It's not exclusive to China. It happened a lot in the 40s and 50s in the United States too. Some lady had her own black market of telling new mothers their babies died shortly after birth and sold them to families for enormous profits.
The one with Autism really got me, especially with having it myself, it’s a relief he was found along with all the other missing children. They may be screwy sometimes but I’m glad law enforcement is always there when we need them!
Same! My 8 yr old son has level 3 Autism and he's an elopement risk. This is one of my biggest fears, him running off and not being able to find him. He doesn't have the ability to understand that he would be in danger and he has limited communication which doesn't help. He didn't say his first word until right before his 7th birthday. I couldn't imagine going through having my child missing.
Emily clearly has very good reasons to want to stay away from her family, and for them not to know where she is. I think the cousin should be asking why that might be instead of hoping that she'll change her mind. She ran away for a reason, and she's choosing to keep them away for a reason, too. I'm glad the cousin is respecting that choice, and I'm glad Emily is okay and doing well.
Just doesn't seem right. The police should check where she's living. Just because you walk in the police office and say you're ok doesn't mean she's ok. Remember that girl who was kidnapped and wouldn't leave? That's because she was afraid her rapist would hurt her children.

I'm very worried about the one with Emily because she could have ended up abducted and graped ... and held against her will and had a child or two with that person and because she loves her kids so much has tried not to escape and accepts her fate or has Stockholm Syndrome . There's got to be a reason she doesn't want to see her family and unless they had done something nasty or harsh to her something's not adding up with her wanting her family to have no part of her life . I hope that somehow a detective can find where she lives and they can watch her to see if they see anything weird to corroborate what I've said . Or she could want to be with the family and maybe they threatened her saying you'll never see your kids again if you visit your folks . You could tell something's wrong she did not really look genuinely happy it's like she was under pressure and trying to put on an act
@@gardensofthegods yup you literally typed out my thoughts exactly. That’s why I said either it was a good thing she left(for her own mental and physical well being) or a bad thing, like what you said may have turned into something else. How bad must her parents have been that the one girl was like I need them to know I'm alive but I need them to never see me again. I can relate to that unfortunately.
I had a very good friend who left home when she was 16. She hated her father and her brother, but she loved her mother. She would endure having to encounter the others just to see her, but most of the time she only agreed to meet if it was just her mum. I had one experience with being with both her parents for a short car ride. I immediately understood why she hated him. He was the coldest, most ignorant, most arrogant and controlling man I had ever met. I was only in his company for ten minutes but it was the most uncomfortable ten minutes of my life. I have never met a person who could make me loathe their character in such a short time, so I instantly understood. When he died my friend celebrated. She refused to attend the funeral. I have no doubt there was more that I was never told. Emily reminds me of her. For her to run away, and to not want contact, something bad has gone on in that family and she doesn't want to tell them, or they wouldn't believe her if she did. So instead of causing more pain and drama, she's getting on with her life away from all of them.

Shared a similar experience with these families. At the beginning of the Russo-Ukrainian war, the mother of my godmother went missing in Ukraine. The apartment complex she lived in was bombed, and while most of the family held hope that she was still alive, we understood the likelihood of the alternative. Just recently we were able to make contact and confirm her whereabouts in a refugee camp. If you're a family in a similar situation never give up!

There needs to be a movie made about the father who spent twenty years searching for his son. UPDATE: There is a movie made about the case called Lost and Love (2015)
I did not get a good feeling about her at all and I think it's possible that she could have ended up in a situation where she could have been abducted and graped if you know what I'm saying and gotten pregnant and had a child or two ... And what if she has something like Stockholm syndrome where she's still with that person and what if they told her to lie and say she's doing good or she'll never see her kids again
She certainly did not look happy even though she tried to give that impression you could feel how uptight she was so something's not right . She didn't say anything that her family had been mean to her and that's why she left or that it was an abusive household . I think the family needs to find out from the police if they know where she lives and hire a private detective to find out what's really going on with her .
Having an autistic son of my own, that first story really hit home. My boy is almost 3 so really young yet he’ll try and elope. He’s only Gotten the door open and gotten out successfully 1 time. I couldn’t imagine him just running and vanishing for years. Just knowing how vulnerable he is due to his limited understanding, I’d likely have a full meltdown.

Right or was she still u see duress perhaps has a child that was kept in order to allow her to walk in and say she has a “WONDERFUL “ support system but I don’t want my family to know where I am. Crazy! Or Stockholm syndrome. 😢
Perhaps. The likely theory is online grooming. Very unlikely a 14 year old would have the resources to start a new life, without an adults help. Especially without being found sooner. She may not want her captor to get in trouble.
bro the messed up thing is that 1 girl was a child when she left "likely coersed by a older man" but now that shes an adult all is forgiven? i think the person who conviced there underage daughter to run away from home and shack up with him in a differet state should be looked into
Why is nobody considering the possibility of grooming? She was 14 for crying out loud! How did she get money, identification? She needed an adults help! It’s likely she doesn’t want to get this person in trouble. Stockholm syndrome, if you will.
My friends oldest two children were 3 and 4 when they were abducted in 1967, for 50 years she searched for them, I just like helping people, so I told her I would find them, on May 28, 2017 (47th anniversary of my dad's death) my phone rang, it was her now 53 yr old daughter who she spoke with later that day, we do know where the other one is too. I can't imagine the hell she went through trying to find them, a mother does not forget any of her children and I would do this for anyone else.

My uncles I've never met ran away (nobody In the family knows why) in 1994 and I'm 28 now. He been found in 2012 but nobody in the family doesn't know where he is. Wish we knew though.
I'm having trouble understanding this because how do you know he's been found ... what is the source of that info ? If he hasn't changed his name officially or his social security number you should be able to track him down through a private detective . Something doesn't add up here I don't know if he's mentally ill and has paranoid schizophrenia or is with a cult and a sort of brainwashed ? Did you talk to police ?
@gardensofthegods I've searched his name online and found a picture of him only when he was a kid the picture had a link to a website of California missing people so anyways I saw his name and picture on the site showing it has been updated in 2012 mentioning he's been found. He's a grown man now. I've contacted the police of San Diego and they mentioned that they can't do nothing because he's been found and not considered missing anymore and that they don't know where he's located, and maybe he doesn't want to reach out to family.
@MandieKearns-Moore sorry I forgot to mention when he ran away it was 94. I was born in 95 I've never met him before but would be nice to meet him for the first time.
We need, as a society, to hear more of these stories of dedication. When we have so many people dedicated to destroying the 'central family', we all need to hear that family still matters.
I am so incredibly happy for these families!!!! As a parent myself, I know that I’ve lost sight of my kids in grocery stores before or just playing outside and for those few seconds or a couple minutes that you can’t find them…It’s literally like I don’t even have any words to describe, but like heart shattering, stomach dropping out of your body feeling, and the relief of when you find them is just indescribable and what these families went through just magnifies that by infinity.
The last case of the boy who went missing aged 11 is truly shocking, the fact that his mother and Grandfather were able to bring him out of the country when they should not have been allowed as neither had legal right. How did he survive for so long at such a young age in a country where he couldn't even speck the language?
They were given permission to take him on holiday but didn't bring him back. They then moved around as part of a "spiritual commune" and he stayed with them until he decided to "leave". Although, considering he was walking at night and sheltering during the day, and this was in winter, I'd say it was more a case of escaping rather than leaving.
Gosh. That has to be so depressing knowing your child ran away and then still did not want any communication after reporting herself as alive and breathing well. Drugs or abuse involved? 😢
That man who traveled the country looking for his boy didn’t know if his son was dead or alive, but he had faith, I’m so incredibly happy his hard work paid off ❤️
Yes it's possible but don't you think she would have maybe tried to say something about that in the news about no I'm fine now I'm not in that abusive situation anymore . I think there's a lot more to her story and I think it's possible that she may have been abducted and ended up with Stockholm Syndrome add may have even had children with the person and it's possible that they told her if you even think about going back to your family you'll never see your children again . I know that's far-fetched but yeah we can tell something's wrong even though she tries to act fine but I think they need to find out what's really going on with her to make sure
I have a 3 year old and I teared up. I can’t imagine. Ur kids eventually make decisions on their own and you can’t stop that, but u can NEVER give up on them.

I share the sentiments of others here with regards to the Emily case: it needs further probing. There has to be a reason why she ran from home in the first place
Why does it need more probing? Obviously she did not have a good home situation/relationship with her family, but she is happy now, and is not pressing charges. What good would dredging up the past do?

You bet they do!! As a former runaway, a kid doesn't runaway for no reason. There's stuff going on that would make anyone leave. Facts!
@@leanajo754 you don't know that family. So, why speculate? Emily could have been groomed to leave with someone. Groomers would make a point of telling kids that adults can't be trusted, wouldn't they? If there was a problem in the home, she could have reached out to her wider family, teachers or even her cousin before she left. Groomers gaslight *every relationship* the child has with anyone who gets in the way of what the groomer wants. It's silly to suggest otherwise.
$100 bucks Mother had a guy who molested her and refused to believe her child. Or worse blamed the girl. I’m so glad she survived and is thriving now.
@@leanajo754there was a recent case of a girl being found and she didn’t want to go back home, but that’s because she was now an adult after being found, and was still living with the man who groomed her, and who also convinced her to leave, aka, lured her away. it isn’t always the parents.
@@leanajo754 could be a multitude of reasons that we have no idea about. She would be far far from the first teen who had a boyfriend who was bad for her that her family hates but she won't leave and that creates a wedge. That's just one scenario stop assuming.

@@miryamishot Or it could be that her parents were abusive and/or disowned her for being gay. The man that looks for his boy all around China brought me to tears
About Emily, I don’t know what could have made her runaway but I do hope the best. I can see how those worried about her could be upset, but there’s a reason, good or bad why she may have left. But most of all, thank goodness she’s still alive.
@@nanciperal7531 Possibly. Although, I read that it was likely more about previous abuse of some sort.
