Not many people with only a vibrant resonator on TH-cam so I thought i would chip in my experience with it. Just got this setup. It's the perfect sound for DSG. The car sounds a tad bit louder on full load but the biggest difference is that dsg burps are very pronounced under full load dsg upshift at 4k (2-3x louder). It retains its stock volume under zero load. Accelerating normally, you can hear a little bit of the growl like many resonator delete setups if you're into that. Zero drone (Just like stock volume on the highway between 2-3k), One thing I wish it had was a louder downshift. When you rev it to 4k in neutral, there's a very obvious gurgle. (If you want more of this, read last paragraph.) You know how some cars sound faster than they are with louder exhausts? I think this setup is the perfect volume for the GTI without being over the top loud. It's hard to hear in videos but I recommend it with a stage 1 uni/apr tune. Grab an OPEN air intake so you get pronounced turbo spools. Don't get the apr carbonio if you're looking for turbo sound. it's hard to hear inside your car. (maybe a small hiss but hardly any blow off. Get any open air intake for a nice whip sound blow off) I asked the mechanic to just attach the vibrant resonator without the rear muffler attached to get an idea of how the suitcase muffler delete would sound like. It will make gurgles and a couple crackles if you add enough gas. Much deeper and hum'ish burp. There's another guy on TH-cam that has the setup. I personally think it's a bit too loud for a GTI. I don't like my cars sounding louder than they should performance-wise. (Get a Downpipe like Zak if you want volume and performance!)
I have had a res delete on my 13’ GLI DSG for over a year now but have since moved into the city, from the mountains and feel like it’s too loud for this area. So I’m considering this same set up!
Yu Studios , would you consider sending me a video of how your vibrant resonator sounds? I’d greatly appreciate it! Contact me via message or email me at 22tgray@gmail.com
I just deleted the resonator and the volume is perfect but it sounds too raspy, whiny... I need a bit of a wider and deeper tone. This appears to be what I need, or the ultra quiet vibrant resonator.
ik this vid is a bit old, but did you have to take it to an exhaust shop to get it installed? if not, how did you deal with the stock resonator's inlet/outlet being offset?
It’s old, but I still exist. I did take it to an exhaust shop, I just bought my own resonator and had them weld it on. If you are handy, you could cut your own resonator off and replace it with a clamp on one or a pipe, but I’d probably go to exhaust shop. The resonator had the correct inlet/outlet I think, but this is several cars ago hard to remember
@@jamega4000 no worries. I have most certainly commented on some very old threads and videos myself hoping the OP would give me an answer, happy to help.
They're overlays. They came on the car when I got it but yeah, jut overlays. IMO that's the way to go you can pull them off if you get a fix it ticket.

Yu Studios I sold the car some time ago it had a downpipe/stage 2 etc you can hear it in a later video
I saw that as well. It sounds nice, but I really can't gauge on how loud it is until I hear it from the inside and drive bys.

@@Zakw17 thanks so much for the reply, I'm about to do this exact setup on my GTI

Is this a stock system only with a res ?
Resonator replaced with Vibrant resonator, OEM everything else
Is it noticeable compared to stock?
In terms of sound? Yes.
