I was able to snag a non-flipper fullered spear from DLT and I love it.

@@beardedgear I like having the fuller it provides more opening options and having the non-flipper solves the uncomfortable flipping when you land on the jimping. I think it make the ergos better too. Especially when you choke up and use the choil.
How to make it your favorite/only knife you'll ever want to own: Replace the g10 with whatever TI scale you like + match the clip and filler tab to the scale if you'd like + get a regrind on the blade if you don't have a slicer version (transparentknives can assist) = Done. This will cost about $700 total, but you can sell off all your other knives and be happy. The flipper is designed to be used with gloves, FWIW, but I have no discomfort using it without them.
Good review man. I bought a XM-18 with a translucent green show scale and a stonewashed blue lock side. Also has the harpoon spanto blade. This particular one has enough different about it that it excites me as something unique over a ZT 0562. You made some well thought out points about this knife and I enjoyed listening! Keep it up.

If you have a chance give the Jurassic a try. I like it a lot more than the XM-18. Less jimping, better in the pocket, taller blade makes it a more effective cutter in the slicer grind.

I actually put mine on Teflon. I know - heresy. But, I use my XM-18 3.5” in really dirty environments. It’s my goto knife for hard use. I found that both the bearings and the phosphor bronze kinda got dirty inside. The bearing where the worst. I don’t use oil on the Teflon and after a couple of months it was pretty dang smooth, and all I have to do when it gets dirty in my knife is hose it down at a job site shake it off and blow hard into the knife and dry it off. Then I am good to go. Couldn’t do that with the other two. BTW, I don’t think I would bring a Koenig Aries to the job site, just not a good knife for that at all. I have my pretty knives and they are good for that. The XMs were made for guys that do the stuff I do.
I’ve developed a love for the xm18. I always considered one, in the past, but I heard so many complaints about the action. When the gen 6 came out, I got one. The action is important to me. A flipper needs to be snappy, you shouldnt need to use any wrist. I ordered a second one from Dlt, the skinny, 3.5 inch slicer. It’s funny, hinderer made these for first responders. When I was a cop, I would have never spend $400+ on a knife i carried on duty. Anything I carried was a beater. The pocket clip got scratched up on the seat belt in my car, and used for all manner of utility applications on duty.

Agreed, the arius is a much better knife, but getting one is like getting a hot spyderco sprint. They sell out in 30 seconds when they drop and are on the secondary market at 150% the original price.

They should try to make more knives so i actually can get one! The secondary market is not open to me since everyone is to lazy to fill out a damn customs form!

I've wanted a hinderer since 2013. Finally got one a few weeks ago, and have already bought another. Im looking at trying to pick up an arius soon, a dealer I like has a DLC titanium exclusive version that I might hop on if I'm lucky. Not sure though which arius I'd like best.
Watching through to the end completely explains your preference of the Arius over the XM-18. That bee had you skeered. Lol jk I love both and I'm saving for either a carbon fiber Arius or a flipper less 18. I'm obviously in the hunt for the Arius but I know I've seen them in the wild like I want.
Without viewings the video all the way through, I have to say that this piece looks sweet and, when the whole not shipping to Australia fiasco dies down, I’m going to have to get one with orange scales and all 😄 What can I say, I like. `Now’, back to the video 👍✌️

You missed out, especially with medium hands... go forward and use the finger choil and the knife takes on all new ergos. Great review! Maybe you should wear a beekeepers hat with the netting next time 🤣
