@@giantbearjj2452 thanks mate, I actually have the same motherboard and riser cable as you. That is why I was asking you. Maybe you didn't even notice it was running at pcie 3 speed. If you use cpuz you'll see that the bus is still using pcie 5 speed however for some reason the graphics card is pcie 3 at least for me.
this cooler have lga 1700 support or you use LGA 1200 mounting socket?
Please check my video description. The cooler doesn't come with lga 1700 support yet, however, it is the board itself that supports LGA1200 mounting bracket. 🙂
@@giantbearjj2452 Why do you not have requested to NZXT for an LGA 1700 bracket?
@@jojodunet7973 I had requested. It takes time for them to ship out.
@@giantbearjj2452 I see, hope you share us an update when you receive the LGA 1700 kit.
280mm aio enough for 12700k & 12900k right?
Depending on your use cases. If you use it with undervolting or less overclocking it should hold well.
@@giantbearjj2452 ok sir tq 👍👍
Does the ROG logo on this board light up ?
It doesn't. It is more like a panel that reflects light. Pretty cool tho.
Total cost??
The Z63 doesn't fit properly into this motherboard, the hose gets stuck on the heat sink at the top - have you tested thermals on this build? they shouldn't be too great if it has an offset mounting pressure - the only way to properly have this fit is to have it take over a ram slot
You are absolutely right sir. I didn't notice that until I started to run cinebench and found that they became thermal throttle. As a matter of fact, I did switch to Corsair's AIO as it fits perfectly with the board as demonstrated in my recent upload. Thanks for pointing it out and I will be sure to pin this info at the top of the comment session so people are not misled. 🙂
@@giantbearjj2452 very unfortunate as I found that out the hard way haha
@@devonshimek1816 Me either. Now I have an additional AIO to use for next build haha 😄
Brother exactly how many cm is the area where we will put the cooler this motherboard
Noo f*ck 😭i wanted this exactly build with this aio
With proper lga1700 mounting which has slight diff height, will it solve the z63 issue?
Not sure about that. I would use another AIO to be on the safe side.
Think I can fit a three fan GPU same orientation as yours?
I tried the strix, yes it will fit but that is the longest card that you can throw in there
This helps a lot now. I can add higher frequency ram with out worrying about 16gb now I can fit 32gb.
Also gonna help with the temp of my math case. I have a RTX 3080 and a i910850K but now imma change it to a i5 or an i7 12gen what do you think I should get .
ALSO THE VIDEO HELPS ALOT.
Thanks for the support. I do think that you should get the most recent gen cpu considering that 12th gen has been a great improvement. But I would suggest waiting a bit longer for third parties to have better support for z690 / or even b660s in the future.
@@giantbearjj2452 probably btw I live In Japan and always pc components are hard to get
@@giantbearjj2452 this video inspires a lot of gamers but I would rather put it in a bigger case but kinda loses the whole point. Do you think J should get the i5 or the i7?
@@veirdnishi5805 Yeah please use a bigger case if you do not need some level of mobility or have less table space. In terms of price-performance gain, I would suggest the i5 12600k for now.
@@giantbearjj2452 Really funny that and i5 now has 10 cores with comparable performance with the 10850k
Does anyone know if the arctic freezer ii 280 works with this motherboard? If it supports LGA 1200 bracket by default we don't need to order the LGA 1700 bracket I suppose?
Nope it’s to big, it fits but there’s no room left for cables
@@CrysisTanker I thought since the cable are on top and not on the side, only the block could potentially create an issue
No the pump/cooler combo is to big for this board.
It fits if you unscrew the bottom of the aio
Bro there is a lot of stuff wrong in this build
where did you get the ram?
It came with most of the parts sold in a bundle from our local retailer.
@@giantbearjj2452 awesome , here still not available unfortunately :(
that gpu is blowing hot air directly into the backside of the cpu not so optimal
That is true. I had modded this with corsair SF750 which has the right-facing fan.
Can 3090 enter this case?
I tried strix 3090 and yes it will fit.
A 280mm aio is not enough for a 12900k. 360mm minimum
I think it is enough, at least with proper mounting, i mean washer mod or thermal grizzly contact frame. There are people using noctua d15 with this thing. It works because the better contact as it's concave. Just get the contact right and 280mm will be just fine. Of course you can delid also.
@@jaybee0507 I don’t know man. I guess it depends on the cooler and what you are doing with it, and if you are going to OC it. Chip runs damn hot, and delidding is super risky just to get away with a cheaper cooler. A 360mm is the minimum I would use on it. My 360mm keeps the beast tame in cinebench, but still gets pretty warm
Very similar to the build Im doing. Had to settle on a an i7 12700k instead if the i9 since the i9 is like impossible to find but I have the kracken aio and still need to the the Asus z690i and the Corsair dominator ddr5 ram wants they get back in stock
As @Devon Shimek pointed out, the NZXT kraken AIOs, due to the size of the pump, will not fit properly into this motherboard, please DO NOT use that AIO with this board. I had also noticed the problem: demonstrated and switched to another AIO which I had mentioned the problem in my recent upload here: th-cam.com/video/SzPd9q8O5E0/w-d-xo.html
@@giantbearjj2452 crap I got the aio like two months ago in prep lol. Guess I'll have to decide on somthing else. I see you went with the Corsair one but I don't care for the look of that one.
Ssd 980 pro fáil 970 :/
Please, for god's saek, set the rad as intake... that chip gets HOT under load, so it's best to give the rad some fresh air instead of hot air.
Chip is actually fine. I did a test run with cinebench R23 and the highest I see is 91 C which is showed in my other video, not looking to go crazy overclocking on the cpu anyway. 12th gen temps are actually better than 11th gen.
@@giantbearjj2452 man.. 91C is a lot. Like, A LOT.
@@slizzle.280 It is HOT for human being not for a CPU, also I am wondering if you have ever used Ryzen and last gen intel cpu, check their temp please. This is a 12900k overall.
The Kraken 63 does not fit on that motherboard. So a misleading video.
Hello, I have that noted on the first comment pinned on the top. It fits but does not fit properly.
Tanti soldi per le componenti e poi ti perdi sul case... ma
rofl, just an "average" 3500 euro build. Insane costs on everything these days
Could have been $50 cheaper if Intel put it in a "regular" box and not that golden box.
It is their flagship cpu so understandable lol
i wish i would be rich....
When I worked on industrial controllers the cooling fans were always set to 100%. Yes, it's very loud...but the current trend of turning fans to 50% speeds is not efficient at all.
You need to either use quieter fans, or more sound insulation because you need to turn the fans on, 50% is useless for a fan speed. All of my software had my fans running around 50% speeds. This included GPU fans and 5 case fans. This is a waste of money, electricity, and case space.
so you're saying that you should always have them set to 100%?
@@22Tech No but I start around 66 and it goes up from there, I think programmers should assume most people want the fan above 50%.
@@22Tech The way I have mine set, it only gets audible while gaming and it's only certain games, the fan speed for my case fans get close to 70% and same with my GPU, but the fan curve stock was very toasty. So I set fan curves for the case fans, GPU and then the CPU settings.
@@22Tech I would turn my case fans as high as they get before they get too loud, same with the GPU.
That music is actually infuriating. So repetitive and silly. Why not just talk, like a person?
