    The two vulcan teamates at the back of the pack looking at their commander with such judgement!
    They didn't even want to be here and their boss's prideful tantrum wasn't doing him any favors. I wonder who will be the first to forward a report to their higher ups.

    I just noticed that Quark's signature on the baseball has Ferengi ears drawn on the sides of the Q. That's both cute and (considering the ears of a Ferengi are an erogenous zone) a little dirty.

    Honestly the ds9 crew roasting solok to the point of irritation is genuinely brilliant. And i find it represents siskos lesson that its not about winning but enjoying the game. In the actual game soloks team won but the real victory was the ds9 crew who showed that soloks vulcan arrogance wasnt going to affect them

      It was probably because Vulcans where not important to the overall story but they wanted to make sure that that they still played apart in the star trek universe in DS9 and the easy way to do that was have them be the wrench in the engine for the occasional episode.
      Basically remind the audience there still around doing there part in the galaxy, for better or worse.

    It's really weird that this Vulcan is trying to be so demeaning to Sisko. Sisko has basically been at the front lines since the start, DS9 was the first battle of the war, he went on to be appointed adjutant to Admiral Ross and helped lead the fleet to take back the wormhole entrance, Sisko has been one of the most important people in the war, and this dipshit wants to puff out his chest and insult him for how cushy he's had it?
    Sisko's response should have been to laugh in his face.

      The thing to remember about Vulcans is that they aren't *naturally* emotionless, rational beings. Thats what they pretend. Vulcans are *innately* super emotional, super volatile. Moreso than humans. Culturally they suppress it.
      So this particular vulcan *is* an asshole. He does have an illogical vendetta against Sisko. he is bigoted, unpleasant, and a snob. He's trying to make himself appear to be a bastion of logic and rationality. But its only ever learned behavior. Vulcan's feel just like every species. They just don't express it. And those feelings include malice, prejudice, and viciousness. Just like every species.

      @@benlowe1701 I have yet to see a Vulcan in Starfleet that hasn't eventually been emotionally compromised by their interactions with humans. Doesn't always come out pretty.

    • @benlowe1701
      @benlowe1701 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@sabriam Its likely that there conflicting schools of thought even among the mainstream Vulcans as to the extent that Vulcans are compromised.
      Its never been entirely clear if Vulcans emotional suppression was actually good for them or not, or if it's just the result of generational trauma from when they nearly wiped themselves out in war. I'd go so far as to say that part of Reunification with Romulus will be the gradual acceptance of their emotions. More of a "Yes, I'm feeling angry now, and as a Vulcan I shall suppress it and behave logically." Than just a flat denial of their anger that some Vulcans seem unable to even process or deal with, much less suppress. Logic in spite of emotion, over emotion, rather than instead of.
      But maybe that's because I'm human and and the idea of repressing all emotion seems exceptionally unhealthy...
