Great video, Jeff! Your reaction when flinging arrows near the Garmin is exactly the same as mine. 😂 I feel a lot better with a shield of some kind in front of it!
I used the same method as this, except I zipped tied some decking planking to the tripod in front of the Garmin. It made shooting close to the Garmin at 60lbs a lot less stressful!
Easier way is to simply put the chrono 3 yrds from the target then shoot what ever distance 3 yrds further. Also allows you to block the chrono with a target because it’s much lower, You could have simply put that 3d elk in front of the chrono. This does make hyper accurate site tapes.
Have you thought of finding a Lab radar and comparing them that would be an awesome video! I have been trying to do this to make my site tape. I am stuck cause I don’t know if I should buy the garmin or the lab radar. I like the lab radar cause I will measure all the distance from the point you are shooting from but the garmin is new and might be more accurate but you have to do what you didn’t in the video and I don’t necessarily want to do that. Do you have an opinion on if the lab radar is a decent choice and also reason I have not just bought a lab radar is that maybe in the future garmin with come out with one or update the one they have to be able to measure all the distances from one spot. Great video thanks!
I going to be doing this soon. I’ve read where people are putting the garmin on the stock tripod on the ground with a target it front of it. Then shooting at a target say 70-75 yards away and getting the results needed without shooting at the garmin itself.
You can change line density, add or take away single yd marks, change the colours of the lines For single, 5, and 10 yd markings to get the tape looking exactly how you want.
Hey Jeff, great video. You never even tried to sell us a Garmin jk, but I see you use peak design stuff for the tripod mount I use the long camera neck strap as an adjustable bow sling with the little red tabs works a treat specially if you have camera and hunting stuff to bring everywhere Ps every time I tie a d loop I pull up your video to get the last not done correctly so thx
I have the garmin. If i shoot 6 shots over it , i get 4 to maybe 6 different speeds. How do you do that ? Average. Or do you shoot one time and call it good
