Fully Wiring My Kayak! Garmin Panoptix Livescope Install On Hobie Pro Angler 360 Part 1

Well, we finally decided to upgrade the sonar on our kayaks... and oh boy is this a HUGE UPGRADE! We are installing Garmin Panoptix Livescope with the Echo Map Ultra 106 SV, Fisher Specialties Arm, yak power complete system AND Dakota Lithium 54 AH Battery. It's a doozy of an install, so we broke it up into 3 parts.

Just a quick fyi, those battery indicators dont work on lithium batteries. They work from battery voltage, lithium holds 12v almost the whole life of the battery and drops randomly when its almost dead. So this case would show full charge or 75% when the battery is already below 25%. Keep that in mind, they have lithium gauges most work by measuring usage the whole time.

From time to time I have had an issue with the system not turning on. That may have been my own user error though. I have never had an issue with voltage or power once it is on though.

What battery would you recommend if Im only using it for a Garmin Livescope rig? Im just looking for something that can last a day without breaking the bank, thanks!

Look up the amp hour draw of the livescope. 25-50 AH battery would be the go to. Try to get lithium. Cheapest is not always the best call. I have loved Dakota lithium and X2. You could look at amped too
