      Any issues with the can am and the tracks? Love to see a review. We have a ranger XP with tracks.

      @@miked903 So far no issues. We will do a full review once we get some hours on it. We use this machine in our snow grooming business and it runs weekly. We are loving it.

    Cool vid, but need wider groomer;)

    • @BackcountryLife
      @BackcountryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yeah we have a wider one but the roads up at the cabin and the amount of snow we get lends to the smaller one. We also tow it behind our Skandic snowmobile

    How fast are you able to go with the tracks? I’m assuming you used low range the whole time?

    • @BackcountryLife
      @BackcountryLife  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      So it’s like a 35% gear reduction so I don’t have to use low all the time, but it does cut the speed in half, for the defender I like top speed is just below 30 mph but I feel like the sweet spot is 20 -25 mph

    How long is the trailer you have the Defender on?

    Do you have Can-Am track dps module installed so the mileage and Speedo read correct? If so what part number is it?

    my opinion, as a person born in a winter country where snow is 6 months a year, about 50-60 cm (19-20 inches) high - that is, in Russia: Such tracks are not suitable for deep snow. Look at the of the tracks - in front (and in the rear) the tracks of the tank - rise up, because it’s more convenient to hang over the surface plane and, as it were, roll on the snow, press the snow ... while in the video, the tank caterpillars, on the contrary, burrow into the snow every time , breaking through it ... consuming more fuel, more energy is spent on breaking through pushing through the snow - and this is stupid.

    • @BackcountryLife
      @BackcountryLife  ปีที่แล้ว

      I had that same opinion as you. But they actually go really well in deep snow. I was surprised how well they do and we have been using them for over 12 years in the deep snow of Utah
