    There's another one called: VHT Epoxy black paint for rolling chassis. I did front fork lowers and it didn't chipped off even in the UKs climate and salt on the roads.

    VHT roll cage paint is also quite good . It's chemical resistant

    "Off road" in Australia...
    Translation: riding in the backyard over to the pub.
    Isn't everywhere not on the far east coast pretty much off road?
    Great vid and overview of painting rims!

    I painted my Yamaha fz6r rims white 3 years ago with industrial strength rustoleum and its holding up great. Like you said it's easy to touch up if needed.

    I have paid many wheels base coat clear. The hold up fine. They will scratch easier than powder, but there's so much more cool colors this way.

    Also for that point, there should not be much contact on them also.. less to worry about than other places.

    Have you looked into diy powder coating as you have a shot blaster ? I’ve used a “powder magic” system for years . Your only restriction is the size of your oven ! I’ve found it to be really tough and quick to do & gives a real professional finish . It cost me about £180 in the uk . Cheers mark , loving the riding tips by the way !

    G'Day Mark ! the brand name is not as imperative as the type of paint, the epoxy enamel should work no matter where you are or purchase it, given it is a good can of paint not some throw down make /// Short n sweet or Long n fun, keep em coming

  • @metaldog7128
    @metaldog7128 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Short and sweet 😀 if painting them can save you from buying new wheels, then go for it 👍 let's face it if you just leave them to rust to death you will have to spend big money in the end! , get em off prepare them real good and you have just saved money and possibly saved your wheels for many years to come 👍

    Oils ain't oils and paints ain't paints. Not all paints are born equal - IOW, this side of laboratory level testing be guided by price.

      @@BikerBits hey question then: I just got a brand new front wheel in matte black; not even installed yet. My stock rear wheel is of course gloss black. If I decide to paint the new wheel, do I need to do the whole 3m sanding and primer spray with the clear coat spray afterwards or is this can good to go?

      I painted my wheels too the bad thing about it was that when I wanted to clean it up my rear wheel... Soap and water did not make it I had to used gasoline or kerosene, but those things destroy eventually the paint... I removed the paint and make them pulished my rims....
