loved this class lottie! it has been a while since I have practiced pilates consistently, one of my challenges is psyching myself out, overthinking what routine I should do, and focusing too much on my skill level and whether or not I am good enough. this was the perfect class for me, it allowed me to focus on the basics and stay intuned with my sense of control and strength, without overthinking things. I will definitely be returning to it as I continue down my current fitness journey! side note: i love your top and leggings! looks both comfortable and breathable! may I ask where they are from?

Hi Lottie, I love your channel so much, I love your vibe, the setting, everything :) I have noticed that some pilates exercises (everything connected with lifting my upper body from a laying position / crunch style movements) unfortunately cause me lots of pain the day after, due to my lumbar disc protrusion. Is this a common problem? What do you tell your clients - just skip those exercises? Thank you so much!
Thank you so much Anna for your lovely feedback, I appreciate you being a part of this community so much. The curl up from laying on your back position is a definitely a technically challenging movement to perform especially in these classical style sequences. You could try to do the exercises with your head down and still do the leg movements to see if that helps keep your spine in a more comfortable position. You could also try putting a small ball between the shoulder blades, under your thoracic spine to help maintain the curled up position and support the lumbar spine. I would say to make sure your lower back isn't arching/abdominals aren't doming when doing those exercises too and of course rest and modify whenever you need to. Let me know how you get on. x
Could you please tell me where I can find a CLASSICAL pilates workout with all 34 exercises? I've searched on TH-cam but mostly finding videos that mix in a bunch of other advanced moves or yoga as well....🙄 I just want classical pilates in a full workout. Thanks
Focus on pulling with your abs not hands behind your head. When doing crunches keep your eyes on celling. Keep chest open and wide and keep your belly active it means that it must be flat. If your neck hurts do the same exercise but with head on the mat or rest for a little bit and get back up again. With progress it will get better. And small precise movements are better at the beginning. Hope that helps 😊
