Hello Michael esme and Simon. How’s everyone doing? Thankyou for a awesome review. Y’all all take care and be safe. Please give esme and Simon a treat. I just love it when you put the bubbles over esme or Simon head and there saying something.
Lol I’m cracking up at the Esme bubble...that’s not what you told your wife! Laughing so hard. I love this machine. It looks so perfect or hauling gear and keeping you safe and warm. I would love this for around here. Nice review Michael.
That (my friend) has been a fine machine for you over the passed two years. "The kids" have sure enjoyed being able to tag along, especially nice for the "old man" (Simon). We used the ones made by Kubota (diesel) when I worked up north in Alaska. The biggest issue with had with them was blower motors wearing out, but these were on 24/7 for the most part, and enduring the most severe/harsh winter conditions up in the oil fields.
Yea those Kubota UTV are work horses!!! Did you every have issue starting them in the cold with the Diesel engines? The heated cab was very important to keep the dogs warm especially Simon 🐶
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors During the coldest part of winter, we never shut them off unless we had them in a heated shop to thaw and lose a few hundred pounds worth of ice. These were not only heated cabs, but had A/C as well. I used that a LOT (believe it or not).
Enjoy your videos. Love my 2021 Defender XT. Almost 4000kms and not a year old yet until mid November. Only problems was a new ignition switch and new shocks both under warranty. I do run 30"" tires. Two other pros for the Defender is there is very little cab noise compared to other models and no cab heat in the summer. You helped my decision in deciding to purchase the Defender. A friend just ordered a Defender and expected delivery is May or June next year. Personally I do not require a cab heater. I'm in New Brunswick and use the machine all winter.
Wow Mark thats a lot of kms for 1 year!! 😄 The cab noise is good and you can talk when driving which is nice. I'd like to move to 30" at some point but the Bighorn 2.0 tires are working for now. The wait times for everything are just crazy right now! Great to hear about other peoples experience with the Defender 👍
Greetings from the SW WA coast. Very nice machine and review. You've got a great, practical and versatile machine there. I can't think of a thing I'd do differently. I love that Rotex motor. Best motor out there in my opinion. I owned a 2005 BMW F650GS-D dual-sport motorcycle powered by the 650 Rotex single and I can't say enough good about it. Whether freeway cruising at a comfortable 75mph to packed up and loaded exploring the Pacific NW both on and off road, although nothing too aggressive. Loved that bike. My youngest son (grown and gone) is now the proud owner and he puts it through its paces regularly. Unfortunately it was the last generation of the big singles by BMW. Thanks for the great clips. Keep them coming.
Thats a great story and awesome that your son now owns the bike!!! The Rotax has been around a long time and used for land, sea and air applications. Small and powerful and pretty bullet proof at this stage! 😉
Only problem with my 2018 hd10 is a brake fluid leak from the line/ Master cylinder interior side. love the glass flip up windshield it's worth the money. Yes the accessories are pricey .
Good review very informative. I've often thought a small lightweight camper on 1 of these side by sides would work well being off the ground. As wide as it is you and your furry companions would have room. Also you and your wife could have some neat trips also. I think you have made a wise choice for your style of outdoor activities. Glad your enjoying and are satisfied with your purchase. Thanks for the video.
Great review which encouraged me to purchase a Traxter PRO XU HD10T, which has been arrived a couple of days ago. I'm looking forward to use it for different kind of jobs! Regards from (far away) Germany!
I have the same model but less miles and it’s certainly an upgrade from our 2004 Arctic Cat TRV that we crossed Newfoundland on 2x on the old rail bed from Port aux Basques to Arnold’s Cove staying in a tent the first trip and cabins the 2nd time!
Hi Michael ! Thanks for the honest review. Although I like to tease you with the argo ..haha.. I really think that this type of machine is the best option for what you do. I understand your concern about the pros and cons of a longer wheelbase machine...good in a certain situation and bad in another. To each their own, for my current needs (farm/work/hunting) I’d prefer the bigger bed of the Defender Pro and even considering the 6x6. I’m here trying to sort out if CamAm is reliable and reputable with consumers. Any insight is appreciated.

I really enjoy your videos! As someone who also lives in Alberta and loves hunting, I’d like to ask: Is the width of the Defender suitable for navigating ATV trails in Alberta’s hunting areas?
That’s a great question! I was a bit concerned about it at first since it’s so wide, but I actually didn’t have any trouble with it. The turning radius is also really good, which is helpful when you need to turn around. Overall, I had to maybe cut back a bit more brush and logs on the cutlines than with a smaller machine, but it wasn’t as bad as I thought. And the plus of the room and capacity definitely outweighed any extra work. 😊
@@TheEmporiumOutdoors Thank you for your reply, it has been very helpful to me. I mainly use it for hunting in the woods of Alberta, but I'm torn between buying the Pioneer 520 or the Defender.

@@jimmyhan89 Hey Jimmy - For what you are looking to do I'd stick with a SxS that has the bench style seating as getting in and out. I'm personally looking to buy the "DEFENDER DPS CAB" not the Limited as the A/C is overkill for Alberta 😄 The HD9 vs HD10 is also the main difference but as long as your not running tracks (don't bother) I don't think the power would be a problem. Buy a bed rack, a couple of storage bins for inside, the side mirrors and you are all set!! However, if you do go to buy a Defender test drive it in 4x4 and check for any vibration. This is a known issue with the Defender. Mine had it and the dealer tried to fix it but it was always noticeable - Other Defenders I drove didn't have it 👍
