@Claudiadude Koholint Island and its inhabitants are solely the dream beings of the Wind Fish. Why Marin resembles Zelda is never explained, but its not about Link's mind.
8:16 Interesting that Marin’s singing is used to wake up a sleeping animal. I feel like Marin’s the kind of person who’d sing Ballad of the Wind Fish as a lullaby.

LA Link canonically is a perv. The whole “looking in chests/do you always look in other people’s drawers?” thing totally went over my head as a kid. Then...of course the “necklace”, and the mermaid literally swimming away from Link if you dive too close (which got censored to “I said I’d give you a scale after you got my necklace back!” from whatever it originally was)
Anonymous Fellow I'm not sure that makes it canonical so much as the game having a sense of humor. It's not as if Link is ever required to look at the drawers or chase after the mermaid in-game. These are all options the player specifically takes. Similarly, you can steal in this game, does that make Link canonically a thief? I think not, because you can also choose not to steal. It would be one thing if there were story cutscenes showing Link stealing, but this does not happen. Something that is a game mechanic does not typically count as a canonical attribute of the character being played. Plus, if game mechanics could be counted as canonical, that would imply that Koholint island exists in the same universe as the Mushroom Kingdom. And that these people personally know who Yoshi is in the first place. Or, perhaps more surprisingly, that the Mushroom Kingdom is a fiction of Koholint island. But it would be impossible for them to know who Yoshi is or the Mushroom Kingdom since they know nothing of the world outside the island, as stated by the characters themselves, and, if we take the ending literally, (spoiler alert:) Koholint island doesn't even actually technically exist. (Spoiler over) so the only thing that would make sense is that Mushroom Kingdom is indeed a folk fiction within this island. But there is also nothing in particular indicating this. And it should be noted that these things are obviously easter eggs by Nintendo, so I digressed to prove something that didn't need to be proven. Much like how dying in game in a Mario game doesn't actually constitute Mario dying canonically, I doubt the player being silly and perverted constitutes Link being canonically perverted.
I played this game on game boy a lot of time 25 years ago. I found pretty much everything about it. And I still don't know about the cliff, being their secret place. This is another reason why Zelda is such a masterpiece back then on the portable machine.

Retro Game Days It’s...weird. Despite the dialogue being the same, GB LA made it seem like Marin had really weird kinks or was getting Nightmarized when Link attacked cuccos. This one...just makes it seem like she’s waiting for Link to get a taste of his own medicine via cucco attack
Marin: So when this happened, and blah blah blah..... Link: *stares at nothing* In Nintendo games I always see that the character who you play as says nothing and the others do...
Not sure if you can do this in the remake. But in the OG release you can learn Marins song in the animal village. Not that it's significant or anything. I just think it's cuter to have them play together with the animals surrounding them is all 🐱
So Fun Fact time: Marin is an obvious reference to Malon, but there's a more interesting Easter Egg regarding her. I've seen in a video that Aryll, Link's little sister in the Wind Waker, is a reference to Marin because of her connection to seagulls (or maybe it's the other way around, but Link's Awakening looks older than the Wind Waker... should've researched). The video also mentioned that Aryll's original name was going to be similar to both Malon and Marin: something along the lines of "Maru". So in the Adult Timeline Seagull Girl is little sister; in the Fallen Timeline Seagull Girl is dreamy girlfriend; and in Child Timeline there's no Seagull Girl but there is a (implied) girlfriend which is a Horse Girl.
Everyone forgets the part where marin says something about yeah yeah break all the bottles or something like that and if you get her lost she runs around like a crazy girl
You missed going up to where the wind fish egg is, the music changes to a different version when you're with Marin. It's similar to the change that happens to the overworld theme.

Great they recreated the strange marin quotes
Retro Game Days
It’s...weird. Despite the dialogue being the same, GB LA made it seem like Marin had really weird kinks or was getting Nightmarized when Link attacked cuccos.
This one...just makes it seem like she’s waiting for Link to get a taste of his own medicine via cucco attack
That song will indeed stay in my heart forever
When you stole her heart so well she even calls you THIEF.
*insert Persona 5 joke here*

9:45 so sad :'c
Are we going to talk about how the bear called Marin a ho?
@@NaehiroEnjoyer xD
Marin: So when this happened, and blah blah blah.....
Link: *stares at nothing*
In Nintendo games I always see that the character who you play as says nothing and the others do...
"I thought, this person has come to give us a message."
And that's how she started the Cult of THIEF.
You got Marin
You put her in the Items pocket to store for later.
Marin: *mmph*
Marin: aren’t you going to say something?
Link: HYUH YAH AIHH
Marin: 😒
Me: Link is a ladykiller.
Whaaaat?! Awesome! I took her around too, but didn’t know about the shore part.
Not sure if you can do this in the remake. But in the OG release you can learn Marins song in the animal village. Not that it's significant or anything. I just think it's cuter to have them play together with the animals surrounding them is all 🐱
Still can in the remake :)
@@Jack_MxM Hey! Thank you :] That's good to know😸
So Fun Fact time:
Marin is an obvious reference to Malon, but there's a more interesting Easter Egg regarding her.
Malon is actually a reference to Marin because Link’s Awakening had a release on the Game Boy back in 1993. This is a remake.
9:46 Oh boy.... Link suffer even with dreams
Everyone forgets the part where marin says something about yeah yeah break all the bottles or something like that and if you get her lost she runs around like a crazy girl
i'm willing to be price gouged for a marin gets to live ending please nintendo!
You missed going up to where the wind fish egg is, the music changes to a different version when you're with Marin. It's similar to the change that happens to the overworld theme.
