Bless your heart! Thank you so much for explaining this so well! I envisioned a big mess of dropped stitches and tight ladder stitches ruining my work, which of course is practically ruined on my pre-Cheryl knitting machine work!
Nancy! How on earth did it take me 2 years to find this comment? It never cam through on my email alerts because I surely would have answered you. Thank you so much for your blessing and you are most welcome.
Yes l've seen that segment on the Bond ribber, that's what peaked/renewed my interest! Would still like to know where l can obtain one! Thanks again for your time and effort!!
The Elite has not been sold for many years. It was only manufactured for a short time The original blue BOND had a ribber. It has not been sold since the early 90s and few ribbers were made because they weren't very successful. If you Google "BOND ribber" you'll find some TH-cam videos on it. As I said, I owned one for a short time in the 80s and thought it was more bother than it was worth, but some people liked them.
So the Elite is 7mm and the Incredible is 8mm, correct? Ok now l get it, never thought about "spacing"! Makes perfect sense now! On that note, what ribber "can" l use with the Incredible?!! Always wanted a ribber bed but couldn't afford to buy both Elite beds at that time and l never saw any ribber bed mentioned for use with the Incredible. l didn't realize, until now, that the Elite & the Ultimate were 2 different mach.
You might try a BOND ribber. Are you in the USM facebook group? If so, ask there. I don't have enough experience with the newer machines or a ribber to trust advising you.
The Bond "Incredible" Knitting machine was the first one then Bond came out with the "Ultimate" K. Mach. and the ribber bed was available, costed as much as the knitting bed. l wish l could send you a picture but l have already packed it ( l'm moving)!
Hi Renee. I don't know. I've never heard of an "ultimate ribber." BOND, many years ago, made a ribber but I never liked it. I though they had abandoned the idea by the time they got to the "incredible." Can you send me a link about it?
There was a machine called an Elite and it had a 7mm pitch I think. That is, the needles were 7 millimeters apart, slightly closer than the 8 mm on the BOND, Incredible Sweater Machine and Ultimate. I believe they may have made a ribber for the Elite but I can't remember. I had an Elite for a while but there wasn't enough difference between them for me to keep both around. The BOND also had a ribber and I bought one but I found it tedious to use and it was hard to line up properly because the machine does not have the precise tolerances of a metal machine. I also like to hand-manipulate stitches so I got rid of the ribber too.

I didn't know that the Ultimate had a ribber but all three of the 8mm machines should take the same ribber.
Can the "Ultimate ribber" be combined to the "Incredible" bed??
