    Silvie has spent her life hiding in disaster zones so the TVA could not find her. That reaction at the end was because she is seeing people just being happy and living life. Now she has a chance to experience that.

    The suit that Moebius wears to go out to the Loom, is actually just a bomb-disposal suit with a different helmet on. Really need idea for a prop, actually. They could've just gone with a conventional wannabe space suit, or just a hazmat suit. But the point is that it's meant more to be armor than anything else. So, it's huge and thick and padded...meant to be ablated by temporal forces...like a shuttle's heat-shield.
    Since there's likely no oxygen or anything out in that void, the "aging" is mostly the subatomic particles reaching maximum entropy at an accelerated rate. Rather than oxidation or most other forms of macroscopic decay, it's all of the matter in the suit (and you) reaching the lowest possible energy state at a ridiculous pace. And then...it falls apart. So, you'd actually last a pretty solid while before you died...because most of the elements in the human body are pretty stable in that sense. But you'd still never make it to the door in time because you'd be absolutely floored by the agony of it. Hence the need for a suit so bulky it slows you down that much.

    Great blocking and direction in this episode, lots of great camera tricks used. We got some memorable shots in this one. But the best part of this episode is the chemistry between Mobius and Loki. And Ke Huy Quan, of course :)

    To quote Bender “WE’RE BACK BABY”! This 1 episode has some of the best use of time travel/glitching moments of all time. The way that Loki, Mobius and OB were all able to have a 3 way conversation across 2 different points in time blew my mind WHILE also making die laughing. Not to mention the absolutely perfect building of tension in the last 10 minutes, I felt like I was watching a Christopher Nolan movie.
    And Ke Huy Quan is absolutely PERFECT as OB, hiring him for Loki is one of the best decisions Kevin Feige and Marvel Studios has ever made, and just like Owen Wilson he must be protected at all costs.
    Also Loki time slipping looks absolutely painful. Like he’s been thrown into a taffy puller and is being ripped apart while turned inside out.
    And you two are tied with Blind Wave and Louise Julie for my favorite Loki Reactions

    I’m getting the feeling the General and that guard may have been lovers as past variants, her variant has been safe within the TVA and her variant is older, he must have been pruned at some point and a younger variant was pulled, how they remember each other is the question, I think the general has had access to information she wasn’t supposed to, she may have been there since the beginning

    I'm about 98% sure that there is a literal ouroboros in the episode where Loki meets Sylvie climbing out of the elevator. If I'm right, we will see the "other side" of that scene in the final episode of this season, and it will be revealed that Sylvie isn't talking to the Loki that we are looking at now, but the one standing behind him right before he prunes "himself".

    24:07 That's the definition of a paradox - it's logically self-contradictory, so you have to suspend your disbelief to a certain extent in order to follow the story. There are a few different approaches to incorporating time travel into stories, all of which lead to various paradoxes. MCU is clearly going with the bootstrap paradox approach here, but they are also using the branched timelines approach simultaneously. It's an interesting take on time travel that I don't think has been done too many times before.

    • @LuminescentMonk
      @LuminescentMonk ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Ayyyy bootstrap paradox for the win! Nice to see someone else who's picking up on it. It's able to resolve itself due to the branches but still a very great representation of several time travel paradoxes

Thanks for reminding me to watch for an end credit scene, I forgot to watch for it. Hey, also, you both have to watch Guardians Vol III, it is par for the course the Guardians and totally fun and satisfying. It finishes the Character development arcs of all the Guardians so well. However, please make sure you and Kat are feeling good and well slept prior to watching, or scenes from the movie will destroy you if not in the right mind frame.

    MARVEL fans have tied their expectation to their viewing of current projects, BUT haven't realized or remembered the bumps we went through along the way to Infinity War and Endgame. We're being introduced to all new characters and stories. Phase 4 was a completely new launch point and themes will tie together more in the next phase. MARVEL got back the X-Men AFTER the next phase was already underway and had to course correct just after launching phase 4. • @marcusnartatez
    @marcusnartatez ปีที่แล้ว

    So my theory on who pruned Loki is that it was ob or possibly Sylvie because I think Loki originally didn't make it back and therefore morpheus did it make it back. Knowing that they are the keys to save all of this. They waited for the moment in the future and lured him into that position with the phone to kind of reset the timeline and send him back as if he did make it

  • @DoremiFasolatido1979
    @DoremiFasolatido1979 ปีที่แล้ว

    When they brought in OB, I thought they were just making a cheap play for some nostalgia points. Bring in the guy who played Data in Goonies for a cameo, get everyone in the nostalgia. Nothing special.
    Then you get him through most of the episode, in a KEY role...and the dude just fucking runs away with the entire episode on his own. He's absolutely the best thing, in an already awesome episode.
    We get all the chemistry and the tones of weirdness and horror and humor all blended and balanced so well. And then Ke Huy Quan's return and he just dominates like he's Downey Jr in Endgame.
    It's just great.

    "That makes perfect sense... there is no flaw in that logic..." 😂 Lampshades (when writers write something to show the audience that they realize their plot device doesn't make sense, but to ask us to just go with it) are often clunky or awkward, or feel unearned (like "why should we go with it? It's bad writing!"). But that... was beautiful and hilarious 😂
    And yes, Guardians 3 is amazing, and if you're going to watch it (which you should!), bring tissues.

      Nah, if you look at the shot closely, you can see that he was hit with the timestick from behind. • @berighteous

      13 AMAZING TOMATOMETER STATS FOR THE MARVEL CINEMATIC UNIVERSE
      WHICH PHASE RANKS BEST? WHICH CHARACTER IS FRESHEST? WHEN DID MARVEL HIT A ROUGH PATCH? WE BREAK IT DOWN.
      May 5, 2022
      1. THE AVERAGE TOMATOMETER AND AUDIENCE SCORES FOR THE ENTIRE MCU ARE NEARLY IDENTICAL
      Average Audience Score: 81.88% | Average Tomatometer Score: 81.84%
      The average Audience Score for every MCU film and show is 81.88%, while the average Tomatometer score is 81.84% - that is some consistency right there! The nearly identical scores are almost unheard of with individual films on Rotten Tomatoes, let alone when averaging out scores across 44 movies and TV series. Critics and fans: Assemble!
      2. THE DISNEY+ SERIES HAVE THE HIGHEST TOMATOMETER AND AUDIENCE SCORE AVERAGES
      In 2008, the MCU kicked off with Iron Man, which earned a 94% on the Tomatometer. In 2013, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. debuted on the ABC network and earned a 95% on the Tomatometer. In 2015, Daredevil made its debut on Netflix and scored 89%. On January 15th, 2021, WandaVision continued the trend of critically acclaimed debuts when it premiered on Disney+ to the tune of 91% on the Tomatometer and began a run of shows on the streamer that currently boasts a 90.3% Tomatometer and 90.1% Audience Score average. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, Loki, What If…?, Hawkeye, and Moon Knight have all impressed both audiences and critics, and together they have a higher critic and audience score average than the theatrically-released movies, Netflix shows, and other series released on ABC, Hulu and Freeform.
      Tomatometer Averages
      Disney+ Series: 90.3%

      Marvel is not flopping and and most of the disney plus shows did well and doing better then the dc hbo and cw shows on average for example.The only ones that did not do as well was ms.marvel and what if that still did well enough and only movies that flop from the mcu in phase 4 and 5 was ant-man 3 and eternals. I heard ant-man 3 may have made small profit after the big screen release.Oh and the mcu hulk film flop in phase 1. Most of The last mcu movies to most folks were not seen as mediocre by most folks .Wakanda forever and gotg 3 have made over 800 million and even thor love and thunder made over 700 million,so you and this guy in the video saying marvel is at it's lowest is wrong and on average phase 4 made more money then phase 1 and 2. Anyway dc is not rising.

    • @bricktwo5849
      @bricktwo5849 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Folks are who saying the mcu is in decline are the ones i seen so far with a agenda.
      The mcu maybe a decline from phase 3(because phase 3 Has made more money )but phase 4 is clearly making more money then phase 1 and 2 and the rt scores are higher. In fact the rt audience scores for phase 4 is higher then phase 3 if carefully take a look at the recent scores. Phase 4 is the most creative phase so far as well. The ones who are saying the mcu is in decline are those in the loud minority on the internet. You know the ones who say star wars is decline and clearly it's not,compared to prequels.It's clear as well that disney star wars has higher scores on average and made more money.
      Anyway the mcu is not in decline and most folks are enjoying phase 4 on average more then phase 1 and 2 and even 3 for example and it's not even over yet. The average rt score agrees and Phase 3 and 4 are the best mcu phases on average so far.
      Anyway phase 4 is doing way better on average then the dceu post justice league for example.
      ___
      some more reasons why it's not making as much money in the box office like phase 3 st one average(phase 4 is making more money then phase 1 and 2,current dceu,past dceu,sonyverse and fox-marvel.Two reasons,phase 4 has less movies at the box office,plus newer heroes,no big event avengers film so that means less solo movies making a billion or more,plus china and russia is out of the picture plus covid is still around etc..
      Note- the mcu does not need the x-men,Fantastic four or Galactus because the avengers movies are still coming out and on average the avengers stuff and related avengers stuff made more more.Of course under marvel studios x-men,Fantastic four Galactus will make more under disney/marvel studios then they did under fox but they will still not make has much much money as the avengers and avengers related stuff.The avengers are a greater and better team then the justice league and x-men.
      _
      Overall mcu quality has gone up IN PHASE 4 .Anybody remember ironfist and inhumans for example?I guess some folks here do not.
      Oh and wakanda forever is opened in china late so it could have made more. It would have even made more if russia and ukraine was still in picture.Anyway the film is not disappointment at the box office and would still be one of highest grossing superhero film and female superhero films worldwide and is the highest grossing female superhero film domestic and the second highest female superhero film worldwide after captain marvel.

    There is no such thing as Marvel fatigue, or superhero fatigue, it’s just bad writing fatigue. You cannot deny that the MCU has had good to great projects after Endgame (Far From Home, WandaVision, Loki S1, Shang-Chi, Hawkeye, No Way Home, Moon Knight, Ms Marvel, Werewolf By Night, Wakanda Forever, GotG Vol 3 & Loki S2), but those duds after Endgame have just made everyone think “the MCU is dead” (Falcon & the Winter Soldier, Black Widow, What If…?, Eternals, Multiverse of Madness, Love & Thunder, She-Hulk, Quantumania & Secret Invasion). The MCU is not “dead” and isn’t “dying”.

    A while someone criticized that many MCU productions feel like they only exist to setup something else (something that was usually limited to the post credit scenes). With many of the recent things I can see that. They feel kind of aimless, like someone was told to make up some alibi script to fit in some reference to future movies. Shows fizzle out without satisfying finale, like someone said "just wrap it up with a big CG fight and mention mutants somewhere".
    I hope they eventually remember that those movies need to also stand on their on, not just as piece of the puzzle.

    I believe people can have genre fatigue. And Quantumania was hot garbage. But. I think people also put unrealistic expectations on the current saga arc. The infinity saga was also super aimless until it wasn't. They were just movies in the same universe for a long, long time. They didn't feel like they were leading to something as big as what we eventually got. We just see it all now bc hindsight.
    Like... It was a long ride up the steep hill of the rollercoaster and we didn't know back then we were on a rollercoaster. People want to keep feeling the epic rush of infinity war and endgame, and we know we're on a rollercoaster now, but we still have to click clack back up to the top of the next coaster peak, put all the pieces in place, then we can crest and whoosh down the other side reaping the benefit of set up we don't yet know the significance of.
    Is the kang multiverse saga going to be as good as infinity saga? 🤷‍♀️ who knows. But I think trying to judge if the direction is right or if it has one before we know what the actual story is doesn't make sense to me.

      Basically I think bc people know what the MCU can really do now they are too impatient for feeling that finale high

    The current phase of MCU has been pretty uneven but Loki was the best of the shows and this feels like they are on the right track from the start.
    I feel like we may be dealing with a bootstrap paradox, or maybe its a predestination paradox? Time travel is silly but fun. Silvie saw slipping-Loki and seemed to have recently seen him, so it isn't the Silvie we saw at the end of ssn1. So it was probably future-Loki that prune the Loki she was looking at. But she also didn't seem to freak out when Loki got vaped so maybe she was looking at the future-Loki being the slipping-Loki.
    So a Loki that was stabilized was then around in the future to ensure that he could prune himself? Or maybe it was Hunter B15, Mobius, or Casey who pruned him? Or really anyone who is around in teh future that was on Loki's side, so probably not Renslayer or any of the TVA traditionalists that seem bent on continuing kang's mission to Prune the timelines.

    WandaVision was, by far, the best MCU Disney Plus show and deserved all its Emmy nominations. Loki was #2. But, other than the FINALE of She-Hulk, I thought every other show was very good. As for She-Hulk, the breaking of the 4th wall to that extent was just dumb- and the show's wokeness was over the top. I don't even like when Deadpool breaks the 4th wall. The Falcon and the Winter Soldier had a few weak spots but, definitely, had its good moments. Hawkeye was fantastic throughout, especially when Yelena showed up with the best blip scene in MCU history. Haley Steinfeld is fantastic in everything she does. Moon Knight should've been Emmy nominated for Oscar Issac who was brilliant. People talk negatively about Ms. Marvel - but I don't see it. I thought Iman Vellani was charming and the show certainly did spread itself thin in so many directions- but, overall, it worked and I'm looking forward to seeing her in The Marvels. I even liked Secret Invasion despite never liking the "Skrulls" theme before. But now I want more Skrulls. The 1st episode's surprise ending was excellent. Those complaining have no clue. This episode of Loki was fantastic.

    i haven't missed any marvel shows or movies but i agree not all of them were worth it. i understand not reacting to material you don't enjoy and i agree. a reaction spent just sh*tting on the show? nobody has time for that. which is why i also get why you stopped watching the witcher even though it was a series you enjoyed reading and looked forward to seeing in live action.

    There isn't any real Marvel fatigue for most people. Some of the most recent movies have just been poorly written. People don't enjoy bad movies whether it's MCU or not.

    I've loved every series and movie in Phase 4 and 5 except for Secret Invasion, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and What If...?. So no Marvel fatigue here, just 2 subpar series and 1 awfull series (Secret Invasion).

    If you can't explain why you have Marvel fatigue then its bc you have been made to have it bc you've seen & heard others say it. All these shows & films are different so it wouldn't make any sense to have fatigue from different things

      @KatSonny  ปีที่แล้ว

      Lol, no. We just haven’t been enjoying all the different movies and shows as much as we used to, and therefore aren’t looking forward to them as much either. Loki was a bit of an exception, as we really liked the first season.
      Trust me, I wish I was still as pumped about everything MCU as I was a couple of years ago, but I can’t force myself to feel that excitement again if it ain’t there. And it’s the same for Kat, if not more so. I don’t have more of an explanation than that, it’s just how we feel. And I assure you it’s not because others are saying it as well.

    Wait, all of the Marvel D+ you didn't like? You thought Moon Knight was bad? hmm I'm watching the wrong channel....

    • @KatSonny
      @KatSonny  ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I never said that. I really enjoyed Moon Knight, and thought Oscar Isaacs performance was amongst the best in the entire MCU. I even reacted to the series here on the channel, if you want to see for yourself.

      @@KatSonny You two started this video trashing all of the D+ Marvel shows, "all downhill" after the beginning, so that would include Moon Knight. All of the Marvel series were entertaining. Only She-Hulk and Secret Wars were not as good as they should have been. I called out your blanket statement b/c the rest of the shows didn't deserve that remark and now you say you enjoyed some of them...hmm ok.

    • @KatSonny
      @KatSonny  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@chainreactions5807 Yes that was a blanket statement, because we didn’t want to talk about all of them individually. I do personally think that none of them reached the highs of WandaVision or Loki S1 for example, but that doesn’t mean that I think they were outright bad. Us talking about the MCU not delivering as it used to is based off of what we hear and read others saying, and our personal opinions. It doesn’t negate your opinion, or anyone else who’s still enjoying most if not all of it. I am still going to watch all of it, because I like the MCU as a whole and am still invested, although not as much as I used to be.
