Thanks man! I've done a lot of work but never put front springs on. I'll be doing my 89 F-150 tonight. Loved the use of a sock foot to hold the shock absorber in place. You're keeping it real!
For those of us that are week end garage warriors could you go over any precautions taking springs off and placement of the jacks and stands to be safe. thanks.
Closest installation video I can find to my year super duty bout the same coil spring and shock housing bucket on top. I have an 08 Ford super duty and I'm getting the 1.5 coil spring to put on my.
Funny, Bilstein specifically told me that these shocks are not compatible with the 1.5" lift, but it seems like they are per this video. I couldn't find any shocks anywhere that were specifically listed as compatible with my 87 F-150 with a 1.5" level.
Nice video, I used it to do the same to mine. For me, the bends on the bottom of springs are larger than originals and the factory retainer washers aren't large enough to hold the springs. reviewing your video it looks the same (7:00 mark). does this pose any issue?
I didn't have any issues with mine. That being said, my factory retainer was big enough to hold the spring in. Good luck with yours and I hope my video helps.
Seems like it should touch. I'm not 100% sure without looking at it unfortunately. Potentially dumb question, but the spring isn't upside down by chance is it?
Did you have to do an alignment and if so how did you do that? cause mine has that level kit and the top of both the wheels are leaning outwards from the style of front suspension
On the 1.5 coil lift did you leave stock camber in ? Or did you pull out and replace? What degree did you go with? Did you use tired lock on bolt threds as you put togeather thanks
Do you know if they make a 2" spring kit? I really dont want to have to go through the trouble of buying am actual lift kit just to level my truck. Mine has a factory lift block in the back but nothing done to the front. Its a 95. Im sure yours has the same block.
Rough Country sells a 2.5 inch lift kit for $399. That includes rear lift components as well. You might be able to call Rough Country and get just the front springs. I know the rake on my truck was enough that I could have lifted the front 2.5 inches and it wouldn't have looked wierd.
@@LambchopsChopShop thats exactly what im thinkin. Ill probably buy the same springs you have and call it good for now. Thanks for the quick reply. I subscribed. Great videos. Keep the f150 videos coming!
Did you have to install new caster/cambers after this 2'' lift? I have an '87 Ranger and plan to do the same thing but I read alot of issues with the cambers and casters and them needing to be swapped.
I have a 91 f150 2wd. I'm just replacing my old springs with new factory ones. Do I need to get an alignment? Nice video by the way!! I live in Ohio and have a lot more rust underneath than your truck.
If you're just replace factory springs, you should be good without an alignment. However, if it's been a long time since you're last alignment, it may not be a bad idea to get one.
On the camber did you change stock out ? An if you did what degree did you put in it for the 1.5 coil springs? And did you put three lock on all bolts as you put togeather ? Thanks
I think you should still be good with 2 inches. If I had to guess, I think anything after 3 inches is where you start getting close to the limits of your stock brake lines. If in doubt contact the manufacturer of your lift. 👍👍
@@heismanhighlights5123 I would have liked to have an extra 1 to 2 inches for the front, but I think the truck sat up higher than stock in the back. Also, 33 inch tires should fit. 31's looked a little too small.

My 1992 f150 came from the factory with 2” blocks in the rear but mine it the off-road package I’m going to try to get it level
That's what I was shooting for. I'd probably go with a 2" or 2.5" leveling kit for yours.

Do you know the exact tourqe specs for this or do you just tighten them
I do not know those. I just tightened it until I was happy with it.
@Lambchop's Chop Shop how do you determine its good? Just experience? Or is there something to feel while tightening
@@jaedenwishman3490 pretty much just experience. Just tighten it until it's tight. No need to gorilla arm it
No camber ends necessary?
With such a small lift, there should be enough adjustment in the factory suspension to fix the camber. You will need an alignment.
Michigan roads in front of the. Capital nice hahaha
Hahaha!
Howdy. Re: Alignment; Did you change out the camber bushing or just leave it oem?
Mine was pretty worn out, (over 300,000 miles), so I replaced it.
The back is always higher than the front. Made that way to freaking haul stuff.
I have a question if you buy a taller springs would it lift it in the frunt like a 4in spring?
Yes. Taller springs will lift it more. However, the taller you go, the more the camber will need to be corrected.
Thanks for the video; did I miss what the bottom nut is to be torqued too?
Thanks. You didn't miss it. I'm sure there is a correct torque number, but I just tightened it down until I was satisfied.

You just used stock right height bilstein’s?
Yes. They should work up to a couple inches of lift.
“Just a little bumpy”
“ hits face on windshield”
Hahaha!
what was the measurement on the front after the install vs the rear?
The front measured just above 35" compared to 38" in the rear.
I noticed the F250s of these years are already level, theoretically, can I just install some F250 springs onto my F150 to level it?
Theoretically I'm sure you could. It might ride pretty rough though.
So how much higher did they actually lift the front end?
I got about the full inch and a half.

The suspension is more hard?
I wouldn't say it was harder. It actually rode better than stock.
Hello, how am I from Mexico? I want to put those increases on a 1994 Ranger. My question is, are they hard? or are they softer?
They are a little more firm. But they ride better than original ones.
You think this will work with my 1979 Ford F-150?
I imagine the exact lift I used is specific to the 1980-1996 trucks. However, I'm sure Rough Country has a lift specific to your truck.
@@LambchopsChopShop thanks

I didn't experience death wobble, but it does require an alignment to fix the camber.

You measured before you put it in but don’t believe I saw you measure after the spring was in

What size shocks did you need?
I just used a stock replacement. There's a link in the description. 👍👍

Was it a gd ride or did it bounce alot cause u looked like u was bouncing quite a bit im just curios
The ride was good. The road I was on was a bumpy and hilly path near my house.

I did. It didn't affect the ride, but at least the tires will wear straight.
