I walked out years ago as a waiter in a family style restaurant. The manager got up all in my face in front of customers because I was serving them larger portions than they ordered. I handed her my ticket book and said to her in front of the customers "nobody humiliates me in public". As I walked out I told my coworkers I would be a local bar and they showed up after their shift. They said that the table I was serving applauded me. It was the best feeling in the world. Later after graduating the university I quit the U.S. and moved to Europe. That was more than 30 years ago and that too was the best feeling in the world.
Not quitting but retiring. I gave the company five days notice and left. Company policies and slacker co-workers made the decision for me. I never regretted it. I've been retired for 17 years now. You can't buy back time.
I have seen too many companies turn around after a person had the decency to give their employer a 2 week notice and tell them not to bother coming to work anymore.
I walked out of my boss's office while he was wrongfully screaming at me for something I didn't do. Grabbed my purse and walked out. Was even able to get unemployment until I found my next job. It felt so good, but it got even better when he called me a few weeks later to apologize and ask me to come back, I told him, nop, but thank you. Put him down as a reference, though. 😂😂😂😂
Teachers need to change their professions after so many years. With their excellent reputation, they can find a specialized field, where they can make double, triple, the amount of annual salary and benefits. Safer, happier, healthier, and treated fairer. Don't get me wrong, we NEED teachers 💕. But my mom used to be a elementary school teacher, and she was THE BEST. EXCELLENT. But she no longer BELIEVED in our Public School System anymore because of one of their No Tolerance policies. It ruined one of my sibling's life in middle school, and unnecessary. Teachers get a lot of federal holidays off that most people in the private sector do not get off. They also get off for spring break and three months off during the summer. They chose to go into that profession and they need to be held accountable for that instead of complaining about the pay not every profession is going to pay you $100,000 a year or more.
