Track & Field I and II on NES - NESfriend
Do you read comments from your early day videos?? This game was a lot of fun as a kid. Have a great day! Bill Chicago
Of course! I cringe at the videos though
@@NESFriend Hey at least you took the time to create the video right? Haha… still love your channel. Take care
I have always like the Robin Hood game
when summing up levels you missed one. In the Alps, the level before skien down.
FUCKING LJN!
Just saw an ad for Bigfoot in an old comic I was reading on Noburu on Vita 😂😅
This game is fun, once you get 10 minutes in you're hooked
Where's part 2?!?!
Interesting. FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE FIRE
Y2K did take out tens of thousands of people and buildings - this is one of the best kept secrets and most well covered up conspiracies of all time. I only know as my 4 brothers all worked for one of the companies that fell into a crack that opened in the earth across part of Japan. There is a reason all developers of this company will be recorded as "having left the industry" after this company closed. Please dont look deeper in to this, you will be opening a pandoras box with serious consequences
Some believe the incident is related to UFOs and that's why it will never come out to the public. Its as well covered up as the first three letters of magic followed by the letter é
i’ll give someone my copy of this crappy game
I've got rhis, needs a bit of practice to get to grips with the Controls. I find it fun enough to play here and there in shortish bursts. The graphics are really decent imo. I have to say i still prefer the Colecovision Smurfs game personally. I'm surprised you can still find this at a good price considering it is a very late NES release. I'd give this a 6/10. 🔥
Not an NES friend.
gg 🎉
Used to swap NES games with neighbor kids. After 15 minutes with this game, I was looking forward to giving it back.
That remake looks sick 🤘
Pay i play the game
I love this one Right on left
"Combat is stiff and not very fun" That was generous
idk why but I prefer super c over the og contra
TOKKYU SHIREI SOLBRAIN!!!!!!
Don't make me get Xenophone.
To land you didn't need to speed up at the end. Just keep tapping the B button until the plane starts to descend on it's own and it will touch down it's self.
2:07 - That's probably the best description of that "music" I've ever heard! I find it extremely ironic that Japan would develop a game in which you play as an American pilot downing Japanese fighters and ships in WW2.
The original Rescue Rangers is perhaps the easiest game I've ever played on the NES. (Unless you count Guerrilla War and its infinite continues respawning you right where you died).
I've technically played this game. I had Ninja Gaiden: Shadow for the GameBoy.
Definitely seems like there are some awesome mechanics in this game, but yeah, I'd probably like it more if you could hold onto weapons and cycle through them. Maybe in that remake? Which also looks pretty sweet!
This is my favorite NES game. I rented it as a kid. And then bought it as a kid. Played it a lot and beat it. I have five copy’s of it. And my PAL version is signed by James Rolfe. It’s also part of my Xbox gamertag.
was the remake any good?
ggs🎉
This game looks like a mod where you play Ninja Gaiden on Megaman stages. If the difficulty is that both combined then good luck!
Naw, I don't think it's quite as difficult as either tbh. Very approachable!
This game was the perfect post-cartoon Saturday morning filler with a friend. Now it's noon - lunch time!
Looking at you Rob! Glove! Thing you yell into! 😂
Wait the European version runs faster? That's quite the oddity. I've been sleeping on this one for too long anyway so gonna have to grab a copy and see from my own ladder.
really wish i'd had this back in the day. took a few minutes to get it down, and downloading the manual pdf helped. but once i did, it's really fun.
Lol great username
You can clearly see the Twin Towers, which means it IS Topeka, Kansas!
Obviously!
Home of the famous Topeka Yankees
This game always reminded me of Zelda 2 but with less emphasis on combat. I never could beat this
Wow what AWESOME bosses. Had no idea the NES could do such huge colourful bosses. Brilliant stuff.
What a great rental this was during a sleep over.
Always happy to see a new video, especially when it's a game I didn't know about. I had already moved on to my Genesis by the time the later games came out for the NES. Konami's Laserscope (the thing you yell at) was a dumb idea: you have headphones so you don't bother anyone while playing, but you need to yell "fire" to get it to work. Anyway, good job. Keep firing from ladders.
Great video as always Trav, hope lifes good! I laughed at the euro version runs faster
Ninja Gay-den? It's Gai-Den. Hai! There is a Limited Run re-release of this game but that doesn't really count.
I still need to play this one but when I do, the immortal words of NES Friend will always ring true in my head - shoot from the ladder
Get ya some ladder action
Wow, this one is getting a remake, too! All of these Natsume games are proving to be like fine wine. Because I'm a big nerd about it, I've always preferred to treat Japanese loan words as already being in both singular and plural form (like "ninja", "samurai", and "youkai", though I guess "ninjas" has a weird "'murican" charm to it). In Japanese most nouns are like this, and it's kind of like how we pluralize words like "deer" and "fish". Come to think of it this might also explain why we often get weird translations such as "All your base are...." and "All player get..." As you have already mentioned: "Ninja Gaiden Shadow" was originally supposed to be a Game Boy port of "Shadow of the Ninja". It was made by the same Nagoya based Natsume dev team as "Shadow of the Ninja" and serves as a prequel to the NES "Ninja Gaiden" games. There are even some very strong connections in terms of story: "Set in a retro-futuristic version of 1985, three years before the events of the first Ninja Gaiden (NES), the player controls Ryu Hayabusa, who must save New York City from the forces of Emperor Garuda, a servant of Jaquio." -Wikipedia page for "Ninja Gaiden Shadow" So Ryu Hayabusa, Hayate, Kaede, and Garuda were all in New York at some point in my head canon universe, and old man Garuda somehow survived.
As kids we judged games by - Can you attack from a ladder? How good was the jump? Did 'zero' lives count as a life? Unlimited continues?
There actually was a semi sequel on the Game Boy Color called Return of the Ninja. It's not nearly as good as the NES game though.
You might be tempted to play Ninja Crusaders, as it's also a ninja-based action platformer. DO NOT PLAY NINJA CRUSADERS--at least not with the sound on. It has the worst soundtrack on the entire NES. A toddler slamming their mitts on a broken keyboard would make better music. Consider yourself warned!!
If I was a betting man I’d wager that the upcoming “remake” will be pointlessly difficult because for whatever reason modern developers think “retro” means “unfair and not fun.”
I guess a top list of NES games where you can attack from ladders would be mostly Mega Man games.
Whenever I'm trying to sell people on this game (figuratively speaking), I tell them "It's basically Ninja Gaiden with co-op!" I'm very much looking forward to the upcoming remake as well. 😁
This one is so overlooked! Nice review!
It takes place in New York according to the screen shot in the opening.
That's just what they want you to think! (Topeka 2029, all aboard!)
