.

    Great set up, I have the same boat, not sure if I like were you have your Garmin located’ getting to the front hatch would be difficult when your in the water. I have my soft plastics stored in the front hatch ‘ Your electronics set up is awsome ‘ are you going to motorise it ? Torqeedo ?
    Can’t beat the Hobie 360, best kayak out there !

      @@aaanglers added a NK180s to the back of my PA12 360 .. I can go 20+ miles at 4.5-5mph and use 360 to hold on spots for fishing. It’s amazing!

    After several months of running both the regular transducer and livescope off the 12v 54amp DL… how does it hold up?

    I’m having trouble with the screw ball screw that goes into the transducer…garmins screw and yak attack screw is two different sizes

    Where did you put the Garmin steadycast (heading sensor). You do need this for finding your waypoints more quickly and accurately. Really enjoy your videos! This one was super for a fellow Hobie PA 14 angler.

      We didn't get that. Didn't have any issues, but we also didn't hit big water. Most people mount it on top of the bow cargo lid.

    Have you experienced any interference or resolution issues on running your graph and livescope to a single battery? I saw that Kristine is running two separate batteries, 1 to both her graphs and 1 to the livescope transducer because she has had issues.

      Nope, no issues. We have more than enough power with the 54 amp hour

      I have a Bonified SS107 with a Motoguide XI3 trolling motor and I am running Garmin’s Livescope LVS34 and the only battery I run is a Ionic 30 AH and I know that not enough power. That’s why I’m considering that due the
