GIRL, I love this! My husband and I just bought a house a few months ago, and floors are all different. It's wearing me out, but as you said, flooring is expensive. I am SO doing this. I just wish I had seen this before I bought furniture.😅 It's okay, though we will make this a weekend project and get these floors uniformed. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sharing.
Sister Mimi... It's stunning! My interiors are black and white so I love the color choice! I am thinking of painting the floors in our house as well after my husband received a quote of 15k to get new flooring. Thanks for sharing. Can you give an update a few months later on how well the paint holds up?
Just beautiful. I've been thinking about painting my kitchen floor for a couple years now and after watching your video, I'm going to do it! Thanks for the inspiration❤
The floor looks great!! You had answered someone else with the color of the floor but there are many different black colors listed for their product, Jet Black, Blackbird, Raven Black, Carbon, Blackout, and Tar Black all in the black tones. Do you remember which one you used on your floor? The video makes it look more slate-like. Thanks.
Thanks for watching. I take a quarter size of liquid Ivory soap and mix in a bucket of water. My flooring has been easier to clean with the paint. Good luck
So did home depot at the black color? Or was it pre-tinted? I painted my bathroom slate floors 4 years ago and added sealer after, but it has just started having some wear off. I think an epoxy seems like a smarter choice. Looks great too! Awesome work and thank you for creating this how to guide. Kitchen floors here I come!
The color was in the material. I did not add. The only concern is the instructions state do not add water or cleaning products to your floors for 30 days after application. I did not wait and i have small areas that i tested laugh out loud (instead of adhering to the direction ) where paint started to wear. Otherwise its been great. Good Luck
❤The floor is absolutely gorgeous. I have the same issue with my floor. It’s tile is different textures and I’m completely just unsure of what to do but this right here is beautiful and gorgeous please what color did you use? I absolutely love it.
What a gorgeous transformation. I'm curious as to how durable it is. Was there any damage when you put your table back? I'm nervous about moving my furniture back and possibly damaging the paint. Any updates on the durability would be great.
It has held really good. The direction stated wait 30 days before placing water. I couldn't wait and tested the floor with cleaning products after about a week. In the tested area some paint was removed. But now its over 30 days and the floor is great. New chairs and table no scratches on the floor from moving furniture and I haven't sealed with anything.
I have been looking for a way to cover my multicolor slate floors and this is absolutely gorgeous. I don’t see the link for the black paint you used in the description box. Can you please add the link😊 thanks so much

Hi Mimi!! Absolutely gorgeous!! What a great and fabulous result. Great inspiration and thanks for sharing the process with the products used in the diy. The transformation is soooo beautiful.
Hi Debra. I used a satin finish. initially wanted a flat. However it wasn't available with the home depot brand. I glad I used the satin finish. They look amazing.
Hello Queen! 😮What a magnificent makeover. Your floor looks like Beautiful Black Leather. Excellent choice! Thanks for sharing all of tips. Gorgeous. Your kitchen pops even more. I look forward to seeing the pops of color.
What kind of primer did you use? The link in the description goes to Kilz, but the paint can in the video looks like a different brand. Thanks for the great video!
Thanks for watching. I reced the information from the painter. They purchase material in 5 gallon but will transport smaller amount to 1 gallon for better movement of material. You can also check with your local pool supply distributor. Good luck
Hi MiMi, Your floors look absolutely stunning--like slate. I appreciate that you have provided the link to the Behr product you used; however, there are a lot of colors to choose from with a drop down menu. It doesn't show us the color you used. . Could you please share the paint color that you used on your floors?
Does the floor paint chip away if you wear high heels on it or walk with outside shoes? How about when you have to clean it? Can you use normal floor detergent?
So far so good. I have one are of touch up because I did not follow the instructions of (no water for 30 days). I thought I know better that the maker. lol other than that. no problems at all
Did you consider the Rust-Oleum 2 part Home Floor Coating System which is paint and sealer vs the Behr system which you used of primer then paint for better adhesion ? Also you still did not answer the question of what milky primer you used - just something about painter orders in 5 gal pails

Please make sure you have the correct product. I don't remember those as options. Email me and I will double check the can.
You are a genius! As far as weekly mopping, what is gentle enough for the paint, but strong enough to get the dirt off? I'm totally following you!
Thanks for watching. I take a quarter size of liquid Ivory soap and mix in a bucket of water. My flooring has been easier to clean with the paint. Good luck
That’s absolutely beautiful! How long does it take for a painted floor to get scratched up? That would be my main concern.
I have an area that I did not follow directions (watching 30 days before water application) other than that. Nothing

Very Well.

Not sure. I have seen rust-oleum 2 part. but only after my application.
Will you give us an update on year 1, year 2, etc, about the durability of the paint? That was a bummer about the paint tape. I would cry.
I will. Send me a reminder. So far so good
Hi Mimi🌹most beautiful and look💓🌺
Thank you 😊
Can this be done on laminate floors?
I sure you can find a paint for laminate floors. Not sure about the paint used for this project. Try Rust-oleum brand
Beautiful. What color is that?
