Very interesting video, though i think that also N. taracua soldier deserved a mention: thanks to their finely developed asymmetrical snapping technique (unique to termites), they're the current holder of the fastest animal movement "medal" having recently beaten Pericapritermes nitobei, another asymmetrical snapping termite. We're talking of speeds 2.5 times higher than those achieved by trap jaw ants! Termites are a very unknown and misunderstood but extremely interesting and varied infraorder, capable of many amazing and often completely unique feats... it would be great to see them featured again on this channel!

Some termite specie can even use their mandibles both to inflict normal bites or to snap, according to the situation. Cheers!
