I had a Caprice sedan with carpet that nasty. It's not just the carpet, is the padding that is soaked with whatever. I removed everything, draped it over the fence and scrubbed it with an RV brush and a bucket of soapy water. Rinse with garden hose and drip dry in the sun. Worked amazingly.

Hello Michael and family, nice job Michael. I will make a recommendation to you, all you have to do is use a little club soda and vinegar and of course your battery-operated drill brush is a money maker there. Club soda takes out blood stains and all kinds of things it's an old remedy that women used to use in the household. Also I have had a lot of luck with Arm & Hammer hand cleaner mixed with Gojo man-o-man does it take all kinds of stains out in Greece and it has a pretty good smell to it also. You can usually find that hand cleaner in the Box at Ace Hardware Stores but you can order it online. And it goes a long way my friend. That sure is a beautiful car brings back so many memories. Also if you want to re-dye that carpet fairly inexpensive you can get Ritz die in any supermarket mix it with hot water and spray it and suck it back out and watch it change the color. Anyway Michael I just wanted to say hello but this is gone further than that it doesn't matter thanks for sharing your video I always love watching. Many blessings to you and your family.

Dang - you're making me miss my old '81 320i. I didn't like the looks, but loved the strength, of those big 5 MPH bumpers. I once had to ram a maniac on the freeway whose passenger pulled a gun on me (it was in Los Angeles - need I say more?). There was absolutely no damage to my vehicle and I managed to get away without being shot.
That M10 engine is practically indestructible. Mine finally gave up the ghost at about 330,000 miles, and it probably would have gone further had I changed the coolant in time. Even with a blown head gasket it just kept on running. Until it didn't -cracked block from that blown head gasket from years prior, but even with the crack it still ran for years. If you haven't done so already, read up about the '80s BMW Formula One engine based on used M10 blocks. They estimated that it was making 1,500 HP in qualifying trim, or 1,000 HP per liter. They didn't know the true figure because their dyno only went up to 1280 HP....

Had an '83 320i that I was able to junk yard upgrade to Sport, because 15 years ago you could find these in SoCal junk yards every weekend for parts. $1100 for the car on Craigslist, $200 Recaros, $30 Sport steering wheel, $90 LSD, $20 air dam, and $120 13" basket weaves.
