Pulldowns/pullups using an underhand grip are excellent for the upper bicep. Just try to use arms instead of back. Vary the width of the grip to hit inner, outer, or both heads. I would always train at Vince's gym in Studio City every summer when I came out to California to visit. He was quite the character. Once I really got to know him, I used to tease him about his lack of glute development. His physic was absolutely insane. He was as lean as you can possibly be with muscle. Who has abs that go all the way up to their pecs like his? There are certain rules that will never change and Vince perfected these through trial and error. I'm certainly buying all of his books. Wish he had much more literature.
Amazing what he says about elders being revered in other countries, but not in the USA. A Cuban-American friend of mine once said, "In the United States if you're over 40 you might as well be dead."
tried eating 12-18 eggs a day and boy i was gaining even at calorie deficit. i had people asking me "hey man what are you taking?" i did a weekly refeed of carbs though i do feel like it wasn't necessary as i felt like shit eating carbs and didn't look as good.
Sreemon Acharya yes! It’s fine cholesterol in eggs precursor to testosterone. Worth a try for like a month. Not as bad as people say it is. I got bloodwork through privatemdlabs and it actually lowered my ldl.

I tried several different methods. I stumbled upon 8x8 I am really excited about it. I am going to seriously give it ago. I am also confused about the diet plan but I heard vince was on eggs and steak diet. I'm going to give it a shot. and do everything vince did!!!
great vid on Vince. I met Vince in the late 70's at his gym. By today's standards, his gym had few pieces of equipment, as I remember. I was told that Vince was strong, when he could clean and press two 75 lbs. dumbbells' 10 times standing. He was one of a kind.
+ken wilson Thank you....yes, he was one of a kind. His videos get so much attention still due to his unique qualities and the way he changed the world of bodybuilding. He was a man WAY ahead of his time. CC
This hit home 8 years after it's posting. I'm know desperately looking for tried and tested methodologies that actually work. This has convinced me to revisit Vince's teachings...so glad this popped on my timeline
Loved the video, called your gym at that 810 number, then I realized this video is 6 years old. If you really did train with Vince and are training here in Michigan, would love to get in touch.
wow truly blown away I'm 430 pounds and I really want to change and with all this info I really want to use but I DONT know where to start I feel like a prisoner in my body can someone help me get started!!!!
+James Conley Just start with SMALL changes...not like stuff on the TV shows. Replace one small bad habit with something new each week. Give things time to stick. Build up slowly. REAL progress takes time, patience and persistence. If you want it to work for the long haul, you must be willing to make small sacrifices. Walk more every day. For weight loss, that's one of the biggest things you can do. Second, substitute water for most of what you drink every day. Just those two things alone will yield HUGE results in just 30 days. Once you see weight come off, you will feel better and be even more motivated. Hit the gym 3-5 times per week and do total body workouts. I don't care what you do exactly, just get to the gym and move your body for 60 minutes. Check back with me in a month if you've given some of this a go!! Stay Strong...Coach Chris
You can do it James Conley! Do what C.C. posted it's a good start. But you just have to start! Try going on a strick Keto diet, it may be a bit tough at first but if you stick with it your wieght will come off! Good luck & keep us updated.
I don't know what you've done since posting this but start eating right go for lite walks and as it gets easier to move start lifting and intensify your walks to jogs then to spints and you should see results in about 2 to 3 months.
i agree with this video and the information. the only thing i have to add not taking anything away from vince the trainer is that Jack Lalane was the true first one with this information. i know as i have all his viideos and lectures. JacL lalame was the best.. but vince is awesome also.
I’ve started reading up on The Iron Guru and I have to say this man was a Guru. This is my first time watching your video, would you be able to do a breakdown on how we should eat according to Vince? Especially for those of us who’ve let ourselves go. Thank you for the video
No fruits or veggies in the Rocky Mountains? Many native fruits naturally exist in the Rocky Mountains, including bright red wax currants (Ribes cereum), which have delicious, tart red berries, serviceberry (Amelanchier alnifolia), boulder raspberry (Rubus deliciosus) and red elderberry.
Listening to the advice of a true sage, Vince Gironda. This man was ahead of his time! Interesting narrative to listen to. He preached that fitness is 85% nutrition! Imagine that! :)
I bought Unleashing the Wild Physique back in 1987. His ideas were thoughtful and unique. He deserves more credit. I think he would be somewhat happy with classic physique.
Absolutely, Vince Gironda's knowledge and insights have been a blessing to many in the fitness community. His legacy lives on, and we can all continue to learn from his wisdom. Thanks for acknowledging his impact!
He didn't have to win a contest. Look at how he looked. His words and methods and regimens are being repeated and retaught from what he said and did 50 yrs ago.
Sorry, but they didn't prove what Vince was selling. Yes, eating after your workout is important. But the window of time the research indicated was something like 4 hours, not immediately after working out. No evidence exists that eating right after working out is beneficial... regardless of what Vince said.
The only benefit for right after workout is that carbs are much more likely to go right to replenishing lost glycogen than getting burned or stored as fat. That's the window that closes after over an hour.
Yes he was brilliant. But YOU are still your best trainer. But if you don't want to become an expert in this business....just take a moderate approach and you will do well. Moderate effort moderate poundage moderate reps moderate frequency moderate protein etc. Actually I make my best gains by sticking with a moderate program.
I add egg whites to whole eggs never egg whites alone say 4-5 eggs with 3 egg whites. does it matter if they are organic or anything. same for milk i drink 2% milk all the time maybe add up to 1 liter a day on average. should the milk be organic also?
Can anyone give me some advice on liver tabs I've colorectal cancer and going through chemo and radiation. Am I able to take these tabs for wieght gain and build blood ???

What brand of liver tabs are you using? I don't know much about liver tabs. Always used milk thistle, choline and insitol. I would like to try out Vince's methods/ideas.
+Jose Villalobos He was totally OUT of the Box! I can't say I agree with all of his theories but he was super smart and highly educated...his methods weren't just by chance :) CC
I was part of the Gold's bodybuilding culture of the '90s, and people thought Vince was a dinosaur. We had our latest issue of Flex and Arnold's Encyclopedia of Modern Bodybuilding and trained with Dorian Yates 4 day split. The thought of drinking whole cream or more than three egg yokes seemed nutty.
Amen to the brother who spoke these words of knowledge - the principles of life do not change, and we would be wise to listen to those who have struggled before us. Amen.
I love Vince's methods and am a big fan,,,,,,,,,the only thing that confuses me is that he does contradict himself in some regards, such as ,in a few of his programs he says you need to work each muscle 3 times a week such as his 10,8,6,15.......but is adamant in other programs not to train a muscle more than twice a week,,,,,,,also not everyone can eat that much protein and not much veggies as the lack of fibre can leave you constipated, and strain your kidneys, as happened to me from eating alot of protein over many years.
Hej man i dont know how to thank you. This is upp to today the best video on youtube about body building. I'm curious to know what would Vince say about doing cardio? Did he do a lot of cardio him self? His body looks like a guy who's been doing cardio training a lot.
Vince kicked me out of his gym and told me not to come back because I did not want to do the neck press, I preferred the bench press. He yelled at me in th gym and said it was a useless movement.
What kind of Liver tabs should one take? I m from India and trying to loose weight. I am also type 2. One snag here with me is that I dont eat meat. I can consume eggs. How can I incorporate and follow this? Thanks
There are many Liver tablets/supplements on the market...you should do your own research but this one seems legitimate: www.radiantlifecatalog.com/product/radiant-life-desiccated-liver/superfoods-supplements
In order to lose weight, you MUST cut out simple carbohydrates, increase water intake and maintain a healthy protein and fat diet. That means little or no bread, lots of vegetables and salads, no sodas, no candy or desserts, some fruit that fit your type 2...low glycemic fruits. Beans are a great protein source and there are many varieties and they taste great on salad. Consistency over time is the key to seeing results. A few weeks of dedication won't cut it. You need several months in a row to really see progress. CC
You like it or not Vince is responsible for 80% of the methods which you are doing today. 10 x10, Bro Split, basic idea of Heavy Duty which later Arthur Johns took way farther, 8 x 8, R & P and dozens of other ideas which other people claim as theirs.
Did he had a cardio protocol ? With the steak and eggs diet? Like today doing cardio pm empty stomach and taking carnitine and Yhombine pills for max fat burning?

Who has abs that go all the way up to their pecs like his? There are certain rules that will
never change and Vince perfected these through trial and error. I'm certainly buying all of his
books. Wish he had much more literature.
He was amazing. At some point we will make part 2 for this video.....stay tuned. CC
Etch Lopez huh his abs are genetics one of my abs do that to
I know u guys won't believe me, he was my grandfathers cousin, I met him 😀
Very cool!
Atlas_ 195 good for you wtf do you feel the need to tell people you will never meet??
I think I'd brag a bit too...
Same lmao
That’s awesome bro!!
One e greatest bodybuilding minds ever. Arthur Jones, Mike Mentzer & Vince get very little credit for their contributions to the iron game. Sad.
Amazing what he says about elders being revered in other countries, but not in the USA. A Cuban-American friend of mine once said, "In the United States if you're over 40 you might as well be dead."
Im affraid this is now spreading to the rest of the world
tried eating 12-18 eggs a day and boy i was gaining even at calorie deficit. i had people asking me "hey man what are you taking?" i did a weekly refeed of carbs though i do feel like it wasn't necessary as i felt like shit eating carbs and didn't look as good.
Atrix xira did u ate whole eggs???
Sreemon Acharya yes! It’s fine cholesterol in eggs precursor to testosterone. Worth a try for like a month. Not as bad as people say it is. I got bloodwork through privatemdlabs and it actually lowered my ldl.
Atrix xira Thank you for the information..... god bless u wid lots of gains💪☺️
This guy was way ahead of his time, what a legend. Thanks for the video
R.I.P Vince, true legend☝
People love the guy...comments all day long :) CC

Interesting about the HCL and high protein/fat morning jumpstart. I believe Poliquin recommends both as well. Great documentary.
Everytime people ask me who is Vince Gironda I reply with one word " Legend " I've learned more from him then I've ever had in the past 2 years from anyone else... ive been learning all the methods from Vince and I'm currently 18 years old, people think that it is pointless learning all the advice and methonds from Vince.. I PROMISE to prove them wrong when I'm the top of my bodybuilding, the person in thanking and giving a tribute is Vince! Rest in peace Vince. I will prove thousands of people wrong for you!
Thanks for commenting
I read his book. Awesome. I tried his flat bench neck press for chest and I could feel the stretch.
+Nitiraj Daby Very cool. Good stuff :) CC
Thank you for sharing these insight of Vince, bodybuilding is truely in debt to Mr Gironda, the 'iron guru'.
+Graham Clarke You're very welcome!! CC
+Criticalbench please help I really could use it
Im 19 and overweight and unhealthy. I bought The Wild Phisique by Vince, and I feel like I have unlocked anctient forbidden knowledge that has been hidden since the 40s or something! I have already noticed results where other methods failed. The culture definitely changed.
Once you start to train accurately life will be different for you 💪 stay well friend.
It's expensive that book isn't it
@@costelstan5279 Not at all. I think I got it for like $30
I tried several different methods. I stumbled upon 8x8 I am really excited about it. I am going to seriously give it ago. I am also confused about the diet plan but I heard vince was on eggs and steak diet. I'm going to give it a shot. and do everything vince did!!!
Give it a try...you only learn by doing. CC
Israel Gomez I'm starting the 8x8 plan and steak and eggs diet. Did it work well for you?
How that go?
Vince is always the best! Forever legend! Looking forward for part two! Thanks for the share!
+raymond mak Sure...our pleasure. Part two will be out in a couple weeks :) CC
great vid on Vince.
CC
do you have more storys to tell about vinces gym?
Vince was extremely stressed out all the time over his son. When the gym closed, I think that was the icing on the cake. He was just worn out.
This hit home 8 years after it's posting. I'm know desperately looking for tried and tested methodologies that actually work. This has convinced me to revisit Vince's teachings...so glad this popped on my timeline
Awesome!
14:21 Gironda IS the Van Gogh of bodybuilding.
This is the most educational video on nutrition ive ever found on YT
Thank you for the kind words. We love sharing tips that you can add to your workout routine. We'll share more so watch out for them 👍

would mixing whey protine powder in whole milk add enought fat to absorb the protine?
What's a good brand liver tablet to take? There are so many I'm confused
Vince was the real mr. olympia
Greetz from Germany
Thanks for a great video! Glad I stumbled on to it & your TH-cam channel. Awesome tribute to V.G.
What brand of liver tablets do you take, I'm researching?
Thank you for sharing this short documentary, I really enjoyed it!!
+Criticalbench awesome
I'm about to start intermittent fasting
Meat egg water
I LOVE THIS SO MUCH. IM NEW TO HEALTH AND THIS IS WHATS NEEDED
Awesome!
@@Criticalbench how many workout plans he had
I'm not a body builder, but I use these methods to keep myself in shape for jiujitsu.
Fantastic ! I always come back to him ! A true legend
This man’s mind is such a blessing
Absolutely, Vince Gironda's knowledge and insights have been a blessing to many in the fitness community. His legacy lives on, and we can all continue to learn from his wisdom. Thanks for acknowledging his impact!
Awesome vid! Can someone pls share part 2??
hey man thanks a million times
excellent voice and content
+javier lombardo Thanks so much! Part two will be made in the next few weeks...more content about VG :)
Thanks for the info and workout.
I'm definitely going to give this a try.
👍👍👌
Any time!
He didn't have to win a contest. Look at how he looked. His words and methods and regimens are being repeated and retaught from what he said and did 50 yrs ago.
Exactly
The natural way is the only way for me. No drugs or any of
that garbage. RIP Vince!
Which liver tablets do you recommend?
Yes he was brilliant. But YOU are still your best trainer. But if you don't want to become an expert in this business....just take a moderate approach and you will do well. Moderate effort moderate poundage moderate reps moderate frequency moderate protein etc. Actually I make my best gains by sticking with a moderate program.
Excellent. Excellent.
. . . and you avoid unnecessary injuries that way, no doubt.
Great video! Vince was way ahead of his time and the older I get the more I realise his way works! Thanks
I add egg whites to whole eggs never egg whites alone say 4-5 eggs with 3 egg whites. does it matter if they are organic or anything. same for milk i drink 2% milk all the time maybe add up to 1 liter a day on average. should the milk be organic also?
Can't wait for part two!
Coming soon :0 Thanks! CC
Thank you for this, great information, I still follow his methods, so always looking for more...awesome video!
Thank you!
I am sure he was well versed and far ahead of his time in diet and training but do people really think Larry, Don, etc. were natural?
Can anyone give me some advice on liver tabs I've colorectal cancer and going through chemo and radiation.
Am I able to take these tabs for wieght gain and build blood ???
I started using his workout methods
But my diet 😣 is way off
Need to educate myself 📚 with Vince’s diet 🥩🥚🥚
Thank you 🙏 for sharing this priceless information 🤩

What are the compound exercises that also targets the abs?
My god he knew these truths way back then
Thanks for watching
What brand of liver tabs are you using? I don't know much about liver tabs. Always used milk thistle, choline and insitol. I would like to try out Vince's methods/ideas.
The Best Trainer Ever!! The Iron Guru... Thanks
You're very welcome!
westy thank you, this is amazing you truly effected me deeply .. here's to true longevity
Thank you very much for listening! We've got to make part 2...yes, there is a part two!
Nice,bring Vince back!
+devilu18 Did they freeze his brain? hahaha! Thanks for watching. CC
some would if we could.
Great methods but I feel his diet methods need to be adjusted to the individual.
+Jose Villalobos He was totally OUT of the Box! I can't say I agree with all of his theories but he was super smart and highly educated...his methods weren't just by chance :) CC
Doesn't high alkaline state prevent cancer? You mentioned acidic state is best. Love to hear some feedback.
Would be nice if Rheo Blair's protein was still available.
haha....yeah, some of that old school muscle building stuff was pretty hardcore :) CC
Ironmind has a copy of their original formula.
That’s awesome 👏 thanks for sharing this!
Amen to the brother who spoke these words of knowledge - the principles of life do not change, and we would be wise to listen to those who have struggled before us. Amen.
Amen!
I always feel good after eating eggs
Great piece!! Well done!
Thank you!
Thanks for watching
Love this! But I can't find part 2
Good solid work!!! Will send you a message in your private box about some diet issues I'm interested in. Take Care...
Thanks for watching. CC
How do you get vitamin c ? Is it ok to do this diet with some fruits and veggies just not much
You can get Vitamin C in many fruits and vegetables.
Lots of vit c in the liver
@@costelstan5279 so why did sailers get scurvy from not having fruits with Vit c?
Hej man i dont know how to thank you. This is upp to today the best video on youtube about body building. I'm curious to know what would Vince say about doing cardio? Did he do a lot of cardio him self? His body looks like a guy who's been doing cardio training a lot.
Do you need to count the liver tabs towards your calorie count, while doing meat and egg diet to get shredded?
I would say, no, do not count those towards your caloric intake. What little extra calories you get from those aren’t going to impact you greatly.
Vince kicked me out of his gym and told me not to come back because I did not want to do the neck press, I preferred the bench press. He yelled at me in th gym and said it was a useless movement.
Sorry to hear that.
Believable. That was Vince. No sit ups. No soup for you. Get out.
Can the diet apply to boxing training?
CC
+Criticalbench very true I'm 6'7 300lbs an I've been following VG for a yr now an it's great
Great video! Where do you buy liver tabs n glandular? What brands? What HCL do you buy?
Ive seen liver capsules on amazon
Beef liver supplements?
You like it or not Vince is responsible for 80% of the methods which you are doing today. 10 x10, Bro Split, basic idea of Heavy Duty which later Arthur Johns took way farther, 8 x 8, R & P and dozens of other ideas which other people claim as theirs.
GREAT video, people have stopped thinking for themselves ..
question! ?!? what book is out about vince and his workout and meal planing so I can read it and learn much more??

Did he had a cardio protocol ? With the steak and eggs diet? Like today doing cardio pm empty stomach and taking carnitine and Yhombine pills for max fat burning?
He hates cardio (I read that he can kick out from his gym if someone said "jogging")
