    I honestly don't know how to express how much I appreciate this video 🙏

    Just dropped mine on coilovers and ordered these bad boys for the preload. They make a hell of a difference if you're lowered!

    I noticed the end link on the rear sway bar on this ND car is mounted inside the sway bar. On my NA car the OEM end link was mounted on the outside of the bar (the side closest to the tire). Are NDs different than NAs? I noticed on the ND's front sway bar it was mounted on the outside like my NA. Also, once you get the end link adjusted using the turnbuckle, how tight do you need to make it to lock it down?

    Rear suspension - where does the lower end of the end link connect to? It goes from Sway bar-end link-? . Driving an NC and it looks like a similar setup. Noticed that were my end link connects to rusted off and needs to be replaced. Thanks!

    At 5.39 you say that the sway bar is setup in it's firmest setting. My understanding is that the hole furthest away from long bit of the sway bar is actually the softest setting. Can you clarify please?

      Agreed! That is the Loosest setting, not Tightest setting.

    talk about preloading the sway bar for racing adjustments

      The only time you would do that would be if you wanted the car to act differently in left and right turns.

    To clarify, did you say to install the one side while the car is lifted off the ground, and then the other side once you drop it down? And couldn't you just match the length of the stock parts?

    • @FlyinMiataVideo
      @FlyinMiataVideo  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oops. Sorry for the confusion. It wasn't clearly explained, but I think he was trying to say that when you are trying to get the correct length, it is easier to install one side, then lower the car to ride height and adjust to the appropriate length so that you can match the second side and install it. Depending on your other suspension components, you may not want to use the stock length. The adjustable end-links let you keep your sway bar at the ideal level (parallel to the ground) while at different ride heights and can also help corner balance the car. If you have a heavily modified car and lowered suspension, the stock end-link length will probably have the sway bar ends in an off parallel position.

    If I lower my NC about 1-1.2 inches with coilovers do I need to change out the stock end links??????

      It's not required, but you can adjust your sway bar down to a more effective position if you do use adjustable end links.

    I'm hearing a loud clunk under very hard cornering (only happens during autocross). The swaybar appears to be contacting the front upper control arm. Currently the bar is mostly parallel to the ground at ride height. I assume shortening the endlinks is the correct next step?
    As a note, I have an NB with FM sway bars, VMaxx coilovers (set to the recommended 12"/12.5" heights), and cobalt adjustable endlinks

    So should you install the sway bar links if you install a sway bar or are they just recommended for additional stiffness?

    • @FlyinMiataVideo
      @FlyinMiataVideo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Sway bar links are a required part of a sway bar assembly. If you're asking about adjustable end links - they do not add stiffness, but they give you the ability to adjust the angle of the bar and eliminate preload.

      @@FlyinMiataVideo yeah that answers the question was really asking about adjustable vs stock. Thank you!

    I thought adjustable end links were for adjusting suspension at the track for a troublesome corner. Am I all wrong??? Is the adjustment only for finding neutral position?

    • @FlyinMiataVideo
      @FlyinMiataVideo  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Correct, they're not really to adjust handling - they're to prevent handling from being affected. You can adjust your handling balance by moving the end links from one hole to another in the sway bar, but that's not adjusting the end link itself.

    This is a fumbling video 🤦‍♂️. I get that it was a live video but doesn't work very well. And the rear sway bar was set to the softest setting actually, not the "firmest". This video didn't really tell me how to properly set and adjust my links for zero preload so it's pretty much useless.
