more fins per inch isn't always better ... you need room for air to flow through at high velocity, too .. a particular CFM at say 30 mph, etc, ... no ?
@@hyper8545, Not the exact car but on my Type R the PRL and Greddy were neck and neck.. The Mishimoto turned out the best IAT's and we did a solid amount of testing. The PRL is a good choice too but to say the Mishimoto doesn't do its job really well is BS. Intake I'd say PRL, Intercooler Mishimoto. I had 2 10th gen Si's before this Type R. And tried a ton of different parts from a ton of companies

@@hyper8545, There is only so much performance you can possibly get from intercooler on the Type R. Full race makes a really nice one, PRL, Greddy, 27Won. They're all extremely close in performance. My mechanics Type R is at 500HP and he some his first 2 and stuck with the Mishimoto. What other options are you talking about? You're going to pay $500 to $700.. There isn't any $2000 special high quality intercoolers for the FK8 that I've seen anyone running

This information is just wrong. Bar and plate intercoolers are not more efficient at cooling than tube and fin designs.
