    Vince had me on a bunch of supplements, I took and did whatever he said, a dozen fertile eggs a day a couple quarts of raw milk and a pound or so of very rare steak..One day I went up to him and said..Vince I don’t mind the diet but I’m really getting tired of swallowing 12 raw eggs everyday..He looked at me totally pissed off and said..You fucking idiot, put it in a blender with a banana....If you didn’t mind getting yelled at he was the greatest..

    I've encountered the "that old school way is out of date" mentality frequently but none of the jokers who say it have ever had 25% of Vince's physique. I don't agree with Vince on everything but I acknowledge that he clearly knew what he was doing and he trained champions, I also acknowledge his contribution to bodybuilding and health.
    I'll take a Steve Reeves or Vince Gironda over any of the bloated drug monsters and freak shows of today.

      "Out of date" is such an amateur/novice thing to say. There is knowledge in EVERYTHING we see from the past. I sweat some of these new trends are dumb, and unhealthy. I agree with YOU! 💪

      You are certainly a very intelligent orator.
      There is one well known bodybuilder who did the opposite of all of vinces training principles/methods and dietary principles and yet still managed to build a muscular, asthetic physique.
      His name was Serge Nubret.
      His dietary methods were the complete opposite of everything Vince taught as were his training principles/methods.

    You guys have to believe me I swear to God, I am 40 diagnosed with type 2 diabetes last April had high blood pressure from last 3 years left with 2% testosterone level in the body lost 30 kgs due to diabetes joined the gym July 2018,follow food plans and advice from so-called bodybuilding and fitness guru's on youtube. successfully control sugar level and gained weight but not good lean muscle,than come across Vince's methods February 2019 and I can't believe myself what I gain in 3 weeks, with only Egg, meat and water diet and 6x6 routine in gym(i can't get to 8x8 so far), my blood pressure disappeared (don't know why Drs say egg n meat cause hypertension), blood sugar stays at 100-125.testosterone at 40% thanks to Vince. Really the old is gold.

      Yea every youtube channel and health advocate always tries to push the high cholesterol narrative. But nobody ever studies or examines the statistics of people who actually eat 8 eggs a day.
      If it works find out how and why. Dont just read the nutritional brochure

    • @Dexatron
      @Dexatron 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @Seeing Through Ive been eating 5 eggs a day for years now and my cholesterol is immaculate. If you know the SCIENCE behind it, its because eggs are equal parts HDL and LDL. HDL cancels out LDL (HDL being the good cholesterol). As long as your cholesterol is in good shape before consuming the eggs, they will not cause poor cholesterol on their own. Its really simple science. The problem is the average person eats like a damn pig and doesn't care about their health the way we do, and they consume eggs on top of a high cholesterol diet making their HDL/LDL balance to be way out of wack.

    This is absolutely amazing, my father in law was a follower of Vince, I met him when I was 15 and I met my future wife who I am still with 47 years later now. I followed his advice and now I am 62 and have a very nice physique and look like a 45 year old, I am ridiculed by many of my fellow “body builder” associates but I am having the last laugh because I still work out 5am for an hour before work on a building site and they have given up years ago with injuries and being fat. So once again we’ll done for putting this information out there 👍👍👍👍

    Pulldowns/pullups using an underhand grip are excellent for the upper bicep. Just try to use arms instead of back. Vary the width of the grip to hit inner, outer, or both heads. Take care not to use too much weight because it is easy to build too much mass with this exercise. Incline dumbbell curls are excellent as a peaking exercise for that jagged plateau portion of the upper bicep..

      Our dispicable government through the USDA proposed the food guide pyramid. Because sugar consumption was already on the rise and waist lines and diabetes became more common, the USDA came up with the food guide pyramid. Since fat makes you fat they thought, they waged a war against it and pushed heavy propaganda against foods like eggs and butter. Our government is very good at pushing propaganda through it's so called unbiased media. So they linked the natural fats contained theirin to heart disease. These Bodybuilders way back then knew more about nutrition and fitness than any geek white coat wearing, health degrading, drug pushing pricks called drs. Dr Atkins pushed to fight against the food pyramid and but was highly ridiculed and laughed at. Todays modern day ketogenic diets and its low carb variations were put on the map by Dr. Atkins. Knowledge of these low carb diet existed before Dr. Atkins but Atkins widely educated Americans on this method of eating. Sadly, after battling the gov agriculture stooges, who crusaded against Atkins, won that era. Dr. Atkins helped thousands of his patients in reversing diabetes, and obesity. I wish the man was alive to see his good work finally being rediscovered and followed.

    I would always train at Vince's gym in Studio City every summer when I came out to California to visit. He was quite the character. Once I really got to know him, I used to tease him about his lack of glute development. He thought squats gave you wide hips and big butt, but he looks like he slide down a hill on his ass, and it disappeared. I remember asking a cute girl in the gym if a muscular butt was a turn on for women, she said of course. I looked at Vince and just smiled, and he got a good laugh out of it. I miss that guy, he helped me put on quite a bit of muscle, and always remembered me every summer I came out.

    • @Criticalbench
      @Criticalbench  8 ปีที่แล้ว +15

      +James Conley Just start with SMALL changes...not like stuff on the TV shows. Replace one small bad habit with something new each week. Give things time to stick. Build up slowly. REAL progress takes time, patience and persistence. If you want it to work for the long haul, you must be willing to make small sacrifices. Walk more every day. For weight loss, that's one of the biggest things you can do. Second, substitute water for most of what you drink every day. Just those two things alone will yield HUGE results in just 30 days. Once you see weight come off, you will feel better and be even more motivated. Hit the gym 3-5 times per week and do total body workouts. I don't care what you do exactly, just get to the gym and move your body for 60 minutes. Check back with me in a month if you've given some of this a go!! Stay Strong...Coach Chris

    Sorry, but they didn't prove what Vince was selling. Yes, eating after your workout is important. But the window of time the research indicated was something like 4 hours, not immediately after working out. No evidence exists that eating right after working out is beneficial... regardless of what Vince said.

    • @zerrodefex
      @zerrodefex 20 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The only benefit for right after workout is that carbs are much more likely to go right to replenishing lost glycogen than getting burned or stored as fat. That's the window that closes after over an hour.

    Yes he was brilliant. But YOU are still your best trainer. But if you don't want to become an expert in this business....just take a moderate approach and you will do well. I love Vince's methods and am a big fan,,,,,,,,,the only thing that confuses me is that he does contradict himself in some regards, such as ,in a few of his programs he says you need to work each muscle 3 times a week such as his 10,8,6,15.......but is adamant in other programs not to train a muscle more than twice a week,,,,,,,also not everyone can eat that much protein and not much veggies as the lack of fibre can leave you constipated, and strain your kidneys, as happened to me from eating alot of protein over many years.

      There are many Liver tablets/supplements on the market...you should do your own research but this one seems legitimate: www.radiantlifecatalog.com/product/radiant-life-desiccated-liver/superfoods-supplements

    • @Criticalbench
      @Criticalbench  8 ปีที่แล้ว +8

      In order to lose weight, you MUST cut out simple carbohydrates, increase water intake and maintain a healthy protein and fat diet. That means little or no bread, lots of vegetables and salads, no sodas, no candy or desserts, some fruit that fit your type 2...low glycemic fruits. Beans are a great protein source and there are many varieties and they taste great on salad. Consistency over time is the key to seeing results. A few weeks of dedication won't cut it. You need several months in a row to really see progress. CC
