I really like the game. Playing it feels like a warm hug from the 360 era of games, and I think that’s okay. It’s not super innovative, nothing new or crazy, but the story is fun, and I’ve hit relatively few bugs
It’s about as subtle as a brick to the face. He looks like he’s playing the early release/unpatched version, because those bugs aren’t present in the post-release version.

I think a first-person open world Star Wars game focused on survival where there are a bunch of different plays styles and you can create your own character would be amazing! I'm imagining something in between Far Cry and The Outer Worlds. Would be way better than this slop!

I will say this, I like that they didn't go with the popular "side shave long hair" cut that every modern gaming woman seems to have and went with the 70s shag haircut that would appear in the original trilogy Since you mention GTA, that would be an interesting mix for Star Wars

I remember vividly and we were right to celebrate. EA wasted 7 years of our time with their Old Republic garbage and the horrendous BattleFront remakes. That trash company ONLY started making decent games like Fallen Order and Jedi Survivor once they figured they'd lost the rights to the franchise.

To be fair though the rebels in the original Star Wars are also pretty sanitized for a terrorist group, not that the empire isn't evil but still, usually rebel groups like that are quite morally messy in real life.

They weren't all sparkling knights even in the oringal trilogy. Han Solo was an unscrupulous, underhanded mercenary. Boba Fett was a sleezy gun for hire. I could give more examples but I'd just be driving home the same point.

The thing is, this game sounded promising. An open world star wars game? Sounds like a cool idea! Though we kinda got that in Skywalker Saga, this one sounded more authentic. While I wasn't hyped for the game and didn't follow it, it intrigued me... until I heard about the game when it came out.

I'm so glad I didn't get this on day one. Was really looking forward to it but had other things going on that month so held off, now I'm just going to wait for the Christmas sale and hope they release some patches for it by then.
Ubisoft Logic: there is stealth a forced no concent 3-4 way morality system and we forgot to program anything else… They have so many talented artists that can be used to develop for other place styles other that don’t result in being stuck in Stealth-Only NO Combat Zones but apparently they use none of them…
It's both hilarious and sad that Ubisoft paid millions of dollars to get the Star Wars and Avatar licenses and then just lazily shoe-horned them into their crummy open-world checkbox formula.

It's another Ubisoft title where you explore an open space, do repetitive missions, engage in stealth and third-person shooting against dumb AI, and upgrade skills.

i wanted this to be a good game so badly. i'm still hoping that there can be some updates to fix some of its issues but i don't have high hopes. on paper an open world star wars game where you play smuggler doing missions for different factions all across the galaxy while fucking with the empire sounds awesome. being made by ubisoft was where the issues started
What are you talking about? The entire game is fundamentally bad. The only way to 'fix' it, is with an additional $100 million budget, a new team with actual talent, rebuilding 80% of the game and a 2 year wait.
i feel that a majority of those 4 years in development was counting the time where the game was "in the works" but no real coding or development was being done. they grabbed all the basic things an open world action game should have and then put it in a Star Wars backdrop. everything like story, voice acting, mocap, gameplay mechanics are boring and seems like no effort was put into it.
video suggestion: you should compare the 2008 IRON MAN movie tie-in game next. actually, it would be nice if you did any of the MCU PHASE 1 tie-in games
AAA games are too expensive and too complicated to make them consistently well; those glitches are unavoidable in a game of this scale. I think TotK is the max achievable game of this scale while still being good.
You know I actually like the Ubisoft "formula" (mostly from Assassin's Creed nostalgia) but after 5 hours of playing I started to ask myself "Is this fun?" and that is not a good sign. If a game fails to grab the player by five hours in then something is wrong. The game is gorgeous with all the graphical goodies (being run on a RTX4090 and a Ryzen 7 7800X3D) but aside from that the actual game is .... meh? I'm a huge SW nerd so I can extract enjoyment from most SW crapware but this game is just kind of a chore. Only character I've found amusing so far is Danka the Mon Calamari "auntie".
Well, I'm quite happy I'm sticking with the Bounty Hunter remaster and the SW Jedi games this year. No thanks Outlaws, there's just so much bugs and sleazy pre-order tactics one can take.
I just finished outlaws and loved it every second of it the game story is good ans the game rewards yoi for exploring theres no typical ubi map markers they weren't lying when they said outlaws would be a look at their new direction youll call me a shill or a filthy casual but idc i enjoyed the game i had fun with i plan to keep playing it ans honestly theres nothing you could say to change my mind

Thought this would have been a good Uncharted style alternative after the cancellation of 1313. There's some good ideas here but as usual of Ubisoft, the exeution leaves a lot to be desired.

Ubisoft used to put out formulaic but entertaining slop. This game doesn't even meet the low bar of Assassin's Creed Odyssey or Watch Dogs 2, both of which look and play far better than this. Aside from the crisp textures and lighting, one could be forgiven for thinking this was an Xbox 360 launch title made by an inexperienced studio completely unfamiliar with the hardware. But it's not, and that's what makes it so pathetic.
Having the battle Droid character sit on the ship and not get into combat is crazy

Open world third person with stealth is today’s equivalent of call of duty clones from 360 gen.
The cod/halo clones were better than this.

It's an ergonomic masterpiece... it crashes every 10-30 minutes so that i can do other things.

This game just makes Cyberpunk 2077 into a masterpiece.

I just finished outlaws and loved it every second of it the game story is good ans the game rewards yoi for exploring theres no typical ubi map markers they weren't lying when they said outlaws would be a look at their new direction youll call me a shill or a filthy casual but idc i enjoyed the game i had fun with i plan to keep playing it ans honestly theres nothing you could say to change my mind

I personally think this game would have been much better if it was more linear and not yet another "open world" game. Thought this would have been a good Uncharted style alternative after the cancellation of 1313. There's some good ideas here but as usual of Ubisoft, the exeution leaves a lot to be desired.

I don't know how ANYONE thought that this game was gonna turn out good given that the devs are Ubisoft.
Ubisoft used to put out formulaic but entertaining slop. This game doesn't even meet the low bar of Assassin's Creed Odyssey or Watch Dogs 2, both of which look and play far better than this. Aside from the crisp textures and lighting, one could be forgiven for thinking this was an Xbox 360 launch title made by an inexperienced studio completely unfamiliar with the hardware. But it's not, and that's what makes it so pathetic.
Or even expect anything Starwars to turn out good, like the franchise in general has been mostly dogshit for a decade straight at this point.
