    Update 2: Thank you for all your Likes and positive comments. To my surprise, TH-cam has monetized my channel, and the video has made about $20 USD, enough to purchase another item to review! Thank you all so much. Take care.
    Update: Successfully returned the CS2011A for a refund with AliExpress. Disappointing that one didn't work out, as it's largely a solid performer. I still wonder if it was just my unit that had oversensitive protection, or if its a design issue. CS0702A/CS0802A remains awesome and my #1 recommendation for a small precision driver with a little extra kick. Link: s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DEfkOT5 or s.click.aliexpress.com/e/_DBnwPuT

      @@zycragodlmv2831 Same drill, different accessories. Edit: Update. The only difference I can see between CS0702 (reviewed) and CS0802 is the pocket clip on the 0802. Perhaps theres some internal difference, but nothing mentioned on specifications. And the A/B after the model just determines what case/accessories come with it. B has the most.

      @@zephirusplay If you're interested in power, go for the older one, the CS1901A. Its much thicker, heavier, but powerful, and still much lighter than any cordless drill or box big electric screwdriver.

    Excellent reviews.. unlike many other reviewers you are going into details and candidly talking about all the aspects and don't give any false information if you have not explored or experienced. It instills confidence to a prospective buyer and assures him that the reviewer is one amongst them and not a marketing agent of the seller. Please keep up the great job.. wishing you a happy new year 2025 with such amazing reviews and rewarding,too!👍🏾

    I've been through a few of these. After tearing apart the ones that broke and those that were indestructible I found the issue: *The gearbox ratio!*
    The ones that lasted (like my "WOWSTICK") had gearbox ratios that were small enough where the motor would stall before any of the gears would be stripped when stalled. Those that tried to add extra power by increasing the gear ratio, they all failed within about a week of use.
    Very usefully, all the ones I've taken apart have had motors and gearboxes which are interchangeable, and they're available online for just a couple of dollars! Which means that if you end up stripping one, you can then replace it with a decent ratio gearbox motor that will last.
    Anything above 200:1 is guaranteed to fail, anything below 100 to 1 is unnecessarily slow.

    • @CheapCheerful
      @CheapCheerful  11 วันที่ผ่านมา +1

      Super useful information, thank you! I've seen those motor/gearbox combos online, they all seem to look very similar. Great comment, thank you.

    Maybe mentioned but using a plastic adapter is torque limiting by nature as it will twist like a torsion bar. Using steel will offer more accurate data. Thanks for the reviews

    I'm here still using the original WOWstick from idk how long ago (I think that was 2016), but before they were sold with LED's or rechargeable on eBay. At first i was disappointed with the power but appreciated the lock to manually use it. After just a month i said, EF it and swapped out the 2 AAA with a spacer (small bolt with two locked nuts at the end) and single AAA Li-ion 3.7v battery.. massive difference and far better battery life. Best part is once it feels so weak that its completely obvious it needs to be charge it's at 3v, so the batteries don't get damaged. I still have the original 4 EBL batteries i got for it.

    I have a years-old ES120 and a new ES15S, I only need one for fine work as I have other drivers where higher torque is required (also my wrist!). The miniware drivers are well made except for the inclusion of the small OLED panel (and this applies to other drivers that use one as well). Those panels have a pretty short life expectancy and the one on the ES120 failed, gradually getting dimmer before dying completely. Reasonably easy to replace I guess - if you can find the part. Could not find one offered by the company but did find a generic one on a 4-pin PCB which I de-soldered and used as a replacement. Tip - Remember to desolder the battery before installing the new screen - ask me how I know. Still tempted by the CS0702A based on your findings on price and performance so thanks for the review.

      Interesting, I didn't know about the OLED limited life, good to know. The CS0702A/0802A is a great driver and set. Time will tell on longevity, but knowing creation space I'd expect it to be around at least a few years from now. Thanks for the feedback!

    I have the CreationSpace CS0601A, what I like is it has removable 14250 battery and the case can charge so I get a pair of battery for backup. I also have the Miniware ES15S, it's like a luxury tool for showing off but using it is enjoyable, good feeling in hand and I think only ES15S in this list has Impact so it actually acts as an Impact Driver instead of twisting your hand. I personal think these kind of tools should have only this power range, for bigger things I have bigger tools, more power is too easy to break the threads.

      Hello. Thank you for the feedback. Nothing on bits yet. Metallurgy is difficult and expensive so this is one of the few things I'd recommend going to a legit tool store and buying a brand name. Eg. WERA, Milwaukee, Sutton, others. They won't be cheap, but will last you a long time. Ideally something made in Germany (or most European countries), or Japan, Taiwan, etc.

    Very nice review, I like comparisons with multiple devices.
    29:02 : Maybe you could skip the Miniware ES15S definitively after you had a look to the review of Stonelab after 8 months of use. Too much money for such a non-durable device.
    Maybe you could give a try and review the following devices:

      Hello. This is a popular question. The only difference I can see between CS08 and CS07 is the CS08 has a clip on the pen (like to clip it on your shirt, as if it was a real pen), which seems kind of silly. No functional difference, all the specifications appear the same.

    • @CheapCheerful
      @CheapCheerful  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      All the 'precision' ones like CS0702A are 4mm or 5/32" socket. It includes adapter for smaller bits too.
      The power-precision like CS1901A are 6mm or 1/4".

    Do you have a best rec for a 1/4" drive electric screwdriver? I mostly work on 10th and 1/5th scale bashers(X-Maxx) with a set of MIP Speed hex drivers. I hear good things about the Dewalt w/gyro, but man is it expensive! I need good power, but something that won't blow the threads out when it hits home.

    • @CheapCheerful
      @CheapCheerful  5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Yes, so the 'Power Precision' I mention in this video are 1/4". I'd recommend Creation Space CS1901A. I use on 1/10th bashers, its got plenty of torque to move screws, but no where near enough to break threads. Best I think for a relatively cheap price ($30).
      See its part here: th-cam.com/video/DfiWH-6eoxU/w-d-xo.html

      If you can ever find a good sale on the dewalt gyro screwdriver with the adjustable handle is phenomenal, being able to switch between straight and pistol grip, 15 torque settings plus an additional max setting allows you to do lighter work without damaging threads on lower settings and having a decent amount of power on higher and the gyro is actually a lot better than expected with your ability to control speed, the light is convenient and battery lasts fairly long but comes with a backup battery if you buy the kit, with all that said, it’s a steep price which is hard to bite the bullet for but is as good as it gets
      Just wanted to add, I know you asked for a 1/4” drive but it also works really well with precision projects if you have the right 4mm adapter, the lowest torque ratings are low enough to prevent damage

    I mean no offensewith this comment, but there's WAAAY too much inconsistency with holding the torguemeter and screwdriver in hand. Both HAS to be locked completely down with clamps or similiar to truely test the torgue. Otherwise you might either absorb or add torgue to the test with your hands. None of these tests can be trusted in any way with such a terrible methology.

    • @CheapCheerful
      @CheapCheerful  2 หลายเดือนก่อน +12

      Nope, 100% agree. I'm just a tiny channel doing this for fun, but yes to do this really scientifically I'd need to bolt it down in a rig. That's good feedback, I will take that into account during my next test. That said, I've had people also argue that torque is meaningless with precision drivers, so yeah, can't please everyone ;) Appreciate the constructive feedback. Take care.

      I totally disagree - He is a human being trying tools with his hands. His human impression is what I’m after, I don’t have clamps for hands. The “data” is far less important than his personal impression for this level tool.

    • @heine010290

      @ Whether you agree or not, or whats important to you, does not change the fact, that his test, is scientifically highly flawed. The whole point of the tests is to rank and determine their powerlevel. But with this flawed methodology, the rankings could be sigficantly wrong. #1 could be #3, 4 or even 5 with just a slightly twist or turn of his wrists. And same goes in oppossite direction that #4 could be #1. It just simply can't be trusted. I don't expect him to have professional torguetest equipment, not at all. But a small 2nd-hand table-mounted clamp or a bunch of strips/cable ties costs next to nothing and would improve the credibility of the test by miles.

    These are not made to loosen with the motor you manually break it loose and use the motor to take it out. You dont want to use the motor to break it loose because you can strip the small screws then your 1 min job now takes 30min to get the broken screw out

    I don't understand the emphasis on torque. If I need torque, I'd use an impact driver. What I would look for is something that feels good in the hand, and handles like a normal precision screwdriver--which in most cases means slim and light--but with enough torque to spin a loose screw faster than I can, to save on the repetition, and with a clutch to lock up when manual torquing is needed. Other than that, I'd be looking at durability--it should survive a fall from desk/counter height.

    • @CheapCheerful
      @CheapCheerful  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Thanks for the feedback. It depends on the use case, but yeah the problem is many on the market (with 0.2Nm) can't undo a typical electronics screw except for the smallest ones inside tablets/phones (as demonstrated with the Xiaomi Precision torque test). So you fall back to manual mode, which is fine, except when you find it doesn't have a clutch! (eg. 28-in-1 Kingduin). As a result, many began seeking drivers with higher torque (a big concern from commenters in last video), however clutch, size/weight (hand feel), and price are also important and included in the table. Each one was checked with calipers, scale, torque gauge, etc. But thank you for the comment, I didn't think to explain this when making the video, it teaches me I need to watch my biases! Thanks :)

      @@CheapCheerful You're still missing the point. There are regular screwdrivers where torque might matter a little, but for a precision screwdriver, I don't need it to have enough torque to loosen a screw. I can do that manually easily. I just need it to unwind that loose screw faster than I can, and otherwise handle and feel like a small precision screwdriver. When I'm opening up a laptop, and moving a precision screwdriver from tiny screw to tiny screw, I don't want it to have the size and bulk (or worst) of a regular screwdriver. Sure, you found one that didn't have a clutch and that's useful to know, but wasted a bunch of time torque testing them.

    • @CheapCheerful
      @CheapCheerful  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      @@kchiem Oh I see. You don't mind if it cannot 'crack' the screw, you're happy to do that by hand. So long as it has enough RPM to zip out the screw faster than you can do it by hand, then you're happy (plus ergonomics, etc). The reason I focused on torque was because it was the most complained about problem with the Xiaomi, as people like myself want it to both crack and undo the screw. Everyone has different priorities. For you, I'd think they could design a screwdriver similar to the micro drill I tested at 31:29. Check it out if you have'nt. It's extremely thin and high RPM. Very little torque, but redesigned as a screwdriver I think it could meet your preference closer to anything else on the market. Heck they could probably build it into the size of a Wiha Precision screwdriver. That would be awesome.

      @@CheapCheerful We run a volunteer driven repair café in Denmark and for us, torque is key when we use precision screwdrivers. Most often people use an iFixit set, when they repair an item. This is because the bits are superior to most other sets and the manual drive is best in class. When we need to use a precision screwdriver, it's because we either have to open a product with 100 screws or because our guest doesn't have the strength in hand to "break" a screw by hand.
      We started with a regular 0.35 Nm precision screwdriver from Aliexpress, but it was worth nothing. Being able to use the same drive for all screws is a must. We saw your other video and bought the Creationspace 1901A which is now our favourite. We have two problems with the device though.
      1: The round design of the product is a problem, when people with limited hand strength are using the device. We designed a 3D printed cover for the device which solved this problem: www.printables.com/model/947204-creation-space-cs1900a-cover
      2: The torque wheel in the bottom is not the greatest design choice. It's very easy to change without noticing, because there are no steps in the wheel. Also it might happen, that if the device spins in the hand, it shuts itself off. A button on the side as the newer small torque models would be better.
      But thanks a lot for the review. If you could be interested in testing more repair café tools, we would love to share our ideas for different products. On our website, we are also just started to share our experience with the piles of tools we have bought over the years: reparations.konsortiet.dk/guides/
