    I was floored by the shots I have seen from this lens paired with d7500 I'm saving up for one hopefully next month.

      Nice! Still the best choice for Nikon DX wide angle in my opinion - enjoy :)

    Great and informative Video! The 10-20mm lens I actually one of the first lenses I placed on my wishlist after I had the 18-55 and the 50mm as a DX DSLR shooter. I take a lot of pictures of nature landscapes and I can see this lens really benefitting for traveling and taking landscapes and general architecture. The 18-55 is absolutely great on the wide end but this definitely give more flexibility and versatility.
    Definitely looking up to future lens and camera reviews, these have literally been scattered on my recommended! :) I think DX lenses deserve more recognition and I'd love to see more of this!

      Thanks! The 10-20mm is great, and now I see them going used for around $200 USD in Mint condition - great deal for those that need that focal length. Nikon DX is underrated, the AF-P "trinity" really saved the day :)

    The lens looks great. I just bought one online, barely used; arriving in a few days. The reviews are good and the prices are good. I will be using it on my D500, which has a menu option to turn off the VR. Whilst I own a Nikon 18-200 zoom, the extra width will help with landscapes and buildings and feature studies. As with any lens, the build should be fine as I am careful with all gear. Thanks for posting. 👍😎🇳🇿✨

      Nice! I think you'll enjoy the lens, makes a great set with the 18-200. Cheers from (temporarily) sunny Canada :D

    Nice review! Use a d3400 quite a lot. Might have to look into this lens. Really like the afp lenses. Wish they would make an f4 or f2.8 line of them.

    • @lensvana
      @lensvana  2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Thanks, Konrad! My favorite of the afp lenses is still the 70-300mm VR, but this one is great too. Unfortunately I don't see Nikon releasing many more F mount lenses... and certainly not for DX

    I had a Samyang 14mm F2.8; and I sold it. I have this 10-20mm and I use it now instead for real estate photography; images are nice and sharp from my D750 in DX mode; and couldn't tell the difference between this and my Samyang so why I sold the Samyang. Great lens.

      Nice! Always good to hear a lens is being used for professional work. I enjoyed your old lens videos by the way, and the dumpling video :)

    688€ in Barcelone with daylight filter, very good results even if sometimes I prefer the eyefish lens 10,5

    Would love that lens for lightning shots, but I would have to upgrade my D3000 and I can't even afford an SD card let alone anything else 😕
    Great review though. Thank you.

      the kit lens did it just fine for me, you really should give it a chance.

      @@Lambda0 I would bite your hand off for an 18-55mm kit lens.
      My D3000 came second hand with a 35-80mm f:4 from 1998 🙄
      I had no idea what I was buying, but it was only £100 6 years ago including the charger.
      To be fair, I've taken some great images with it though.

    • @Lambda0

      dont underestimate old lenses man, but the jump from 35mm to 18mm will be crazy for you, add to it the sharpness that'll make you avoid portraits because of the unholy amount of details on a human face, the kit lens coasts arround 70 dollars in very good condition, i know that 70 dollars can be expensive for some people but ill be damned if you find something cheaper

    • @badger67

      @@Lambda0 the 10-20mm was recommended by Ken Rockwell as a wide angle DX lens for my thunderstorms shoots I do when they come over.
      Seeing as I'm a house husband these days with no income to talk of I'm stuck with what I have.
      I don't have a problem with the old lenses at all and would quite happily use them with a D600 or a D4 full frame SD card compatible camera.
      I generally do landscapes, architecture and some street photography. I've even attempted astrophotography of sorts.
      I just love getting out with my D3000.

    Great review, where do you think is the sweet spot for sharpness on this lens? Cheers from Mexico

    • @lensvana
      @lensvana  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! For me it was sharp enough even wide open, but for my purposes (mostly real estate) I shoot at f/11 anyway. Seems like sharpness peaks f/8 - f/11. This page gives a great explanation with samples at each focal length: photographylife.com/lenses/nikon-af-p-dx-nikkor-10-20mm-f4-5-5-6g-vr/4

    Does the autofocus work with a nikon Z6 and FTZ adapter?

    • @lensvana
      @lensvana  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Stijn, I haven't tested it myself but I see no reason why it shouldn't. However, this is a DX lens so your images will be automatically cut down to 10 megapixels or so...

    Hello. Is it compatible with th new Nikon Z30 ??

    • @lensvana
      @lensvana  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi, yes but you will need an FTZ adapter (not cheap). There's a Z 12-28mm DX lens planned on the Nikon roadmap, but it's unclear when it will be released.

      I do very basic adjustments in Lightroom, maybe 1-2 mins per photo. I may make a video one day, but here's an excellent one that does a far better job than I do: th-cam.com/video/rVYaspHaiO0/w-d-xo.html
