Does this make the ride more comfortable? I live in California so I can’t lower it and the roads are shit. The factory suspension is manageable but it would be nice to lose a bit of performance and get a bit more comfort. Any suggestions?
To be honest one of the most comfortable setups will be your stock suspension. With a set of colors you will have a stiffer suspension which will equal a stiffer ride
Motons are super expensive and not practical for most people who just daily their G80. I would rather just go for KW HAS or something cheaper and not compromise too much on the ride quality. I am not sure why anyone would need coilovers for a street car setup unless one knows exactly what they are doing or getting into.
I agree. It’s definitely not for everyone. Don’t forget these videos are like a commercial. I highly doubt he’s paid full price if at all. I wouldn’t get that for a daily driver, no chance.
I've had the KW HAS kit on my F80 and wasn't impressed. I think most people forget the stock struts are not made to take on the lowered stance with any type of HAS kit for a long period of time. From my experience over time, the KW HAS kit took a beating on my stock struts on my F80 and the ride quality was horrible. It just felt loose. Sure Coilovers ain't for most people. For the ones who want to keep the car longer than 2 years and want more adjustability, it is worth looking into a coilover kit. In my situation, I wanted a coilover kit that had a cup kit work seamlessly. The team at Moton and PSI were able to do that for me.
Although I do work with companies and still pay portions out of pocket. I WILL NOT work with a company or showcase a product that I won't stand behind. I can't say that's the same with most people on TH-cam.
@@TheDailyDriven I’m certainly not having a dig. I just prefer the unbiased person that pays for everything and had no connection to any company. I’ll give an example.. a well known influencer had problems with a part they fitted they got for advertising, they said nothing about it. I know because I’m related to the owner of the company. He had nothing but issues with this particular part and it was taken off sale as a result. Sometimes opinions on TH-cam can be bought, and any issues gets brushed under the carpet. I know you aren’t doing that, but you are the very low 1% of enthusiast.
I know exactly what you mean. I see it all the time too. Some difference between those type of influencers are that they get pitched to promote products and take it cause of lucrative kickbacks. I actually reach out to the ones I want to work with and sometimes I get a slight discount. Nothing earth shattering. But in return I film my experience and share it on my channel. I know people work hard for their earned income just like I do. So I pride myself with only recommending quality and being honest.
How does this affect the active dampening our cars comes with?
Love my MOTON 2 ways on my M4 CSL! Sean/PSI were amazing! Great seeing your setup!! Looks super!
The Motons 2 ways must feel like a dream ! Good thing I could always upgrade my 1 ways down the road.

I had springs on my m340i and destroyed my stuts. I should have done coilovers.
Yeah springs aren't for the long run for sure.

Yeah this is pretty useless video. It seems quite illogical to buy $8000 coilovers for a $70k car.
