Johan Glans is one of the most well-known comedians in Sweden. I really enjoy his work because it's mostly very friendly and sweet. He doesn't do dirty and rough jokes like others.
So good, hadn’t seen that for many years. Still, whenever anyone say “kaka” I reflexively respond with “en kaka?! 😀 På en torsdag, … blir det tårta?” Brilliant!
This is my subtitled video from when I was 19! I'm 30 now, and if I remember correctly I wanted the line about "candy for geezers" to be quick since his delivery in Swedish is quick, so I think I consulted Wikipedia and Google Translate to find a word that kind of fits the word for old man that he used, "gubbe". These days I'm married to a native English speaker and every time I say "geezer" out loud I think of these subtitles that I wrote ten years ago! Anwyay, despite the semi bad translation (and iMovie subtitles) it's still so nice to see someone is still enjoying the video!
He is very knowledgeable about Star Wars. He won a competition on television when he was about 12 years old. He is probably Sweden's best stand-up comedian.
Gubbe Nominative Gubba Genitive So actual translation should be Old Man's Sweets. And to be fair, the word gubbagodis doesn't exist in Swedish, however it does exist in Scanian, because we still have Genitive case, and it would still be a word in Bothnian(Bondska) as well. But it's not a proper word in Swedish. Only a few words that are in the Genitive case exists in proper Swedish, such as Kyrkogård, and they're about as rare in proper Swedish as the Dative words that are some odd 500+ year old such as Lagom and Huse.
Johan is absolutely one of the best! 😅 He's done a few show's in English. You should find those instead.. a lot of he's jokes in this one is definitely for a swedish Audience..
I have of course seen starwards.. and.. I HAVE seen this one before.. but this time is the first time when I saw the "Chebacca"-skit.. where I realized that Chewbacca grunting, and people understanding.. "Have Princess Leia been kidnapped???".. SERIOUSLY carry a lot of similarities with.. Well: The ones who gets it get it: "Have little timmy fallen down the well????"..
Björn Gustavsson is one of our very best, even better than Glans I think, would be very fun if you watched him 😀 /GF borrowing BF's account, he thinks I always wright like a sissy from his account, so now I thought I'd better say 😂
I am Swedish and Johan Glans isn't even on the list of top Swedish comics. Some people think his dialect his funny but his comic is extremely low-brow, and his delivery is non-existent. Sweden haven't had many truly great comedians, especially since the 1990s. But there are a few of course like Henrik Dorsin and Per Andersson who have been trying to keep the art going over here for the last 20 years or so
You are talking shit. Show me that list you made up in your silly skull. Glans is one of our top comedians right now. Dorsin and Andersson are both really bad and struggling comedians in my book. The best comedians right now are all from Skåne btw.
Damn you have a peculiarly fine taste sir. I think Johan Glans is one of the best. Robert #1, then Johan Glans is a great candidate for #2, but there are many so I could simply place him in top 10. I respect your unique perspective. For my simple tastes there are many great Swedish comedians, but you might have more exquisite knowledge about the subject.
@@master_jonOfcourse tastes are different and it wasn't meant to yuck anyone's yum. To me Glans got famous because he was in shows where other people wrote the jokes, but when he does standup his jokes are very one dimensional and as I wrote his delivery is non-existant. Compared to Robert G, they are not even on the same planet 😄 Robert has great delivery, that is probably his strongest point tbh. But I respect that it is only my option!
must have an insanely thin list if he's not at the top then. He's undoubtedly the second most famous comedian in sweden and probably the only one who doesn't base his whole routine on "blatte" jokes

He is a kind and sweet comedian, with a sharp and relatable show. I love him for making fun of us all nicely.
Johan Glans made a World tour name Johan Glans World Tour. He made the first appearance of the tour in Ireland. 👍
His setup and pay off skils are amazing. So funny😅

Have to correct you, he competed on the subject of James Bond
3:50 - The word they translated into geezer was Gubbe (Gubbagodis = candy for geezers).
Gubbe Nominative
Gubba Genitive
So actual translation should be Old Man's Sweets.

Yeah, he's certainly one of the best. So relatable! You def should react to more by him.
You should check out “kvarteret skatan” Johan Glans is one of the comediennes in that show
Pressbyrån=Starbucks 😂
I give you the most hilarious TV show ever. It was on TV in Sweden 2007-2009.
Johan is absolutely one of the best! 😅 He's done a few show's in English. You should find those instead.. a lot of he's jokes in this one is definitely for a swedish Audience..
Magnus Betner, also very famous and good comedian, I think would be a good fit for someone who is not Swedish :)
I have of course seen starwards.. and.. Johan is raised in the same small town as me and we went to the same school (but different times). It is known to be the most boring town in Sweden. 😂
At least after he left I bet.
For me "grina" is crying, but I would guess it at some point it meant the face you make when you cry/laugh
Gubbar = Geezers and yeah, that's a direct translation that means the exact same thing.
The English translation doesn't do him justice. Glans is funny
He's a favorite but no, it's Robert Gustafsson.
You can find Johan Glans doing stand up in English.
Johan Glans is funnier to Scanians though. Because he represents us, the sole human population of Sweden.
Yeah check out his English clips, he did a world tour in various countries.
The subber put the word geezer as in the american translation as "old man", because that's what Johan said, candy for old men.
Yeah they have it gubbar.. it can be translated as men or guys, but its more like geezers if old age is implied.
Johan Glans is awesome
Check out the one where he talks about easter
the word is gubbe and means old man but is used as you would use geezer
No Geezer is your translation. Thats why its subtitled to english 🤣
You have to watch Fredrik Andersson! he´s my personal favorite and he does standup in english aswell so it´s easier for you! i highly recommend him!
Dan tdm?

The tastes are different, I personally think Johan Glans is among the funniest comedians we have today, funnier than both Dorsin and Andersson.
