It's amazing to see the evolution of how kayaks are rigged for Tournaments, from just a few years ago. You guys get my "Master of Rigging Award" That is an awesome setup! Good Job!
Tim percy i need a trolling motor mounting plate for my old Town Predator MX. I have a minn kota Terrova 55 and the minn kota sliding aluminum quick release plate
Definitely kayaks are the way to go, boats are a pain in the rear. oil changes, buying fuel, Winter reservation, wiping down , checking for muscle larvae in live well, motor tune up, registration, insurance, etc etc etc. When I do get a yak it will be the 360 pro angler, the regular version, im a minimalist. The teeth on the Ike version are goofy just like their namesake.
@@kayakfishingsupplies would you be able to provide contact information for the company that makes the bracket under the front hatch ? Also what kind of Anderson plugs were used ?
Baddass kayak nice job! My only negative thought was, will that cable really be able to pull the trolling motor out of the water? The cable doesn’t look like it has the correct angle to do the job 1:50
Awesome job on the rigging ! Hobie probably is the Cadillac of kayaks. Would you say 14’ is NOT the norm for kayak tournament fisherman ? And the Fishing Specialties pole mount system is the best out there for sure ! I have one for my walleye boat. Kayaks are improving every year there are a lot of good mid priced ones out there. Thanks again 👍
@@Chris-zm7wh was that your best dig? Haha. You can do better. I bet it though. To a guy with the SS -127. That seems out of the realm of ever owning a PA 14. Save up. Someday you can get one ☺
I think there’s a bigger difference in price for the 100ah then just a few bucks. Or as he said “a few more dollars.” More like a few hundred. When you get kayaks that big with that much in them. Just run a standard battery. I know it’s not hip or looks cool. However $120 and $1000 isn’t worth it. Chargers are cheaper.
I thought the same thing , problem is , getting a boat for 15 k , unless its severely used , not happening , the mako 15 pro skiff is the only manufacturer that has a boat in that range new. The mako is crap cause of issues with the foam inside and the scupper holes do not work. Anything better than that , say micro skiff , you are looking at 25 grand roughly for just the hull. Hard to find anything for 15 k that is a good sound boat to buy with zero issues. Really , a Hobie with this setup , the electronics is overkill , IMO , but hey , his money , so good for him. You can do this same setup with a 1300 dollar gps trolling motor with a 100 AH dakota lithium battery and a 18 ah dakota lithium battery for a hummingbird onyx Side Imaging sonar , for about 8-9 K. Would essentially be almost the same.
@@andiiramii2775 I think in this country we live in , and specifically I mean USA. Honestly I enjoy using a kayak and pretty much doing the same thing all the 40 to 50 k boats do without the cost of fuel , without the hassle of dealing with other people in the boat if I take passengers , and lets be honest. If you buy a boat big enough for two or more , you will always have that one friend who wants to go all the time but never wants to pay for fuel or help you clean the boat afterwards. They want the fun of fishing from a bigger platform , but none of the headache to take care of it and maintain it , winterizing , cleaning the bottom , running fresh water through it , etc etc. Its a pain. Kayaks literally are very labor relaxing in that there is very little to do. Oh and the fact that more often than not , most Americans could use some exercise , me included. I enjoy taking my paddle kayak some days and my pedals others and when i feel lazy , i take my autopilot out. Its good stuff for health.
for that much money I would buy a touring Kayak (15 to 18 feet) a offshore kayak (viking reload) and a freshwater fishing boat ( moken 12 or viking profish gt) and I would rig all 3 of them and I would get a few trips....... spend your money wisely......
Not everyone has the room for boat at home, but that doesn't mean they shouldn't be able to take advantage of the latest technology. I built pretty much the same setup using a Native Titan 12, and too me its been worth every cent. I fish in this far more often than I ever did my bass boat.
You are smoking pot bro... That Kayak is only worth about 6 or 7 thousand..The Hobie is a good kayak but the Motor Guide trolling motor is a piece of junk because Motor Guide doesn't use a brushless motor... Use Minn kota with spot luck..The Garmin with livescope is only worth about $2,000..So if someone pays over $10,000 then they are getting screwed over.. Just saying!!! I can build a whole setup for less than $7,000.00
I love to watching Kayak fishing but I can tell you after running numbers including fish finder and trolling motor there is no way that boat is worth 15,000. I know everyone has probably been told this..... I've been around the boat business and including kayaks along with injection mold applications....... no way

Wowzers!!! 15 Grand on a kayak?! That person must really love fishing on a kayak.
You got that right!
Yeah. The yak is 6K. Where did all the rest go? Hmmmm
I'm glad you guys like the mounting plate. I don't have have any dealers out on the west cost, if you are interested. :) I make a few other products.

I love the plate too. Just installed it on my new PA14 360
I have pretty much the same setup with lowrance products. But i have a regular pa 14 with a marine mat.

Baddest Hobie I’ve seen yet! Nice work fellas
Glad you like it!
Looking good
Thank you! Cheers!
We need a shop like this in Vegas, kayak fishing is taking off over here!
we ship all over the country!
Quality install!!
thank you!!
I have the Ike and love it . That’s an amazing setup . I assume he has a trailer to just dump it in the water .
Yes he does have a trailer 👏
It really we were excited to put it together

Nice rig. All it needs is a micro powerpole on back and yer set.
lol yup!

this is a beautiful kayak and how its set up. But what is the part name for the cable coming out of the kayak floor for the trolling motor?
Nice setup but the bundle of cables. That’s a lot to be hanging out like that.
Beautiful placement of the bioenno battery. Looks freaking stock to come with the kayak. I love it
He wanted it like that so he can remove the Livescope mount from the kayak unfortunately it comes with 15 feet of cable
So with the trolling motor in the front u dont have to use the mirage drive anymore right.
Definitely amazing work!
Thank you! Cheers!
Genius set up 👍🏼
@8:47, What happens if saltwater gets on that battery? Seems like a nice location but...hmm?

what’s that stow and deploy part that swivels around the shaft?
We put the Ike teeth on our newer Outbacks. Made it so Bumper Bro fits and teeth meet. Good build, but too hard core for me in my current skill level.
thank you!
Nice work!
Only issue I see with short Ram arm is the Garmin looks too close to the drive area. Need to get that out of the way or you'll be kicking your unit.
He doesn’t plan on using the pedal drive it’ll be Motorguide Xi3 powered only
If he does decide to pedal it clears the unit

I bought this kayak too. I just haven’t been able to afford the motor and fish finder.
You get massive interference in the livescope when you put all those tight loops in the cable bro
no interference at all everything works great!

Battery mounting position may cause cracks/damage in that crucial part of the kayak in the transport?

What’s the thru hole fitting for the live scope extension cable?

What are those wire seals you used? Awesome video and quality work!!! Great job guys.
At that point just get a boat. It would be more efficient. I guess if you got money to burn it's a cool tool though. 🎉
Previous comments make perfect sense. 15k on a Kayak makes no sense.
Can you give the item number for the Livescope arm? Also I get about 4.2 mph with PA14 and XI3
do you have the 55lb xi3? give us a call about the livescope arm!
Retail 10 k?
Where does that kayak sell for 10 grand????
I think he meant with all those accessories.
With all due respect, I would have bought 3 PA 14's and leave stock. Or buy 2 and deck them out with essentials only. That's just me though.

This is all great but did it make the customer a better fisherman? or was it a waste of money?
