    Great video. Doing that without the supercharger removed is a trick. And all fine and dandy till I broke a waterpump bolt. Lower one on driver's side actually protrudes into open antifreeze causes it to seize . 2 weeks of careful Dremmel grinding and I was able to Heli-coil it. Nightmare

    Nice video, personally I've done more broken y pipes under the supercharger than water pumps, most failures I see are well over 120 thousand miles .
    Very durable when you think about it.

      Not sure about the V8, but I had the Y pipe crack on my 2017 3.0S Velar P380 at 32,000 kms. Luckily for me it was still in warranty so the dealer handled it. I've now just had a leak start from the thermostat housing at 52,000 kms. Oh the joys. Plastic fantastic

    Clarification is needed on the difference between "counter clock wise" and "anti clock wise" are they not the same? About 1:45 they are mentioned regarding the fan...

    Why has no one asked about the torque specs for the T30 water pump bolts? Seems important.....I would hate to snap one of those off. The video mentions torque but does not say. Anyone know? I just got my old one out. Thank you for the video!!!!

      I did snap one off. Lower one on driver's side goes into open antifreeze. Gummed it all up. Had to Dremmel it out. Then helicoil cuz it was impossible to not get into the aluminum. I went 18 footpounds and that felt tight

    My question is what is the right Torque for those tiny screws on the water pump .. I get all kinds of different answers lol 🤦🏽‍♂️ 2011 Rover sport HSE v8 5.0 none supercharged. I can’t stand the fact that rover put all kinds of plastic parts on this motor 🤦🏽‍♂️ it’s a amazing machine! But way couldn’t they have used aluminum tubes with a flange and o-rings. Would it really have cost them that much more money this is a 90k machine !!! 🤦🏽‍♂️

    For the small elbow on the front of the waterpump, how do you remove it? The video mentioned to put pressure on the plastice sleeve. How do you put pressure on it, with what tool?

    • @atlanticbritishrp
      @atlanticbritishrp  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can put straight pressure on it with the flat side of a flat-head screwdriver or something that will give you leverage without damaging the sleeve while you pull the elbow off.

    • @approx01
      @approx01 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      im doing this job right now and i couldnt find any good info about how to push it either. you push the collar back against the water pump. the collar stays in the pump and the plastic elbow slides all the way out. imagine one of those plastic snap rivets but you can pull the center part all the way out.

    Hey can I put back the sleeve on the elbo? My elbo broke and I had to remove everything completely. The sleeve was damage and elbo. Do I need to replace the complete water pump or can I make something work?

    • @roverparts8796
      @roverparts8796 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Our tech, Gareth says: "If he broke the black sleeve in the water pump , he’s going to need a new water pump assembly. If he broke just the elbow, he’s going to need a new hose assembly. If that is the case, we'd need his VIN number to tell him which hose assembly, as that hose assembly was changed and updated after a certain VIN."

    Hi there I have a 2012 Jaguar XF same water pump deal 5.0 engine but for some reason is still leaking antifreeze around that area can you help me out?

    • @atlanticbritishrp
      @atlanticbritishrp  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! We would really recommend you seeing your Jaguar mechanic to diagnose the issue, but with the 5.0 engine there are several spots that can leak including the gaskets around the water pump along with the o-rings and seams at the Y-pipe that extends out from the water pump.

    On a 2013 range rover sport supercharged, when standing in front of the engine bay when taking of the fan, do u turn the nut bolt with the wrench clockwise or counter clockwise? I've been trying counter clockwise but it dont budge. Your help would be appreciated.

      All of them loosen in the opposite direction of rotation. The catch is, where is the pulley in relation to crankshaft rotation. Some are off to the left, others to the right, which can change the thread on the pulley.

    Hi. I have a call at lake on my 2014 Range Rover sport. The coolant splash pattern is under the air intake, at the side of the oil filter and under the oil filter. I don’t feel any wetness under the front plastic crossover tubing. I don’t see any wetness around the back plastic crossover tubing ( the tubing behind the manifold). I watch this video and was thinking possibly it was the water pump. Does this splash pattern sound like water pump damage?

      Here's the waterpumps... they are on sale at the momment: genuine: www.roverparts.com/Parts/LR097165GK | aftermarket: www.roverparts.com/Parts/LR033993K. General rule of thumb with Rover waterpumps... If you are looking to hold on to the vehicle for a while, you'll want to spend the extra for a genuine or OEM waterpump. If you aren't holding on to the vehicle for long, lesser aftermarket pumps are OK, but they usually don't last very long.

    how long should the OE version last?

    • @roverparts8796
      @roverparts8796 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Genuine will last longer than aftermarket typically, but like anything, depends on how hard the vehicle is driven, enviroment, etc. The OE version is now no longer available... guessing LR caught wind of it and told the OE manufacturer to drop it. The genuine and aftermarket options we carry are here: www.roverparts.com/nxt/?Dropdowndescription=LR4+%2F+Discovery+4&Category=ENGINE&Subcategory=Cooling%2FHeating
