This build just got better! 100% improvement Robin! Definitely put the graffiti stickers on! The scared man in the pit is hilarious, very innovative! Thanks Robin!😊
An absolutely brilliant solution to this kind of problem, not only does the build make more sense now but it's also more unique from other displays with trainsheds
Brilliant as usual. The poor man in the maintenance hole had me in stitches. I also can inmagine the shed working in tandem with the harbor cranes if needed.
What you found online was generally used at stations for a bit of cover, for trains (locomotive and rolling stock). But what the Lego set is trying to replicate is a locomotive shed or MPD (motive power depot), securely locked doors and fully enclosed. Also, maybe try and add a gate so the general public can't just walk into the shed or go around it and get onto the line
Fair enough. At least it doesn't look unfinished now, even if it isn't wholly accurate. I have a phobia against too many fences around everything so all my rail lines are approachable. Plastic people bounce off trains anyway!
Love the amendments. My one suggestion is have a solid door rather than a glass one as I think a glass door is a bit vulnerable for such a working environment. Bonus train crash at the end. 😂
I love every stud of this build! The only thing that could make it better is to add grafitti! I just can't explain how much I like this it's so good! Definitely the right choice.
Love love love it! Fantastic improvement. Well considered and worked out. I used to feel sorry for the guy I the car trapped between the lines, but now I feel far more sorry for the guy in the pit!
Great improvement and you treated us all to a derailment! Double plus good! Speaking of which, very long freight trains often have the locos in a push-pull configuration to more evenly distribute power.
When loco #4 gets added this will be the case although they do all need to receive the same IR signal at the same time so they can't be miles apart with so many obstacles!
this 6 month wait was worth it. Really awesome revision, make me super excited for the eventual second pass of the city, cause I'm gonna keep watching these videos as long as you make them!! Thanks Robin, have a great week!
Yes indeed. I suppose technically I shouldn't have redone this in the first pass but the green grass inside was bugging me, so once I had the extra roof pieces bought it was all systems go!
Fantastic change to the existing build. the new larger work area is great and gives you more to look at as you enter the room plus that easter egg of a pit worker is so fun. I do think a few additions to the black rooftop is needed, maybe a satellite dish or communication array for the train and shipyard. and thanks for that exciting crash and "BEEP" and the end...
A brilliant transformation - like a conjuring trick - ! You get twice as much "use" from your track now since part of your "main line" can simulate a bit of railway yard and maintenance depot. -- You might break up the big black roof by raising the main shed roof by one grey brick or so, high enough to separate the roofs physically and visually. -- Opening one of the sliding doors toward the center of the building would let in more light. Also paving up to these doors would make sense. They're useful for access to the far side of the shed and moving heavy machinery in and out. -- Just a few thoughts for a (distant) future "rainy day" since you are so busy - !
Great build once again! Definitely use the roof for a scene, possibly an advert visible by passing planes. It's valuable space on which to put even more LEGO!
Great update! I would suggest the graffiti stickers on your cargo train cars as the trains are some of the most common things to get tagged, the passenger line would get cleaned more often, but the cargo line would have longer lasting graffiti. Thanks for all your vids.
I so enjoyed this video brilliant. Great belly laugh at the train going over the mechanic in the pit great fun to do that a few times . Genius The build is a great improvement . The crash was just brilliant to witness and reassuring that it happens to an expert !! 👍🏼
A major improvement, I would say. As for the graffiti, I think that it could add to is as long as you use it sparingly. The only think that i would change would be to continue the concrete floor over the second track to, so that it could be more easily serviceable too.
I think the poor man stuck in the service hatch has to be my new favourite scene. Very cruel! Haha Great improvement that still has the essence of the original set.
I think the improvements came out reeeealllyyy well Robin! Definitely agree with the "concreting" inside, and the second rail extension looks great! And derailment wooo! Lol 😂
Excellent! I wasn't among those out of sorts with the original version but this is a great improvement. I've said it before, you have an amazing knack of creating a lot of detail with just a few pieces as in the roof extension here.
the yellow crane in your train shed should have the crank wheel for operating the winch relocated to the opposite side so it can be accessed more easily. For the roof, I suggest a work crew that could be tarring a section of it, either a professional roofing company, workers from the train line, or a prison work squad with guards like in the film Shawshank Redemption
Firstly, I had the crank on both sides and couldn't decide between reachability and steps access. Secondly, the Shawshank idea is an awesome plan that I will at least try to do. A lack of connection points may make it tricky though. Thank you for that!
Graffiti on the black roof could be interesting especially if it’s the leftover friends stickers that have the cartoon animals and have a younger cartoonist painter doodling on the roof, nobody stops them because it’s one of the workers kids.
Maybe you could have somebody cleaning up the roof or something? Also, something that might be cool would be introducing refuelling facilities at the shed, including coal and water for the Flying Nottsman.
Superb upgrade, it perfectly blends in with the docks and the party pops out more as well. deserved indeed! And I always applaud on more graffitti next to train tracks. Maybe slightly hidden on the right side next to the black doors?
Love the upgrades to the train shed. Every time you outdo yourself with your creativity and execution! Keep up the great work! One tiny suggestion, however: Install tiles to simulate pavements (sidewalk) outside the black double sliding doors as well. If heavy equipment gets delivered, it's not going to be dropped off in the grass... Well done!
I really like the original shed and was skeptical about any changes to it but boy was I ever wrong. The new expanded shed is simply amazing and a testament to your building and design skills. The work pit? touch of genius. No graffiti, though. Just IMHO,
Wow thanks, Joe. That's really great to hear. Yes, I was nervous about touching such a widely appreciated and coveted set. I'm glad you agree it was worth it in the end!
It looked good before, but now we can see inside, and appreciate the details. I love the mechanic in the pit! Such a dynamic addition to the whole scene. There are some stickers from set 79109 designed to go on same black roof pieces. Or maybe a cat (6251pb03) ready to pounce on the bluebirds.
Genius work to fake a train derailment to add tension to another excellent improvement. We really like the improvements now - great enhancements to the existing fine work. Looks much more natural in that space. Might you be able to include any advert panels on the top if you wanted to break the expanse of black up? Alternatively, it would be great to see that desperately hiding train worker more - so any way to make the roof more see-through? It’s great as it is though!
Haha, it would be a dangerous thing to fake a derailment with my trains and hard to reach areas. I did well to stop it so quickly given I was filming and working across two train channels!
Wow man. Looks much, much, much better. You've done a really good job. Love it. And yes, you should definitely add the graffiti and maybe some small plants on the walls.
I would flip the guy in the pit the other way (still on his back) to make it like he’s limboing as he’s seen the train coming and is now even more scared realizing how close he was to death while inspecting the bogies and underside of the carriages
Really good impressive build. Roof idea scene... have a construction team repairing a damaged section of roof or installing a glazed window with a crane
May I suggest using Distributed Power on your cargo train? Distributed power is a real life technique used quite often, especially on passenger services such as metros and what not. Instead of having all 3 locomotives at the front, put one of them near the middle (and possibly one a few carriages in front of the caboose, so it isn’t redundant) and that would significantly reduce the amount of stress on the couplings while also making the train easier to handle. Feel free to do your own research if you’d like.
I'd agree if it wasn't for the need for the controlling IR signal needing to reach them all at the same time. With so many obstacles that is tricky. When I add loco #4 I plan to have them in two pairs, front and middle!
Dear Robin Hood Bricks. Love the extension of the trijnshed, big improvement. 👍 But you asked for minor improvements. So: the doors on the outside when they open are an elevation on one side and a monorail on the other, so nothing big can get in. If you only turn the outside wall, it can pass under the monorail over the inspection pit (which usually have a cover.) under the crane which can then lift it up. I'm sorry again that it's a lot of work, but you already have that fence/door so beautiful in the playground. Sorry again, but you asked for it.😉 Kind regards Jeroen
I could flip the door but I'm definitely not changing the park. That was precision work getting all that in. I reckon the shed is old and stuff got built around it after it was used less!
Love the extended roof and the you can see inside better. I’d like to see some kind of sign on the closed in side exterior to break up the solid red wall portion in the middle.
Looking good and much better. Agree though, that black roof needs breaking up a bit. Maybe a load more of bluebirds, the odd seagull, etc could suffice?
The updated build looks really good, more open and realistic. The trapped worker is an amusing little scene. I have one small issue, the monorail track blocks any access to the double doors. Would it be worth moving some of the playground furniture and raising the monorail line to create an access road to link directly to the dead end beside the new paved walkway.
Awesome Robin.. love it. I personally didn't think you needed to change it. I already thought it was awesome, but it is so much better now. I think you should save your graffiti stickers to put on a train container.
I think you should put some red half arches under the new roof extension. That would definitely tie it in better with the arches over the inside track. Other than that it’s another Brick Nottingham success story. I love this channel. Keep up the fantastic work.
Looks really good!! I'd suggest removing all the glass windows (maybe just leave it as a hole in the wall because it's such an old building) because currently, the glass ruins the industrial look almost. You could add a few sunroofs to make it less dark in there!
Another great build! Not a fan of cutting LEGO, but the end result was REALLY funny, lol! And at least it wasn't KRAGLE! The blackness does make it darker...I know you're not a fan of light sets, but what about one or two LEGO lights that run on battery? Also, better watch out or the Safety Police are going to jump in and ask why the train operator of the one train was going so fast to cause a derailment! Great video!
Glad I stayed until the end of the video lol! Great job on the MOC. It looks much more complete now than before. Although I like stickers, I think you don’t need to add them for this MOC. 😊
Great improvement, the only thing I would think to add would be some pavement going toward the sliding door, should only take a few tiles. Still an awesome improvement, either way.
Fantastic job Robin! This is such a brilliant build. So much more room for activities.. lol Love the the guy in the maintenance pit. I was cringing every time the Flying Nottsman would go buy. I can't imagine what that poor minifigure is thinking, haha. Great job on all your hard work getting everything flipped around. Maybe add a guy with a welding helmet and welding torch working on a piece of metal clamped into the vice. You could use a trans neon orange piece to make it look like its glowing hot. So did you amend the original digital design file? I definitely would love to get this new one for sure! Great video my friend.
The clearance is tiny over the poor chap's head. The mohican hair is the only one that fits would you believe? The welding idea is a good one and ping me an email re the file!
The train shed looks 100 percent better. You can take up the flat 2x2s under the platform to save on them. Maybe just put dark grey 1x bricks under the raised platform along the edges to look like concrete
Great amendments I would add some (ornate) demi-arches underneath the overhang to evoke the early 20th century industrial look. ( maybe painted white, like the details in the main build?)
I’m not here for the trains, but I do love this build. I vote yes for the graffiti! I just wanted to comment on the placement of the playground. I think this would look better at a different location. You have some really lovely play equipment in there, but it looks out of place squashed between the road and monorail. Maybe on your second pass around the city, you might find a better location?
It's a matter of squeezing everything in. It's one of the few builds that works well in and around a monorail. Any building would not use the space as efficiently. Ideally everything would have more space. I'm glad you like the shed!
Hey Robin! The build Looks amazing, much better than before. Maybe you could add a ladder on top of Dr.Infernos Base across the Second train Line. With that crucks could climb onto the top of the black roof to Spray graffiti to warn helicoptors.
Love the new look of the shed. It looks fantastic. I can't wait to see wait comes up next. Your new vehicle without a number could be used in a police car chase, because the driver just stole the car.
Great improvement on the trainshed, as you pointed out its a bit dark so you can't see the scene inside in its full glory. Maybee an hole in the roof with a roof repair team would solve the light inside and the big black surface.
I absolutely cracked it when the train crashed. Sounded so realistic with the sudden stop, and quite frankly, the perfect reaction to this situation! Also, does the Flying Knottsman have the front buffer with the plow on? The poor minifig’s hat would be ruined
Just an idea for the shed.... Could you use power functions to motorize scenes in the train shed like the men operating an overhead crane.... Probably not possible with the limited space..... But you've done it before.
I am pro graffiti, also train sheds often times have a water tower near by, maybe you could amend an end of the roof and have a water tower on the roof with a pipe to fill the Nottsman
I think that the train shed would be better if the ends had a red arch like where the black doors close added to the new addition is that you just added. 1 on each end. Maybe the seagulls could be stealing a blue bird egg from a nest on the roof of train station.
You should add another black hairpiece a few bricks away from the man in the pit to show where the bit the was torn off his head by the train ended up and to make that visual joke clearer on first glance
Robin I do think at 25:48 the train thought to do that because it heard you talking about the car and thought that it meant “I like this car more than my train” lol
I think for the steam engine side at the train shed maybe it would be a good idea to have a few open windows on top of the roof because steam trains make a lot of smoke. As for the diesel trains smoke i think it might be ok because its more out on the open side.
The man under the tracks is great! It might look good if his torso was flipped , and his legs were further in the direction the train Comes frso he was limboing backwards after just seeing a train almost hit him, as it might show off his face a bit more
I don't know. I have some so I can try it but the gap under the train is tiny so unless it is the same, I really doubt it will work. I'll let you know!
That really is a good improvement, looks really way better! Also the addition of the inspection pit is a really good one. One question: it seems the pit is long enough for real lego legs; can you help me understand why you needed to use an hinge brick instead? (The backside of the legs also have antistuds, right?) I would naively say with tiles and jumperplates you would be able to fit a minifig with normal legs.
Thanks. It is to give the impression he was standing up. If he was lying down the normal legs would work but it's a hole so it's supposed to be him bending at the waist!
@@RobinHoodBricks I see, that makes totally sense. It's a pity you don't have the actual hole available on that spot, but this is a good alternative. Whenever you do a second round of the room, would you consider changing tables etc. to be able to better accodomate this and many other depth effects? I really think that is what your city makes very special.
Well it does need support somewhere. I'm glad of the direct table bits as I can lean on them for stretching and cleaning. LEGO supported areas are not strong enough for that. Also, I'd need to cut a baseplate for a hole that small. The subway entrances fit into an old 8x16 standard baseplate size. I haven't cut a single baseplate yet!
This build just got better! 100% improvement Robin! Definitely put the graffiti stickers on! The scared man in the pit is hilarious, very innovative! Thanks Robin!😊
Cheers, it means a lot!
The SSP should be chasing that car with no number plate! He could be (as Small Brick City used to say) a sugar dealer.
I miss Small Brick City!
Haha. Not heard that before!
An absolutely brilliant solution to this kind of problem, not only does the build make more sense now but it's also more unique from other displays with trainsheds
Yes, perfect!
I love this style of lego build!!!! Taking what exists, and improving upon it!!!
That's what I love to do best, I think. Old stuff made even better!
Great improvements and thanks for keeping in the derailment and your reaction. A thrill and a laugh just when I thought the video was closing out.
Glad you enjoyed it. A good blooper is always worth keeping!
Brilliant as usual. The poor man in the maintenance hole had me in stitches. I also can inmagine the shed working in tandem with the harbor cranes if needed.
Yes, I thought that, although it's harder now with the extended roof of course. The gap between train and man is tiny!
What you found online was generally used at stations for a bit of cover, for trains (locomotive and rolling stock). But what the Lego set is trying to replicate is a locomotive shed or MPD (motive power depot), securely locked doors and fully enclosed.

Haha, thanks for that. Yes, I don't like to cut anything but sometimes a special result is worth it!
Now you got a steam train would be cool to have maybe a water tank and a coal box near the train shed
I'm new to train details so I'll have to research it!
Glad I stayed until the end of the video lol! Great job on the MOC. It looks much more complete now than before. Although I like stickers, I think you don’t need to add them for this MOC. 😊
I agree, I think I'll leave them off this beauty!
Great improvement, the only thing I would think to add would be some pavement going toward the sliding door, should only take a few tiles. Still an awesome improvement, either way.
Good call!
Very good improvements. Looks more realistic it sort of fits right in with that part of the city. Im surprised a train can go past that hat.
Thanks. Yes, none of the train wheel gets anywhere near it, although it looks like a derailment waiting to happen!
Wonderful upgrade.
How about some lighting inside the train shed?
That would help with visibility inside and dress up the outside as well.
A slippery slope onto which I dare not step. I know where it will lead!
@@RobinHoodBricks …..I understand completely.
What was I thinking.🤪
The train shed looks 100 percent better. You can take up the flat 2x2s under the platform to save on them. Maybe just put dark grey 1x bricks under the raised platform along the edges to look like concrete
I love it Robin looks a lot better
Yay, thanks!
I strongly agree it does look good
Thanks. Much appreciated!
Great improvement Robin. Go go train pump car 😂🤣😃
Maybe they caused the derailment somehow!
I've been waiting months.
And was it worth the wait? Hope so!
Great amendments I would add some (ornate) demi-arches underneath the overhang to evoke the early 20th century industrial look. ( maybe painted white, like the details in the main build?)
I haven't watched your content in a while, but the city's looking good as always!
Welcome back. Why not stay awhile!
@@RobinHoodBricks Don't mind if I do, I've got plenty of videos to catch up to!
Nicely done!
Nice improvements! But now the monorail is in the way XD. I think you should bring him up to give acces to the dors of the new and improve shed :D
Hmmm, maybe the door is out of use? The monorail would be more recent!
Looks much better now. Maybe some rubbish or some other stuff on the roof that the kids have thrown up there from the park
Haha, a football or two!
I'm glad you like the shed!
great build and the rebuild improved it :-)
Yay, thanks. I didn't ruin it, haha!
Not yet it doesn't. I still don't think it will hit. It looks like it should though!
Train derailment was best part of video lol
Errr, thanks... I guess. Haha!
If you could, you could try and make it look weathered, like some rust on the roof or something like that.
Sounds like a sticker job!
Put some tiles by the sliding cargo doors. Its a small green area now.
Just an idea for the shed.... Could you use power functions to motorize scenes in the train shed like the men operating an overhead crane.... Probably not possible with the limited space..... But you've done it before.
Uurgh, I can't face that. I'll just motorise the fairground, haha!
@@RobinHoodBricks can't say I blame you 😂😂😂
I am pro graffiti, also train sheds often times have a water tower near by, maybe you could amend an end of the roof and have a water tower on the roof with a pipe to fill the Nottsman
UK trains fill from a scoop over a water trench. Cool eh? No need to stop or even slow down!
I think that the train shed would be better if the ends had a red arch like where the black doors close added to the new addition is that you just added. 1 on each end. Maybe the seagulls could be stealing a blue bird egg from a nest on the roof of train station.
Red arches might work on the two ends. I'll check it out!
I think you need to extend the awning across the other side of the track and have it supported by pillars. It still looks too open for my liking
You should add another black hairpiece a few bricks away from the man in the pit to show where the bit the was torn off his head by the train ended up and to make that visual joke clearer on first glance
Ouch!
Hey Robin, you might want to put the Vice grip on a table or raise it up so nobody has to bend over to use it.
Boss who left him in the hole: I like your haircut
Worker: You don’t get to like my haircut
Robin I do think at 25:48 the train thought to do that because it heard you talking about the car and thought that it meant “I like this car more than my train” lol
I think for the steam engine side at the train shed maybe it would be a good idea to have a few open windows on top of the roof because steam trains make a lot of smoke. As for the diesel trains smoke i think it might be ok because its more out on the open side.
This looks better robin
Many thanks!
Looks fantastic! Love it! You could possibly put some of the graffiti stickers on the roof if you want to break that up a bit.
I think you should add the yellow hazard strips on the right and left side of your pit.
The man under the tracks is great! It might look good if his torso was flipped , and his legs were further in the direction the train Comes frso he was limboing backwards after just seeing a train almost hit him, as it might show off his face a bit more
His head has to be sideways or the train will hit the hair!
@@RobinHoodBricks ah that makes sense
Cool
Your fourth and I subbed to you!

@@HuntingPuma378 oh silly me
I’m doubtful but would Luna Lovegood’s blue mid legs fit in the service hole as opposed to the hinged brick so the legs appear more natural?
