      Yesterday I thought the train station should be in the Ideas site. I’m sure someone over at LEGO could be creeping around Brick Nottingham.

    Love the platforms, and the tiling!
    Maybe add some benches down the center Of playforms 2 and 3. Also, I would add a light blue 1x1 under the ticket scanners to pull the cylinders out of the tiling.

      I completely agree with you

    • @FujiwaraBunta
      @FujiwaraBunta 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I agree, but not on the bit with chairs on the middle part, unless they are double-sided.

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll try some chairs out. Although realistic, there's kinda a lot of stuff on the platform already. 1x1 plates added, I found some!

    Loving the footbridge. Now I've seen one platform tiled I'm in agreement that it looks better tiled. Also keep the yellow clipped sign as it is. The red stands out far too much.

      I agree with all that. Cheers, Craig!

    I think the station would look great if you considered adding a taxi from set 60050.
    I crack up every time you mention the taxis. :-)

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, very good. Someone didn't get the joke and pointed out that it would be better English to say I had four cars from the same set. Doh!

      Alright, thats a realy nice station, while 3 platforms for just 2 tracks hurts me a bit, it's not a big pain LoL
      I don't think there is any place for bar chairs in front of the bar but you could add a minifirure waiting for this cocktail, i imagine him/her standing sideways, right arm on the bar top
      Honestly the white supports don't realy fit the rest of the station but well, those were probably added waaay later than the station was built so ok

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm glad it passes your high level of scrutiny, haha. Yes, a man at the bar and a load more on the platforms is required!

  • @jacobkilby

    Tiling the platforms really lifts the whole feel of the station - especially the patterning!

    • @RobinHoodBricks

      The patterning is essential, otherwise it'd look really boring!

    Amazing Robin!! You could've gotten away with not tiling the platforms, but now you've shown us how great it looks, I can't imagine you going back! Excellent stuff. We're all very eager to see it finally in the city.

    Hi there, After recently reacquiring all my childhood LEGO, as it's been passed down through the family, my kids and I are currently building our own LEGO City and we are really enjoying your channel ! Your city is fabulous ! I particularly like how you modify sets and explain where certain parts came from. Also the fact that you are not opposed to an open back or lack of stairs is a plus for us as our city is built for play. Yes, as much as it drives me to the brink when they swap the minifigs heads and clothes around (shudder), I have to remember how much fun it was to play with LEGO as a kid. My son is insisting that Batman and his friends also live in our city and you have inspired me to make this happen. I even have a baddies warehouse by the docks planned! As well as lots of other ideas I'm stealing from you (hope you don't mind) ! Our favourite builds so far are the Exotic Pet Shop ( those escapees are genius) and the Fish and Chip Shop. I also really enjoy reading the comments and all the great ideas that your followers (so politely by the way) come up with, but I equally enjoy how you stick to your own ideas when you want to. If it was up to me though I'd keep the yellow brick details on top of the train station. Keep up the good work !

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Well, thank you for the lovely comment.
      I love comments like this. They really give me energy to continue building the city. Yes, I think you have to build in your own style, and do what you feel, but my exploits are greatly augmented by my subscribers' contributions. I have the best subscribers.
      The Exotic Pet Shop is a favourite of mine as well. It just came together well.
      Also, steal any ideas you want. I welcome it. Good luck with the baddies' warehouse!

    This is awesome. One point however I cannot unsee : From a user perspective, if I go down the stairs from another platform, I will follow the dark line on the floor and will naturally hit my head against the wall !

    I really like the bar and seating area! One suggestion: I think the bowl of fruit is too large and distracting to be be sitting atop the bar. Instead, put a 1x1 round brick underneath, and put it to either the left or right side of the back bar cabinet. There's open space on either side. I think it might look better there.

    The station turned out great! I was skeptical to tiling it at first, but seeing it all tiled changed my mind! It looks absolutely fantastic! However, I have one suggestion.. You should put a light bluish gray 1*1 plate underneath the ticket touch poles so that they are at the same levels as the tiling and by doing so you eliminate the gaps between the tiles and the round brick at the bottom of each ticket touch pole. But again, great job creating the station!!

    Love the station, great modernisation of the 4554 set! The one thing that isn’t quite right for me is the footbridge, I think the top stairs should join the side of a full width bridge and not ‘cut’ into it. I realise that this is how the original was done.

    Hi station looking wonderful.
    Stairs : tread plate 😉 sway.
    Platforms: sad to say it does look better tiled 🥺
    But I suggest to change 1 thing : move the overhead digital time tables of center.
    You just made that wonderful clock and station name on the building which now get obscured by those things...
    In our stations they are mostly either at or near stairs or close to seating.... So I suggest you move them there so the clock gets full view.
    Have fun building

    • @RobinHoodBricks
      @RobinHoodBricks  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for the grudging acceptance of tiles, haha. The treadplates rock.
      I have to move the poles but the overhang on the seating stops it going that way so maybe a little toward the shop?!

    • @xfilethe
      @xfilethe 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@RobinHoodBricks my initial thoughts where to place it in between the yellow collums of seating canopy.....or make it part of it so it hangs of the roof... But you could also combine it with the platform nrs and put it beside the stairs middle platform .... maybe hang it of that..... But from what I see it should be possible... Would move half a stud towards the rails......Don't know al your train clearances..... good luck

    Another fun Monday build Robin! I had guessed you might do the stairs using the model of that other set (yay for being correct lol) but I do like how it looks -- seems almost modernistic compared to the historical style of the main station. The bar is really cool - perfect minifig use for the 'tender! At first I wasn't sure about the tiling but once you completed everything on the station platform, I'm more in favor of that look now also. Soooo many taxi's hahaha but I really like that vehicle and the idea of a lot of them being around is legit! Looking forward to seeing all this placed into town next week! :)
