The wall collision looks incredibly frustrating. I kept seeing the car in the game-play slow down when it definitely wasn't touching. As far as racing games on the NES, it's Super Off Road all the way!
This feels like something Camerica/Code Masters would have made. The graphics and sound have that unlicensed European developed feel. I used to do cold openings as well but uh...I guess I stopped doing them? LOL
This game really benefits from the higher performance of the Amiga compared to the NES version. And yes, the 2nd game does provide some improvements, but you do miss out on the Retron Parsec Turbo XD

This game is a top 10 rare nes game. Just nobody knows about it or wants it. It’s a solid game. If it ever catches on in the collectors market this game will sky rocket.

I agree Super Sprint is the superior game for that style of racing on the NES. Super Cars is bad, it's just not good.
I'm partial to Super Sprint because it was the first game I had besides Super Mario Bros. as a kid. It raised me!
