It wasn’t a mistake. Max knew it was no longer sustainable to keep Lando behind when his tire was degrading quicker than Norris. Better sacrifice P1 and focus on the next best thing which is P2
Stop glazing him, his only chance of winning was if he kept Lando behind, no way he just let him overtake. He went wide for two laps. It happens, he's human and makes mistakes, easy to make with how understeery that car has been for the last few races.
Can't see any mistakes. Lando just has a quicker car and passed him. You can see the tighter lines Lando can take into each corner and he still gets better traction coming out of them. Fairly standard racing
@@Favattack Eh, he has to miss the apex... He is trying to carry more speed on to the straight. If he hits the apex, the car doesn't have the traction and cornering so he will lose even more time on the straight and most likely be passed there. So he takes a wider line, comes into the corner quicker so he can carry more speed in/ out of the corner and then carry it on to the straight. Have you noticed that in every corner Lando takes a tighter line, is able to get on the power quicker and gets better traction/ speed on the straight and he still turns in earlier into the following corner than Max. Max is trying to drive around the issues with his car
@@Favattack That's not how formula 1 aerodynamics work. In principle, the faster a driver enters a corner, the more grip they get from the aerodynamics. Relatively speaking, the faster you go, the more the car is pushed into the ground. The reason Lando is able to corner tighter, is because he is carrying more speed into the corner and the superior aero on his car means that he can turn in sharper, the car grips so he can get on the power sooner. The Red Bull's aero doesn't work as well as the McLaren's so the reason Max has to take a wider line is because if he goes slower into the corner to catch the apex, he actually loses more grip than he would gain if he carries a higher speed. Does that make sense? It's nearly the opposite of driving a kart
@@ingrogies1 That makes sense but the think that i dont get is how by missing the apex you can carry more speed. The entry speed might be higher but the exit speed its not. The general rule is fast entry and slow exit.
