    Nice video guys - here is some context and answers to some of the questions or feedback that you raised. 1) The larger inlet / outlet is for guys who want to go bigger power in the future - we're future proofing the design so guys can buy 1 intercooler and grow with the set-up. 2) The powder-coating is a thermal dispersion coating + it helps with avoiding corrosion , debris, etc 3) The frontal surface area allows for the quickest temp drop after beating on it - we have dyno video on our website to supplement the R&D that we did.

    I have the SXTH intake, OTL downpipe, RK Ti catback, and when OTL fulfills the preorder intercoolers I'll be installing that with their intercooler piping as well. Should be fairly close to your moms GRC so I'll hit you up about a tune soon.

    I recognize that fin design on the stm intercooler. It’s a garret core and they are expensive but they are the best cores you can buy. Only draw back is that it can cause over heating if you have a car that has bad air flow to the radiator but they are super popular in the Mitsubishi community.

    Could you guys do a comparison like this but with intakes? Seems like all the claimed power gains are inconsistant in between companies for their intakes. Some do their measurements in STD vs SAE (like you mentioned in another video), some dont mention if they dynoed in AWD or FWD, and others dont have dyno sheets at all. I feel like companies like K&N are gonna have a lower actual power gain vs other companies like Eventuri or MST. Without consistant testing, their numbers are meaningless in comparison to other companies.

    @Nemtec, Per your comments on valve-float with all these options beyond stock; what's your recommendation to do about the issue if going OTL or CSF - just stay off the limiter, consciously stay under 6k rpm, or look toward a tune to set rpm limit? My aim is to relieve the components of the heat soak and stress to the engine overtime - keeping the car overall in its stock form long-term means swapping valve springs is a bit overboard. Keep up the great content.

    Hey just to clarify: there is valve float on all aftermarket intercoolers because all of them increased boost pressure passed the valve springs tolerance/rating. If I remember correctly from another video, valve float happens on our cars at around 27psi of boost. Sooo can I assume that all of the intercoolers in this video will most likely increase boost passed 27psi during daily driving?
    It seems like a lot but I’m not an experienced mechanic just a hobbies so I might be missing something here.

    • @NemtecRacing
      @NemtecRacing  3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      It’s a tricky question because technically with a tune you could get the stock car in stock form to float the valves…
      And I wouldn’t run an intercooler without a tune because it’s just not gonna be super safe for the car in the long run idk just my opinion.
      But the smaller intercoolers on a stock tune probably won’t have valve float. The big intercoolers probably will it the big intercoolers on a stock tune are unrealistic because you need a tune when changing the air flow that much

    • @KoalaOalaJones
      @KoalaOalaJones 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

    Did you guys monitor coolant temps as a part of this testing to test differences? Specifically curious about that due to some of the taller intercoolers you tested potentially blocking up free flow of air across the radiator vs the stock FMIC, and warmer air flowing across the radiator as a whole.

      Valve float on these cars is very simple. If you run above like 24lbs of boost past 6k rpm on the stock valve springs they will float

      I got the SXTH because CSF or OTL wasn’t out yet. Is it worth upgrading the SXTH intercooler to a CSF or OTL or is the SXTH is good enough for a daily driver. The thing I like about the SXTH it’s durable i do a lot of highway driving the stock one was getting dinged up SXTH doesn’t get any rock dings and it seems better than stock. I wish you guys tested it to see the numbers. They claim it performs 20 degree drop over stock intercooler which isn’t as good as CSF or OTL. BTW love the videos keep doing them. Hey guys just a quick question about the valve float you experienced. was it with just the intercooler on a stock setup or after tuning? I'm just trying to understand if I can just bolt on a few things and be OK or if I need to start thinking rocker retainers/ head work with this mod. great videos! Thanks for all your sacrifice and hard work for for the sake of the GR community.

    • @NemtecRacing
      @NemtecRacing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      If you bolt on a intercooler you shouldn’t get valve float. But once you get more than one or 2 mods like intake and downpipe we’d recommend a tune cause these cars are sensitive and you can definitely drive your car and daily it with mods and no tune but taking it to the track and ripping it probs isn’t a great idea without a tune

    • @NemtecRacing
      @NemtecRacing  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Valve float is avoidable by any tuner who knows what they’re doing. If you get a tune you shouldn’t be worried about valve float cause the main guys that tune these cars know what’s up and have the tunes dialed in enough to avoid valve float.

    Dang makes me kinda regret preordering the jackson racing intercooler 🥲 but at least it’s a huge upgrade from stock! I’m getting turbo inlet, charge piping and a BOV next. What brands would you recommend? I’m plan on getting SXTH element piping and stuck in between HKS and turbosmart for the BOV

    • @NemtecRacing

      Honestly BOV is kinda a waste. We never ran one on ours until we got the turbo smart one for the big turbo. And the jackson racing intercooler is very good intercooler so your all good
