I cry every time I listen to her performance of this song.
I've watched this reaction MANY times, and the Forrest Gump comment "box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get" 😂! For me, there's a few things I can rely on, I'll want to cry, I'll marvel at her interpretation, and anxiously wait for the end when she flips a switch, gives a huge Smile, with her "Bye!!!". I am of the opinion that the English language sorely lacks words that can properly and effectively describe what Angelina does, sings, feels, and ever so successfully maneuvers her way through the emotion of regret,, without shedding a tear, her voice sounds like she's crying ... With proper care and development, she very well might rise to be the voice on everyones lips for this century. Its hard to compare, but so far I think she is on schedule to make this true.

Not trying slight Egil but I prefer the Ivan covers because the sound quality is better. Egil’s guitar was often overpowering in the videos he played on.
Angelina's low register is impressive. Most singers when they go low they end just talking. Angelina even puts vibrato on her low register. Just toying with our feelings :)

The reason you can't describe the way she sings music, is because she doesn't sing music. She is music. Music comes to her so it can be given the delivery it deserves. I never disrespect the artists that Angelina covers, but most of them never enter into your heart like Angelina does.I don't think that everyone that reacts to Angelina gets full enjoyment of her.There are many that like her, and the there are the "angels" which I am one, that not on;y do I like the sound of her singing, but she connects to my heart, and actually delivers love to me in song. I know I'm not the only one. There many. If you aren't one, I am so sorry. For a lot of us Angelina is a gift from God, and she actually changes our lives.

I love to ser Ivan's face and the emotions he is showing ! He said in an interview how difficult it was to concentrate when he was playing because he was listening to her beautiful voice and playing at the same time. When he was asked to come, there was never a plan on what they will play. Usually it was in one take . Sometimes they had to do it twice because he made a mistake ! I love all the songs they played together ❤

She's a generational talent. And big kudos to her accompaniest Ivan Mendez. He compliments her voice perfectly.
This song is arguably Angelina at her best conveying that emotion and the octave change grabs your heartstrings and pulls you over the cliff. And then there is that "Bye" at the end and the change of emotion highlights genius.

It's tough to contemplate where this immense talent came from. It's like she was born to do this exclusively, except she also brings to it a generous, giving heart and feeling for the poor people of the world. What humility and almost saintly outlook she has. I think the whole world will adore her.

If I had heard this song for the first time, as sung by Angelina, I would swear that she wrote it herself about a deep personal experience... Especially the lyric about missing her mother Miss Luanne. I am also amazed that she can be so deep into the feeling of a song and then, in less than a second, morph back into the happy smiling 11-13 year old girl, wave and say goodbye. She can really focus.

I have heard this so many times and it still makes me tear up😪. Must be the age..
Its like she wakes up in the morning and says to herself, I feel bluesy, I am going to sing some Adele. She knocks it out of the park then smiles like it is just a vocal exercise and goes on about being a 13 year old girl. I cry at every performance and I am a 71 year old man.

I like listening to watch reactions to Angelina. She is an amazing artist. What I don't like, is reactors that insist on comparing Angelina to the original artist. The fact is that Angelina is better than most of the artists that she covers.So I have a suggestion to those who really love Angelina, as I do. If you subscribe to a reactor that insists on comparing our angel to someone else, unsubscribe. Angelina deserves the recognition that she has worked for. I will be damned if I'm going to let some TH-cam reactor demote her to a copycat karaoke singer. She takes great songs, and re-invents them.So if you are a true Angelina angel, let's make reactors give her the respect that she has earned. She doesn't sound like anyone other than herself. My understanding is that she's not reading the lyrics but the changes she's made to the music.
I have always been of the opinion that Angelina annotates her lyrics. She is most likely reading more than the words... she is reading the timing and inflection of what she is singing.

Ha! MrLboyd, one of my favorite cooly analytical reactors, but I saw it right there when she got you the way she gets everyone with this song. Somewhere in your brain it strikes you how illogical it is to tear up to a 12yr old girl singing a song about loss and regret and the passage of time robbing her of her place in the world...but it doesn't matter. It's just beautiful, and there is always that uncanny sense that somehow THIS 12yr old girl really understands and feels what she is singing. It's never just a performance for applause with her.

One of the things I love about her is her ability to throw herself into every song and make it her own!
Jut to put this into context. The guitarist (Ivan Mendez) basically dropped by after work (still in his work 'outfit'), no practice beforehand, he was just given a few songs to play (that he had never heard before himself), and 12-year old Angelina probably just enough time to remember the lyrics. So this was more a jam session at Angelina's family home in LA, but however, good enough to produce a world class recording, topping Adele's vocals..... who is still doubting that she is the generational talent ?

I always enjoy your reactions…they are amazing 😉! This performance is always AMAZING! What is also amazing is the casual way in which these performances were recorded. In an interview with Ivan Mendez, the guitarist in this and other sessions, he said that these were more like jam sessions. Angelina would pick a song, Ivan would familiarize himself with the chords and away they go! In this performance, Ivan said he fumbled a bit in the middle, partly distracted by Angelina’s vocal and partly lack of practice. So many of these almost flawless performances were the result of impromptu and casual sessions-amazing, no?
