Seb showing yet again what an absolute leg end he is, smashing all the challenges then being so humble. Side note Mark Higgins is a phenomenal driver and holds the 4 wheel lap record on the Isle of Mann TT course
This just goes to show that stunt driving is a skill in itself. Being a world class racing driver doesn't doesn't mean that you can be a top notch stunt driver. Good fun had by all though.
To be fair, the stunt driver has more seat time in the car than Seb and Lance. Not saying they would be on his level, but given a bit more time with the car probably would bring them closer in performance.
Hmm... It's different to be sure, I guess would have been easier for a rally driver. But it can't be that difficult. Lots of guys do this, for example at rallies for amateurs. I did some too, takes some practice, but not that much. Then, even David Hasselhoff did a lot of stuntdriving by himself. I've also seen stuntdrivers teaching a journalist to do a 2 wheels go. He flipped the car at first attempt, after a few more tries he could do it.
TBH I actually think too that Seb would make a great Bond lol, he got that agent look, plus he is smart, funny and quick witted! And once again showed how much of a good driver he is, in a car he never drove before, he got accumulated to it very quickly, and nailed the challenges!
@@22copes A lightweight E type has a lot more mechanical grip. Still, the difference between them is nothing compared to an F1 car. If Jolyon Palmer did better than Seb here would that make him a better driver? No. Furthermore, Jolyon is still a much better driver than the driver who did best here. It's a lot easier to teach people how to drive a moderately fast road car with limited grip than an F1 car. In the Hulkenberg video on the Aston site the stunt driver notes that F1 drivers go too slowly into the corners then apply too much throttle. They are used to immense grip- so they don't trust a car with .85 g at most. I remember Tiff Needel...already quite old, eviscerating the then second ranked Bond Stuntdriver. Was 2.8 seconds faster than the stunt driver on a 45 second course. Tiff knows drifting and burnouts from all the powerful front engined rear drive road cars he's driven. Vantages, Gran Turismos, F-Types and F-12's. I remember him easily beating Karun Chandhok at drifting. Chandhok raced 20 races whilst Tiff was in F1 for a cup of coffee. It didn't help Karun was in an F12 and Tiff in a Vanquish S. I have no doubt in an RB16 or W12 Chandhok would easily beat Needel by 4-5 seconds. Both would spin in an RB16 but Chandhok could complete a lap. Put Liam Lawson in Albons RB15 or RB16 and he is crushed...maybe gets 30 points....makes Gasly look good in 2019. The point is the least gifted driver did best here because of practice and experience. Lance likely has the least inherent talent but amongst Seb and Brundle That's no insult. Seb did about the same as Hulkenberg against Ricciardo. Both Germans are very good. When Brundle was competing against Senna at the level below F1 in 1983...a team boss took a racing sheet and showed it to Johnny Dumfries...a fast young driver. He told Johnny that Martin and Ayrton were the only names worth paying attention to. Martin crippled his legs nearly as badly as Herbert ,but still was only outscored 51-38 by Schumacher on the same team at 35 years of age. Seb had shown a bit less ability than Senna and Hamilton. If Leclerc is a prodigy ,then Seb did quite well being slightly outscored and ahead 10-7 in races. Webber was at a very similar level 2009-2010. Webber got old and Seb became one with the car. If Stroll poled at Turkey and finished second but binned a fun remote control car race these 'individuals ' would cited that as proof of his ineptitude.😂😂
