Ubers isn’t based on usage, it’s used to hold Pokemon too broken to be OU. And even if it was usage, it’s usage for multiple peoples’ teams, not one person’s.
For the past couple gens I've been wanting a Ghost-Type Drain Punch. It would give Dusclops/Dusknoir a stronger STAB and recovery. Ideally, Golurk could learn it too and get STAB + Iron Fist boost
I mean, it's kinda hard to kill a Dark/Flying type when your best attacks are Ghost, Dark and Ground type. Edit: A Dark/Flying type that can Roost away it's Flying type before getting Ice Punched.

For Electivire, two options: buff motor drive (instead of +1 speed, +2), or add 10 to Electivire's speed and -10 in defense. Electric types also need more powerful physical moves, buff Wild Charge to 120 base power and 1/3 recoil (like double edge), give Close Combat, High Horsepower and Flame Charge (also add more electric physical moves gamefreak, please) For Magmortar, the same base speed as Magmar and -10 defense, and give it Megalauncher (it has TWO CANNOS as hands, its so obvius) + Dark Pulse, Terrain Pulse and Aura sphere). And for Rhyperior, i don't know really, its speed fits well with trick room, maybe change Rock Wrecker to 130 base power, the same acuraccy and 1/3 recoil, to fit with reckless... but I am not sure about this one.
Ariel Cevallos hmm. I agree on all terms of Dusknoir. And it needs new moves like maybe hammer arm, heavy slam, and some other fun moves. Electivire could also use something like plasma fists for its major stab. The reason they won’t buff wild charge is because of volt tackle, which they won’t release to more Pokémon (and I hate that since it’s not like bolt strike there’s a major downside) but I think Electivire could use some tail like moves too. I’d argue Power Whip for new added coverage. (I thought Icicle crash too and it stabs its tails while they freeze since electricity can be hot or cold but I can see that as too broken) but yeah. Or it could be a physical bruiser and abandon a lot of speed for a lot of defense for its body size with boosted motor drive. Magmortar is definitely more of a tank Pokémon than Electivire in my opinion over speedster so I think it fits to try and have Magmortar be the tank of the 2. But all the coverage I agree on. And yeah I forgot Rhyperior has been making a significant comeback as of late in comparison to the other 2. I was trying to think of another underused gen 4 evolution. I think I’m gonna say...shoot running low on those that aren’t good. How bout Yanmega?

Plus Ash had to battle Brandon's Dusclops in the anime and ugggggghhhhh... SERIOUSLY ASH, 1ST AGATHA, THEN BRANDON!? I'm just gonna say, I love Battle Fronteir. It was the 1st season of the anime that I ever watched. But Charizard Vs. Dusclops was just so flawed. Charizard getting burned when he is a Fire Type and Ash forgetting that Fighting Type moves have no effect on Dusclops is just bad. The rest of the battle against Brandon was great (especially Pikachu VS. Regice) though.

Well, it got a +5 stat boost to everything. One of the few G4 evo of prexisting mons who actually got universally buffed, instead of having a tradeoff.

It honestly DOES need more HP, but a consistent theme amongst ghost types is a below average HP stat, so I'd think it shouldn't go above base 60. A lot of what I'm hearing from this isn't that Dusknoir was *bad* but it was outclassed. I think it'd need something that only it can do, like a unique move.
When Dusclops evolves into Dusknoir gains 5 useless special attack points and 20 useless speed points that could be shifted to make 70 HP points instead of 45 and give Dusknoir true bulk, if that is not enough then shifting 5 additional speed points to HP and adding 10 HP to make 85 HP. The speed loss could even be beneficial since Dusclops is known as a Trick room setter.

For mons to be competitive they need to have stats that match their concept/strategic gimmick, or have a good movepool/ability, else they find themselves in the dumpster of competitive pokemon. The only mons that can afford to have balanced stats are the ones with a huge BS total. Heck even Sylvally with 570 BS is untiered.
*Dusclops and Dusknoir manage to survive Dexit, unlike many other ghosts. Maybe they will have a chance!* 200 new pokemon about to return to Sword/Shield "I'm about to end their whole career....again."
In summary for both: Dusclops: It's one of the best Eviolite users that ever existed (Despite the buff of Knock Off from Gen 6th onwards.) making him viable in competitive. And the fact that SW/SH got rid of Knock Off as a Move Tutor, a lot of Pokémon losed this move from their movepool, which this makes good news for Dusclops in the competitive scene of the 8th Gen. Dusknoir: Well, he was kinda good for the 4th Gen competitive and surprisly decent for the 6th Gen one. Besides from these generations sadly no, In fact he was horrible outclassed by other Ghosts types, even from his own pre-evolution... Anyways Dusknoir it's a great Pokémon because thanks to him, Dusclops it's capable of using Eviolite and the most important thing: He's a fantastic character in the Mystery Dungeon series. He may be not shining in the competitive scene, but Dusknoir has an special place on our hearts in the Mystery Dungeon fandom 🖤
I don’t care if it’s worse than it’s Pre-Evolution, Dusknoir will always be my favorite Ghost type. It’s one of the freaking coolest Pokémon designs. Oh, and Duskull has the perfect combination of cute and creepy.
If I were to buff Dusknoir, it need to get one of three things: A higher HP stat to tank more (65-80) OR a higher Attack stat (110) OR a higher Speed Stat (65-75). OR why not all three?

Well their more or less in the same boat at this point. Dusknoir is more consistent post gen 6when used where Dusclops suffers because of the reliance on Eviolite.

Same, it's my favorite pokemon all together. I'd say there are 3 things they'd have to do to make Dusknoir at least worth using for fun in the lower tiers. Buff its HP stat so it can actually tank things. Alternatively, keep his HP the same and give him Regenerator as an ability. Give it a ghost type physical move that heals you, like drain punch Another ability besides Pressure or Frisk. Iron Fist to buff that new ghost move and the elemental punches would be good, or maybe Levitate to avoid entry hazards. I hope they end up buffing the poor thing; it's sucha cool design that's just a victim of bad stats in a world of power creep. :c
What a sad story. Dusknoir is one of the best designed Pokémons ever, it's so sad seeing it wasn't popular in competitive. I hope they seriously buff him in future gens, he really deserves it

Dusknoir is such a cool pokemon, definitely one of my favorites.. shame its overshadowed by is prevolution. I feel like it should at least have the levitate ability, and its be even cooler if it got a second typing like dark upon evolving
I had a Dusclops from gen 3 I taught Seismic Toss and sent to gen 5. And used that as it's only attacking move. Unfortunately I must have accidentally released it while breeding Pokemon while half asleep

The one instance where more pokemon is a bad thing. Im enjoying the meta since most of the overused legendaries are gone like landorus heatran and the tapus. By the end of the year it will just be business as usual -_-
I would take away 20 from special attack and ten from speed and put 25 into hp and 5 into attack. Also perhaps buffing shadow punch to say, 80 BP and giving it a bypass accuracy effect would be great, but it finally has poltergeist which is so good.

Rip Dusknoir, will always remain as the greatest redeemed Pokemon villain ever. We'll always remember how much of a struggle his fight was when unprepared, along with Luxray by how absurdly easily you can delete Dusknoir by having a Shinx partner or getting it on the personality quiz. Sadly never good competitively, but forever really strong in our memories...
I would make Dusknoir HP stat 65 instead of 45. Make it Sp. Attack 45 and it defense and sp. defense both 145 that way it can take a few hits before it faints. It move pool is decent and I can't really think what moves to give it that would make it better. Maybe shadow claw. But I think Dusknoir would be amazing if it had a higher Hp stat. Even if Dusknoir is not the greatest in competitive Pokemon, it still one of my favorite ghost types.

Hey FSG, I thought I'd let you know now that even though I'm not that into regular competitive Pokemon, your videos have really helped me get into Pokemon battling again, and I've entered pokemon showdown with a running start thanks to you.
Thank you for including gen 8 in your video. I think talking about the history all the way up to and including the current gen can help get more people into competitive. I mean your videos made me consider it in the first place since it seemed less daunting. Previous gens I felt that it was too much work, as I had to both figure out the meta and spend countless hours making the Pokemon in the first place. Now it's easier to make comp Pokemon, and with a more thriving and encouraging community I feel like I can finally break into the competitive scene.
A buff of 30 points on his total stats and nerf in areas where he dont need stats we can get a: 100/100/135/45/135/35 what in total is 550, same as volcarona, he is trick room setter so 35 is better than 45 and he isnt a special attacker so is a overall buff, and he can be a fantastic pokemon if he get recover
Really hoping Generation VIII competitive makes these Pokémon more viable, especially ones that have severely fallen in grace. But once the expansion passes come out, and subsequently the 200+ added Pokémon, that could really shake up the competitive scene.
Like Electivire, it's such a pity Dusknoir never dropped from OU in gen 4. It might have had a shot at some of Spiritomb's defensive spinblocking niche despite the latter's Dark STAB and nearly strictly better typing, as it has better attack, defenses, and coverage (most notably SubPunch). Probably ends up in NU anyways, though at least there it would provide a strict upgrade to Dusclops, who saw play as a defensive spinblocker.
In order to buff Dusknoir significantly and make him viable: -Give him an HP stat of 70 -Give him access to recover -Give him an attack stat of 110 -Give him access to a base 100 ghost type physical move -Make him part dark -Give him Iron Fist Boom Dusknoir is now viable.

Super Greyflash Better ghost tanks still exist though. Aegislash, G-Corsola, and M-Sableye all pull the ghost tank job better....

I always liked Dusknoir's design. One of THE best of it's generation.

Charizard getting burned when he is a Fire Type and Ash forgetting that Fighting Type moves have no effect on Dusclops is just bad. The rest of the battle
against Brandon was great (especially Pikachu VS. Regice) though.
Dusknoir doesn't helps you fight against Dialga on PKMD tho, he is indeed a villain

Well, it got a +5 stat boost to everything. One of the few G4 evo of prexisting mons who actually got universally buffed, instead of having a tradeoff.

@@MakoShiruba and ironically the universal buff didn't make a change for the better for our Ghost pokemon, because a mere +5 to Dusclops already highest relevant stats means nothing when you can *skyrocket those stats with an Eviolite* , also the buff from *25 to 45 base speed* doesn't matter at all since you are sluggishly slow regardless and not outspeeding anything, in fact it's a hindrance when you consider they are used almost exclusively around trick room
Yup, he didn't need to have a massive hp stat, but having a bit more hp would have gone a long way.

It honestly DOES need more HP, but a consistent theme amongst ghost types is a below average HP stat, so I'd think it shouldn't go above base 60.
A lot of what I'm hearing from this isn't that Dusknoir was *bad* but it was outclassed. I think it'd need something that only it can do, like a unique move.
When Dusclops evolves into Dusknoir gains 5 useless special attack points and 20 useless speed points that could be shifted to make 70 HP points instead of 45 and give Dusknoir true bulk, if that is not enough then shifting 5 additional speed points to HP and adding 10 HP to make 85 HP.
The speed loss could even be beneficial since Dusclops is known as a Trick room setter.

@gnome from pinkerton or they are not viable at all? For mons to be competitive they need to have stats that match their concept/strategic gimmick, or have a good movepool/ability, else they find themselves in the dumpster of competitive pokemon. The only mons that can afford to have balanced stats are the ones with a huge BS total. Heck even Sylvally with 570 BS is untiered.
*Dusclops and Dusknoir manage to survive Dexit, unlike many other ghosts. Maybe they will have a chance!*

In summary for both:
Dusclops: It's one of the best Eviolite users that ever existed (Despite the buff of Knock Off from Gen 6th onwards.) making him viable in competitive. And the fact that SW/SH got rid of Knock Off as a Move Tutor, a lot of Pokémon losed this move from their movepool, which this makes good news for Dusclops in the competitive scene of the 8th Gen.
Dusknoir: Well, he was kinda good for the 4th Gen competitive and surprisly decent for the 6th Gen one. Besides from these generations sadly no, In fact he was horrible outclassed by other Ghosts types, even from his own pre-evolution...
Anyways Dusknoir it's a great Pokémon because thanks to him, Dusclops it's capable of using Eviolite and the most important thing: He's a fantastic character in the Mystery Dungeon series. He may be not shining in the competitive scene, but Dusknoir has an special place on our hearts in the Mystery Dungeon fandom 🖤

I don’t care if it’s worse than it’s Pre-Evolution, Dusknoir will always be my favorite Ghost type. It’s one of the freaking coolest Pokémon designs. Oh, and Duskull has the perfect combination of cute and creepy.

If I were to buff Dusknoir, it need to get one of three things:
A higher HP stat to tank more (65-80)
OR
a higher Attack stat (110)

a higher Speed Stat (65-75).

Man what a shame that Dusknoir ended up less viable than Dusclops, I think its much cooler design wise. Its pretty amusing to think how Eviolite boosted the viability of some Non Fully Evolved Pokemon to be better than their evolutions, like Dusclops, Chansey, and currently, Galarian Corsola.

Same, it's my favorite pokemon all together. I'd say there are 3 things they'd have to do to make Dusknoir at least worth using for fun in the lower tiers.
Buff its HP stat so it can actually tank things. Alternatively, keep his HP the same and give him Regenerator as an ability.
Give it a ghost type physical move that heals you, like drain punch
Another ability besides Pressure or Frisk. Iron Fist to buff that new ghost move and the elemental punches would be good, or maybe Levitate to avoid entry hazards.
I hope they end up buffing the poor thing; it's sucha cool design that's just a victim of bad stats in a world of power creep. :c
What a sad story. Dusknoir is one of the best designed Pokémons ever, it's so sad seeing it wasn't popular in competitive. I hope they seriously buff him in future gens, he really deserves it

Dusknoir is such a cool pokemon, definitely one of my favorites.. shame its overshadowed by is prevolution. I feel like it should at least have the levitate ability, and its be even cooler if it got a second typing like dark upon evolving
I had a Dusclops from gen 3 I taught Seismic Toss and sent to gen 5. And used that as it's only attacking move. Unfortunately I must have accidentally released it while breeding Pokemon while half asleep
A physical atacker ghost was a strange concept to begin with.
ghost was a physical type in gens 1-3. not quite as odd if you consider that and the fact that duskull is a gen 3 pokemon

The one instance where more pokemon is a bad thing. Im enjoying the meta since most of the overused legendaries are gone like landorus heatran and the tapus. By the end of the year it will just be business as usual -_-
That thumbnail is depressing with how true it is.
I would take away 20 from special attack and ten from speed and put 25 into hp and 5 into attack. Also perhaps buffing shadow punch to say, 80 BP and giving it a bypass accuracy effect would be great, but it finally has poltergeist which is so good.

To describe dusclops in two phrases: “Trick Room” and “WHY WONT YOU DIE???”
I would make Dusknoir HP stat 65 instead of 45. Make it Sp. Attack 45 and it defense and sp. defense both 145 that way it can take a few hits before it faints. It move pool is decent and I can't really think what moves to give it that would make it better. Maybe shadow claw. But I think Dusknoir would be amazing if it had a higher Hp stat. Even if Dusknoir is not the greatest in competitive Pokemon, it still one of my favorite ghost types.

Hey FSG, I thought I'd let you know now that even though I'm not that into regular competitive Pokemon, your videos have really helped me get into Pokemon battling again, and I've entered pokemon showdown with a running start thanks to you.

Thank you for including gen 8 in your video. I think talking about the history all the way up to and including the current gen can help get more people into competitive. I mean your videos made me consider it in the first place since it seemed less daunting. Previous gens I felt that it was too much work, as I had to both figure out the meta and spend countless hours making the Pokemon in the first place. Now it's easier to make comp Pokemon, and with a more thriving and encouraging community I feel like I can finally break into the competitive scene.
You'll do a how good was shaymin someday. I believe.

A buff of 30 points on his total stats and nerf in areas where he dont need stats we can get a: 100/100/135/45/135/35 what in total is 550, same as volcarona, he is trick room setter so 35 is better than 45 and he isnt a special attacker so is a overall buff, and he can be a fantastic pokemon if he get recover
Really hoping Generation VIII competitive makes these Pokémon more viable, especially ones that have severely fallen in grace.
But once the expansion passes come out, and subsequently the 200+ added Pokémon, that could really shake up the competitive scene.
Dusclops is a pokemon that can trap you with mean look and pp stall you with pressure pain split and spite and prevent toxic and phasing with taunt
Like Electivire, it's such a pity Dusknoir never dropped from OU in gen 4. It might have had a shot at some of Spiritomb's defensive spinblocking niche despite the latter's Dark STAB and nearly strictly better typing, as it has better attack, defenses, and coverage (most notably SubPunch). Probably ends up in NU anyways, though at least there it would provide a strict upgrade to Dusclops, who saw play as a defensive spinblocker.

In order to buff Dusknoir significantly and make him viable:
-Give him an HP stat of 70
-Give him access to recover
-Give him an attack stat of 110
-Give him access to a base 100 ghost type physical move
-Make him part dark
-Give him Iron Fist
Boom Dusknoir is now viable.
