As a nurse back in the late 1980’s, I took care of a lady who was so sick with this. She was bed ridden with it and it impacted her spine. She was not able to straighten out her back and just existed in a fetal position. It was awful for her.
How awful for your patient. I have a somewhat similar story. As a student nurse, I recognized a new patient on our rheumatology ward, who had a very painful wrist, and it was unclear what it was. After a week of testing, it came back positive for syphilis. With the proper treatment, she made a full recovery. It was scary, though, that she belonged to the same circle of people we both had sex with. This was pre HIV (1981), and all women used oral contraceptives, so we stupidly rarely used codoms. Luckily, I tested negative.
Similar story. I was a nurse in the early 80s and we had a lady with unknown cause of her cardiac issues and also skeletal problems. Turns out to be syphillis. She died later that month when she arrested. She was only in her 40s
I was chatting to my gynecologist and she said that since 2015 she seen increased cases of STDs, coinciding with the rise of apps like Tinder. Coincidence? I think not.
I live in Kazakhstan and funny fact about our health care system is that we get checked for syphilis multiple times in a lifetime. I'm 25 and have been checked like 5-6 times already. My gynecologist was running this tests every time I came for a regular yearly visit, even though risk is extremely low for me 😂
Why multiple test does some people in Kazakhstan Ok to have premarital sex or engaged in promiscuous life style? Is Kazakhstan a conservative Muslim country
@pinoyRN67 promiscuous lifestyle is not okay in any culture of the world, I guess. Kazakhstan is not the most conservative country. We have no laws regarding sex before marriage or something, and society is fine with that. Yes, religion is important, and a lot of people are really conservative, so it's even funnier that the healthcare system works this way 🤣
This was the first sti i ever had and it went undiagnosed for about 8 months of secondary synptoms. I was so ill and my immunity so low that i caught Glandular Fever ontop of it. A viral and bacterial infection ruined my body for 8 months. My rash did not go onto my palms and i also had Bells Pausey as a result. I couldnt eat; i lost allot of weight and at the end i had telogen Aphluevium (sp) and all my hair fell out. I cannot believe after all the tests i did for hiv and everything else that not one doctor tested me for this! It was the worst illnes ive ever had. So please be aware of these additional symptoms you may get and if you ever go undiagnosed for more then a month of illness get a full sti screen and save yourself the pain!

When I was 18 years old , for a living I used to go to blood banks to donate blood for food vouchers as I was very poor back in those days. Interesting enough, on one occasion, they called me back in after donating blood and they told me that after they've tested my blood, it came positive for syphilis?! My face dropped but at the same time I knew they must be wrong as I didn't start being sexually active until a year later. Like I told they, surely they're mistaken unless I'm stupid and maybe I contracted it by thin air otherwise it's impossible. Upon hearing what I said, they re-done the test and they've apologised and said that the original antigens they saw in my blood were the same that would come up if you had the flu or a cold and it mimics the same antibodies that would appear in a syphilis infection. I was shocked that wow I didn't know that antibodies aren't always spot on. But hey, in the end, I knew I was right and they was wrong. Forgot to mention, I did have a nasty flu a week before donating
I also tested positive - and they are still doing confirmatory test - I'm shock hearing that its positive knowing that I am not sexually active.. I only had one partner in the last six months.. and I always get tested every 6 months - the case manager told me that its always positive -if your initial result is positive - I had a cold before I got tested and have a cold on the day of my test... I hope its the reason why I'm positive!
@@darrielsaintz3080 I've been told that many viruses and infections have similar antibodies that turn up positive in the blood giving a false positive result. So I'd say, test again as the 1st results can be wrong. Best wishes xx

One important, sometimes overlooked aspect of syphilis testing is that if you have some sort of autoimmune (Lupus, Hashimotos, etc.) with Anti-phospholipid antibodies, ANA, etc. you can receive false positive test results. So, it's important that your doctor knows all of your diagnoses so that they can order the more extensive/correct tests.
Yes I was one of those people. I had a positive syphilis test, which seemed so odd to me given how infrequently I had sexual partners. I finally saw a doctor wo gave me an ANA screen, including DSDNA, and both were positive. Turns out I have lupus.
That's why it's important for PCPs to order confirmatory tests along with titers. For example, RPR titers with TPPA confirmatory tests to rule out false positives.
I suspect other Spirochette illnesses may show up in Syphilis testing... like Lyme. So if you test positive and have an autoimmune disease, you may also want to ask for a Lyme PCR.
I was tested for this as part of visa process going to the states. I thought this disease was just in the history of mankind that was eradicated hundreds years ago. Thanks for the educational video.

You would think it would have been eradicated by now. There should be a law where the whole world has to get tested for it and all ppl who have it get treated immediately. Then we may be able to get rid of these types of nasty bugs.
@@nategin9009 also std can be caught not just through sex! Fact! It’s wrong of them to say only std when the evidence shows it’s close contact for bacterial and virus std. especially herpes warts and any syphilis sores and clap n gon: if you have weak immune and weak skin you can get it via touching their infected bodily fluids. Even hiv can be caught not sexually but of course it’s rare but can absolutely still happen. Best ppl with hiv stay on their meds so their viral load is untectable so it can infect others. Or just stay away from ppl unless they wear a mask cos if they accidentally spit in one’s eyes on face with open would that’s all it takes.
I was tested positive with syphilis last july 2023. I had the symptoms since may 2023, unknown red spots on my feet sole and palm of my hands and generally feel weak. I kept asking myself since may 2023 until the day i got tested why i always feel sleepy even i slept 8 hours a day and had proper meal and nutrition. I went to our local healthcare ang got jabbed in the butt with penecillin G. The doctor told me that I have a lenient syphilis. Same!! I had symptoms April 2023 got treated June 2023 . Has a full body rash . But does the rash go away I’m currently still waiting for it to fully go away😭
There are Super STDs going around for several years now. I work with a state health dept here in the states and its close to an 800% increase in super syphilis. These "Super" stds are stds that have started becoming immune to some antibiotics. Syphilis has a blood draw test, and is treated with a shot in the butt. Gonorrhea is also becoming "super". It and chlamydia have a swab test or urine test. Pills for the chlamydia, shot for Gonorrhea. Hope this helps people who are confused or are unsure of the testing process
Funny story, I was in Pensacola and a large, unkempt and half-naked black woman was taking a poop on a street corner. Not even 100 yards from her was a sign warning about drug-resistant gonorrhea.
There is a major syphilis outbreak in my city. It's been ongoing for at least the past year, and I live in a metropolitan city you've definitely heard of. The health department is on it and still people act ignorant.
... Major? Based on what? Remember all news is blown out of proportion. Sure the rates are going up. But as someone who is considered VERY high risk of all STIs I've had under 10 in the last 10 years. Syphilis once. And the fact that we KNOW that the rates are going up is actually a good thing. It means more high risk people are being tested more often. That they are being treated quickly and are not spreading things around as much as those who do not get tested. We saw this happening with HIV infections. By and large, the higher risk someone is the more likely they are to be responsible and get tested.
@@NMW80 I think I wrote that in response to him saying some people don't have symptoms for a long time. .... meaning they didn't test. Although I do know some medical test give a false positive or false negative reading.
I got told by a nurse that works in a free community std clinic where i live in New Zealand that there are now strains of stds that no antibiotic can fix . And I'm not judging but being promiscuous has dire consequences
Yeah, there have been a worrying array of trends starting almost a decade ago that has made many of these problems severely elevated (going just by the data)
@@DUES_EX Judgements are good. We need judgments so we can clearly define the line of what is acceptable/unacceptable behavior in society. If you are participating in high-risk sexual behavior and acquire and spread syphilis, that behavior should be stigmatized because it causes harm. It is often the taxpayers who end up having to pay for the treatment for these individuals because often these individuals cannot afford to pay for it themselves. It is not fair that we have to pay with our money to treat syphilis someone has acquired because they are reckless and lack good judgment.

As a nurse, patients presenting with Syphilis are given one injection deep within each buttock. These shots are very painful, so the specific antibiotic also has a pain reliever mixed in the syringe. The needles are long and heavy duty. So protect yourselves, wear protection and don’t engage in risky behavior - STDs are spreading in the older population who think because they are too old to get pregnant, they don’t need condoms. If you say no to protection, you maybe saying hello to Herpes, Chlamydia, Genital Warts, ( a precursor to cancer ) Syphilis or Gonorrhea.

Is any further assessment being done by your clinic relating to the stage of syphilis the patient is in? Sometimes a 2nd or 3rd injection is indicated. They should also be assessing for neurosyphilis which would require intravenous injection.
This type of video is very important since "today's society" has deemed sex education in the schools is too extreme for students, young adults to be exposed to this type of subject matter! I'm from an era where not only sex education but the consequences of drug abuse were taught in schools Thank you for creating and presenting this clip for "public consumption"!
The reason is because sex education on kids under 18 has proven to be useless. Even with sex education available in schools in the past.. people were having babies at young ages as ever before. STDs spread as ever before. Condom usage did not increase. In fact, exposing kids to sex education actually makes them want to have sex even more! It’s better to use the time actually educating them on core curriculum, and getting their minds off of sex with extra curricular activities.
If you are a historian, reading about the old west. Syphilis happened to the common sex workers like prostitutes or "soiled doves".it was noted in slaves at that time and the American Indian. Many infected people didn't know they had syphilis. Behavioral change could happen further as they got older and /or when the families placed a love one in an asylum and even there were people contracting it in fecal matter, urine, or even people who were taken advantaged of in these asylums.
@@ou1814PV (the sexually transmitted ones) in a nutshell: If you are a woman, 50%+ chance that you have some of the strains. If you are a man who has sex with men, 70% chance. Most men who get it on their penis have no clue. Same with honestly probably 90% of people that get it vaginal or anally. You have to be very hands on with those areas to feel a wart.. And on top of that, most people never even get warts on the first place. Most people clear the infection in a few years. A very small percentage people who get HPV can end up with pre-cancerous cells. A very small percentage of those people develop cancer. Moral of the story, look for any wierd bumps on any penis you come in contact with. If you have receptive anal or vaginal sex, get a pap smear often (how often depends on your sex life). Also important, there currently is no pap smear for oral /throat HPV nor any really good regularly used way to look for it or precancerous cells... And oral /throat cancer caused by HPV is fast surpassing the amount of cancer caused from smoking.... So start pushing the medical industry to find better ways to check for it. And my numbers are a bit off but close enough. HPV is extremely prevalent.
I worked with men in social work and a man had neurological symptoms of the sti. His personality totally changed, he could barely stand or walk and he kept laughing . He had to go for multiple treatment sessions at the hospital.
As a nurse I've seen people living with the later stages and I've watched people decline and die. We've had family members want to accuse staff of making their loved ones worse until they find out the reason for the sudden decline in their loved one. It can be hard to accept for some and others know instantly that it's true. My guess is that they have already seen it in another family member and now it all makes sense. It's sad really.
That fucked up they tryna blame the nurse like they did it no if they stop doing hookup it wouldn’t happen it not fair to blame someone that didn’t do anything that really fuck up i woulda been pissed
@lilizzay17 , well if it clarifies a little, the diagnoses was not known upon admittance and then as new symptoms would be noticed and more tests run, then we get the neurosyphilis diagnosis. Which of course explains the decline. Sometimes we can't tell them.
I never understood this bacteria in class but you made it so easy to understand. Thank you! I'd appreciate if you could go over every bacteria taught in med school?
If I may, a little difficult that..... Please note, kindly, bacteria and viruses are ever multiplying, ever changing and (infrequently) virulent. If having hay fever or allergies of any kind, advanced antibiotics may do more harm than good.... Most healthcare specialists believe in the power of 'Recyclable Medicine' -- from 1st generation to latest generation and then reverse..... retrograde.... Thanks much (to IHA) and You.
I have never had symptoms but now I'm worried because I'm pregnant. I had some risky behaviors a decade ago, but now not at all. I hope my doc doesn't think I'm crazy if I ask for a test!

I have been researching my family genealogy for over 25 years and have found out some interesting information! First of all, I have copies from a journal that belonged to my grandmother's cousin. She states that her husband gave her syphilis and she had to be put in a mental institution! This was in the 1920s before penicillin! Maybe she had the third type of syphilis that you were talking about?? The second thing is about my great grandfather. His death certificate stated that he died of paralysis ??? This was a 1925. After looking at the code written on the death certificate, it indicated syphilis!!
Was it GPI, General Paresis of the Insane which is another name for advanced neuro syphillis when it gets very active and causes a dementia type illness. When I did my psych training back in the 80s after if did my RGN training there was a large population of old men and women in the psycho geriatric ward who this was their diagnosis. Infection probably dated back to 1st and 2nd world wars.

this video uncovered memories from a situation that happened to me a few years back i donated blood for a (relatively) distant family menber, some time after we went there to get the blood test results due to the fact the blood i had donated was tested for stuff that can affect the recipient of the transfusion of blood, i opened it up and read it trougtly all were well until i passed my eyes over the syphilis category the type A was marked negative(as one would expect usually if you are familiar with the proper precautions) but when i looked at the second type b what i saw made me stop talking to my mother, on the paper marked as follows: syphilis type b/2d(po) my mother looked at me and asked me what was wrong and i stared at her for a bit and she followed my eyes to the paper and she saw it and went silent too i looked her in the eyes and told her that *i needed* another blood test sinse i had never had intercourse at that time so that positive appearing out of the blue in a blood test for a blood donation *really disturbed me* i did not understand how&why exactly it appeared on that blood test but we did a second test and we were relived that it was a false positive on the first test the second test showed that my blood was 100%clean from stds(syphilis) and some reagent for the tests may had some anomaly in its composition and that may have caused a false positive on my first blood test results stay vigilant and safe out there everyone
Such stigma.. lol. Even if it was really positive… big deal? It’s treatable with an antibiotic shot.. just like any other infection. There’s no shame in getting an ear infection from spending a day in a pool.. or catching a Flu from someone sneezing on you. Why such stigma because you passed a bacteria via sex? If it happens it happens… do what you do for any infection. Try not to spread it & get treatment 🙄
It's important as young people to be abstinent and not sleep around. These diseases are not a joke. Plis make more videos about these diseases. I am learning a lot.
The scary thing is that everyone lies about them. So many people have them but no one will never know, at the same time the culture promotes all these sexual practices - knowing that these things are so widespread. These things should be openly talked about.
It was an excellent insight of you we’re really appreciated your concern but I’ll found out not just young people were’should all young and old people are in the same boat Life it’s better and safer when we had God in our daily live 🙏🏻🥰
Let’s be real, young people aren’t going to be abstinent and there’s no reason for them to be. The important thing is using protection, being honest with partners about STDs, and getting tested regularly.
No, it is important to test yourself together with your partner before sex. Abstinence won't help you if your partner doesn't also abstain and you can't know that.
An important and informational video. Spirochetes are very nasty little creatures. I read somewhere a while back that neurosyphilis can develop IMMEDIATELY after infection and does NOT necessarily manifest ONLY after secondary or tertiary stages. Some prominent people have died from neurosyphilis, and apparently it is most unpleasant. Friedrich Nietzsche died from it, as did Winston Churchil''s father, Lord Randolph, who was a leading British politician, and chancellor of the Exchequer. Randolph's erratic and bizarre behaviour in the later stages of neurosyphilis wrecked his political career, and emotionally traumatized the young Winston.
That's precisely what Alan MacDonald exposed with Lyme that goes to the brain and heart using filarial worms as city bus systems to get them to their workplace.
I thought this was impossible just like my medical doctors told me not until I purchased the effective herbal medicine from Herbalist Doctor Kingsley which I made use of and got cured of herpes genital
Doctors don't really like to treat and test for stds. They dread the troublesome lab test sending process and the follow up contact tracing procedures if the results are positive. Some of them also like to bring up moral when it isn't necessary. Instead of addressing and focusing on treatments first they go judge and attack the patients lifestyles instead. When stds are such a common and widespread occurrence these kind of attitude just work against the quick detecting and treating process instead.
That’s very true. It’s best to seek care from a county or state health department, whom actually care about preventing the spread. Primary Care practices are ignorant, couldn’t care less, and may not even assess for STDs when you’re presenting symptoms (i.e. they’ll prescribe a generic skin rash ointment for a Syphilis rash without even testing for syphilis).
One thing he didn't mention: Once you have gotten Syphilis once you will always test positive for the default standard test they use to detect it. The default is to look for the presence of ANY antibodies to the bacteria in your blood. You have to get a different test to see if you end up getting it again... And you can. Beyond that; As someone who is gay and considered VERY high risk of STIs, I gotta say they are much less common then most people think. I've been very high risk for 10 years. I've gotten around 10 STIs in that time period. Syphilis once. Sure, I bet most people think that getting them that many times is a lot. But, it's not if you factor in my sex life. But, still, if you are sexually active with multiple partners and don't use condoms, get tested for everything at least every 3 months. If you are very active, monthly. It's for your benefit as well as others. Oooh and also, if you are a receptive sexual partner, maker SURE that you test any hole a penis goes in for gonorrhea and chlamydia. They require site specific testing. Anal and throat are swabs. I'm not sure about vaginal. Penises just need urine testing. This is because G and C don't spread throughout the body or into the blood quickly for a VERY VERY long time and by the time they do, you're gonna be horribly sick.
@@illustriousmonster Surely this depends on the definition / ennumeration of 'very high risk'. That said, there should be no reason for complacency. High-, medium- or low-risk, get tested regularly. It only takes one!
@@illustriousmonster , actually it is. Most people these days are like, "You'll get an STI if you even have sex ONCE without a condom." and it's just statistically untrue. Sure, you might, but the chances are very slim. But on the flip side, if you do have unprotected sex; yes get tested regularly. But don't be freaked out about the potential for getting an STI. The more people who get tested the better off we all are because it means less spread.
That's like a a Corona cell trying to convince you that covid 19 is fake. You are at high risk, contracted 1 sti per year, and is trying to tell people it's not common when since around 2014 or the era of e dating has been on the rise, STDs/STIs are getting more and more common?
Working in healthcare with people in theirs 40s never get test for this and they going raw with younger people like 10-20 y younger, it’s so sad to see that people who support to know how to protect themselves choose their emotions over this

In the same time when we use that verb we don't mean anything about the disease or any STDs or sexual intercourse. It's 100% used to convey anger. It's used by everyone, even the simple people not knowing the first thing about the disease. It's extremely interesting that tertiary syphilis had such an impact in the past that the verb is still used today to accuse someone of being too angry and/or crazy or to convey that we ourselves are too angry and irrational!
In 1932, the USPHS, working with the Tuskegee Institute, began a study to record the natural history of syphilis. It was originally called the “Tuskegee Study of Untreated Syphilis in the Negro Male” (now referred to as the “USPHS Untreated Syphilis Study at Tuskegee”). The study initially involved 600 Black men - 399 with syphilis, 201 who did not have the disease. Participants’ informed consent was not collected. Researchers told the men they were being treated for “bad blood,” a local term used to describe several ailments, including syphilis, anemia, and fatigue. Regarding the original comment here in the Netherlands in general the test is covered by the basic mandatory health insurance through the GP ("huisarts" as we known them). There are anonymous options too but obviously not covered by insurance as far as I'm aware. And the public health service (GGD) does it for free for certain populations like people below 25 who don't want to go through the GP (probably to avoid parental issues), sex workers and also men who have sex with other men. What, so permanent citizens of a country don't have STDs? Talk about scape goating. We each have to be rsponsible for our own health and not always blame others. If *everyone* was careful there would be no STDs
I would love a followup about people who don't actually have syphillis, but who get a false positive result in blood donation screens. Such is the case with me; as further tests show I don't actually have it. I've never even been considered high risk for syphillis (only 2 hetero partners ever, never had a single STD) but due to the inability of Red Cross to discern between true and false positives, I'm one false positive away from being permanently deffered from donating. It breaks my heart because I just wanted to help save lives by donating blood - but I feel so gross and dirty having to face false positive results threatening my ability to donate, despite never even having had syphillis.
@BlkOnyx0508 I did test slightly positive for ANA once, but I was never diagnosed further since a retest was negative. It is actually something I always wondered about and whether it could be related.

About 50% of people with Syphilis have no symptoms. In 2001, fewer than 6,000 cases of Syphilis were reported, but presently, 1.6 million cases of Syphilis are reported each year in the US, or 266 more times people (Daily Mail, 2023) So, Syphillis has increased by 265,000 % from 2001 to 2021 The US population was 285 million in 2001 and 332 million in 2021, an increase of (332 - 285)/285 *100 = 47/285* 100 =0 .165 * 100 = 16.5% So, though the US population only increased by 16.5%, the number of reported Syphilis increased by 265,000 percent

I started my nursing career in 1976. I was an ER nurse. I lost track of how many times I gave 2.4mil units of penicillin in each butt cheek.
I had a pt who had never gotten it treated. It went to his brain and he had psychosis
That's so sad :(
Similar story.

No coincidence!

I live in Kazakhstan and funny fact about our health care system is that we get checked for syphilis multiple times in a lifetime. I'm 25 and have been checked like 5-6 times already. My gynecologist was running this tests every time I came for a regular yearly visit, even though risk is extremely low for me 😂
That's interesting information. Thanks for sharing!

Cheers so much 😊❤

Sure the rates are going up. But as someone who is considered VERY high risk of all STIs I've had under 10 in the last 10 years. Syphilis once.
And the fact that we KNOW that the rates are going up is actually a good thing. It means more high risk people are being tested more often. That they are being treated quickly and are not spreading things around as much as those who do not get tested.
We saw this happening with HIV infections. By and large, the higher risk someone is the more likely they are to be responsible and get tested.

Yeah, there have been a worrying array of trends starting almost a decade ago that has made many of these problems severely elevated (going just by the data)
You should judge. Judgements give structure to society.

Yeah they won't teach them about this, but they'll tell the kids they can get their sexual organs swapped out for the opposite sex. 😢
But why ..? 😢
The reason is because sex education on kids under 18 has proven to be useless. Even with sex education available in schools in the past.. people were having babies at young ages as ever before. STDs spread as ever before. Condom usage did not increase. In fact, exposing kids to sex education actually makes them want to have sex even more!

@@bobbibuttons8730 I have no idea. I remember my mother telling me he "lost his mind" and didn't know who anyone was.
The death certificate had a number and not a letter code.
this video uncovered memories from a situation that happened to me a few years back
i donated blood for a (relatively) distant family menber, some time after we went there to get the blood test results due to the fact
the blood i had donated was tested for stuff that can affect the recipient of the transfusion of blood, i opened it up and read it trougtly all were well until i passed my eyes over the syphilis category the type A was marked negative(as one would expect usually if you are familiar with the proper precautions) but when i looked at the second type b what i saw made me stop talking to my mother, on the paper marked as follows: syphilis type b/2d(po)
my mother looked at me and asked me what was wrong and i stared at her for a bit and she followed my eyes to the paper and she saw it and went silent too i looked her in the eyes and told her that *i needed*
another blood test sinse i had never had intercourse at that time so that positive appearing out of the blue in a blood test for a blood donation *really disturbed me*
i did not understand how&why exactly it appeared on that blood test but we did a second test and we were relived that it was a false positive on the first test
the second test showed that my blood was 100%clean from stds(syphilis) and some reagent for the tests may had some anomaly in its composition and that may have caused a false positive on my first blood test results
stay vigilant and safe out there everyone
Such stigma.. lol. Even if it was really positive… big deal? It’s treatable with an antibiotic shot.. just like any other infection. There’s no shame in getting an ear infection from spending a day in a pool.. or catching a Flu from someone sneezing on you. Why such stigma because you passed a bacteria via sex? If it happens it happens… do what you do for any infection. Try not to spread it & get treatment 🙄
I want to highly recommend *MR OBALAR* for curing me of genital HPV with his natural herbs.❤❤
Young people? Whole “Adults “ husbands are the most ones passing stds to their wives.
I believe Al Capone also died from the effects of being infected with Treponema pallidum.
Hell yeah it took out the right people then.
Awwww poor Winston.

Well, they offer std testing at a low price. Just google std testing.
Beyond that;
As someone who is gay and considered VERY high risk of STIs, I gotta say they are much less common then most people think.
"I've been very high risk for 10 years. I've gotten around 10 STIs in that time period. " THAT'S NOT CONSIDERED A "LOT LESS COMMON"
10 STI's wtf mate?
That's like a a Corona cell trying to convince you that covid 19 is fake.
You are at high risk, contracted 1 sti per year, and is trying to tell people it's not common when since around 2014 or the era of e dating has been on the rise, STDs/STIs are getting more and more common?
Working in healthcare with people in theirs 40s never get test for this and they going raw with younger people like 10-20 y younger, it’s so sad to see that people who support to know how to protect themselves choose their emotions over this

Actually in Greek we have the word (crudely translated at best here by me) "syphilize" and "syphilized" meaning i got extremely angry and/or irrational.

In exchange for taking part in the study, the men received free medical exams, free meals, and burial insurance…😢😢😢6

This is exactly why knowing body count is important. Do not allow anyone to shame you into not asking.
Imagine for not wanting to be judged being a hoe. Aka being held accountable
@@DUES_EXit’s not even about body count. some men are just so damn misogynistic and disgusting that they would have had sex with 10+ women but a woman should either be a virgin or have 1 body. it’s not about being a hoe some mfs are just very judgmental and can act really disgusting about it
This why you ask for a medical test result. My second ex passed me one std by being unfaithful.
1. People LIE (men lie so much, it is disgusting)
2. It s not the body count, you have to get the std information!!!

Some cities also have anonymous, free STD clinics where you can be tested for no cost. Thailand and Australia have these clinics. UK and Europe probably have them. USA I am not sure about, probably not.
Did you know now new York has higher rates of STDs then Texas . I don't know if it's because they don't 😘 Ed but abstinence only instead.
No idea how it goes when treatment is needed but I assume it's covered by the same insurance.
@@osmosisjones4912 Is that based on statistics of people diagnosed/treated compared to the total population? Or based on an actual representative random sample of the population or some other indirect method statisticians came up with to approximate the actual prevalence?
It's often hard to compare such metrics directly if it's the first item between two places with different policies and information gathering.
It's too socialist of a concept for US.

Oh and he had a baby due around the same time as this child. I don’t know if that other child got infected but he definitely got his wife and the baby/now adult has lifelong issues. They are surprisingly still married but she definitely hates him. Syphilis is no joke.
I knew Syphilis was a bacteria, but I didn't know it was actually curable! That's reassuring to know even if prevention is the most important step.
MOST bacterial infections can be cured it's viral infections that aren't ie: COV-ID 19 & HIV
Keep in mind this covers the typical varieties. There are also some locations/people with "super" variants of some STDs like syphilis which can't be cured by antibiotics. Prevention is for sure very important

Do you have an autoimmune disorder?
@BlkOnyx0508 I did test slightly positive for ANA once, but I was never diagnosed further since a retest was negative. It is actually something I always wondered about and whether it could be related.

About 50% of people with Syphilis have no symptoms.
In 2001, fewer than 6,000 cases of Syphilis were reported, but presently, 1.6 million
cases of Syphilis are reported each year in the US, or 266 more times people (Daily Mail, 2023)
So, Syphillis has increased by 265,000 % from 2001 to 2021
The US population was 285 million in 2001 and 332 million in 2021,
an increase of (332 - 285)/285 *100 = 47/285* 100 =0 .165 * 100 =
16.5%
So, though the US population only increased by 16.5%, the number of reported Syphilis
increased by 265,000 percent
