I know right. This is really good marketing to inspire consumers to purchase product! I expect to see more channels like this to pop up it is a really smart move for selling product!
Tbh I wish more game companies would fund shesez. This is an awesome concept and his channel has just awesome ideas for games and I don’t understand why more companies don’t sponsor him to do this with their games. Like Sony sponsoring him every time they come out with a new game they take a cut he takes a cut and we get great content and more insight into the game. I think it’s a win, win, win
It's great that devs sometimes join your show to talk about stuff. In general there ought to be a greater appreciation for the inner workings of games and the creative ways game devs solve problems.
This is nice. Devs are unsung heroes when it comes to their work. And they are more than happy to talk about how stuff works in their product to the world. Just like how engineers love to talk about the machines they make.
I'm pretty sure the foot soldiers and their weapons are on different layers because it allows them to animate the weapon being dropped or flying out of their hands when they die, not so they can mix weapons with different foot soldier types.
@@GabePuratekuta Why would they mix and match weapons? The whole point of the different colors is that you know what type of foot soldier you are up against. Literally every single turtles game has this baked into the design of the game. Could you imagine a purple foot soldier having the behavior of a black foot soldier? It would be confusing for no real reason.
Its always nice to see when artists put that extra effort in to make sure things look good, makes me want to start looking through a bunch of 2d games to see what I can find. Perhaps something emulated for now as many of the older Nintendo ones have the ability to disable the layers built in and I am not smart enough to code any tools.
They catch the retro game's style so much, at the start of the video I thought this is an 80s or 90s TNMT game. What cool people! Didn't heard of the game until now, and I'm definetly gonna look into it. I love the artworks so much.
I've heard comic book artists say that one of the hardest things is where to place text bubbles because its always going to obscure some artwork that's been drawn. I have had that problem with some of my own artwork which I'm sure a lot of you have to. This is a great video so we can see what's had to be covered up.
It's always nice to see when the devs are willing to do things like this. They have zero need to do so, but it really brings them closer to the people who play the game other than just "we made it". These guys went above and beyond by creating the tool for this though. That's unnecessary but of course very nice of them.
This game is all around great. The soundtrack is awesome, the gameplay is really fun, the artwork looks great and blends together very well. I remember when the original TMNT NES game and also coin-op arcade game came out by Konami (yes, I'm old). This feels like it belongs as an extension to those games and I really would love to see more by these same devs in the future. Job well done, folks. BTW: I have the Steam version.
I play it on my Switch Lite and it is a really great fot for a handheld system like that. great game overall and as you said, a true extension of Konami's arcade legacy.
it makes me so happy to see you still doing the boundary break series, i remember watching boundary break 4-5 years ago and loving it. coming across it now just short of my 20th birthday is a major dose of nostalgia. thankyou
Those Debug tools from the devs are really useful :) Great to see that they gave you access to so much stuff. More Indie studios should do something like that :)
The episodes with dev explanations are always top tier content! Plus, it's great getting to see all the different layers of this game's beautiful pixel art.
The placeholder could be also any of the four turtles rather than just Raphael, originally all four had red bands so it makes sense to use red to represent all turtles collectively in a single character.
Okay, the devs jumping in to support the show is all kinds of awesome. It's that kind of "customers first" attitude that I love to support so as soon as I can afford it, I'm definitely buying this game.
Whenever Tee Lopes is connected to a project, you can guarantee its gonna be good. I'd gladly go to DJ set just playing his songs all night. Love his accidental Bill and Ted reference, 'be excellent to each other' at the end haha
This is wholesome beyond reason. If this is just A+ corporate emotional hacking advertising then... I love this 100% real steak. Amazing video man. Kudos to the devs and your team Shesez. Just *chefsKiss
It's pretty interesting that a Pink Square that was used as dev software was left in the game! It's pretty cool seeing the developers of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles give inside imput like this!
I love Shredders Revenge and I love Boundary Break. Watching this out of bounds of this game, just made my day dude. Thank you for showing this and a huge thanks to Tribute Games for sharing this info. You guys are awesome and your game inspired me a lot.
Love this ! Always interesting to hear directly from creators the work that go into making games and the compromises and changes that happen during the making of games.
5:57 This was likely done just to make it a bit easier on the animators. They have more to work with and it's easier to keep things like shadows consistent when you draw the entire thing. Animating is much harder, I've figured, if you're trying to animate around something in the foreground. Just layer the foreground over it and call it a day! Because, at that point, it won't be seen anyway, why bother going frame by frame and deleting it?
Yeah, it's just easier to draw the whole thing, and it's practical too because if you decide to move the object's position later you can easily do it without worrying about how the cut parts will be visible.
I love watching the growth of this channel. I've loved Boundary Break for years now and I look forward to more Snipey videos and more awesome content overall.
6:15 Of course the monkeys are fully animated sprites; it'd be a much bigger asspain to draw the monkeys with the portions obstructed by the bars missing. Same goes for the tigers in the cage.
The cars being the turtles' colors but not being able to be seen unless you break the camera, to me at least, seems like a developer eater egg. Pretty neat!
I remember one of my first animation projects was done just to have parallax backgrounds and I went above and beyond and animated the project. I kind of miss doing that stuff but I've lost a lot of the motivation I had back then after all that's happened in the following years
It's real neat to see how the game's sprites work. And to Tee Lopes at the end, no, thank you for providing us with one of the best soundtracks of this year alone! Y'all did an amazing job!
A lot of these fill hanging out bits really does show a good potential for some randomized levels and extra mission narrative for added side missions. I still would love to see some beat em up game like these that offer up a quickly done up monthly mission with some added text; changed up enemy placement, and make for episodes re using assets. Is much how cartoons work themselves with re used frames, music, and so on. Just a bit more script and voice work often with the occasional new art assets has made entire seasons in the past. It can do a lot, and on the cheap, for videogames. I wouldn't even mind a monthly.50 cents charge a month. Easy for many to afford and with a buy in and gift option for others, it's a cost effective way to build friendships while helping the studio keep at it without breaking the bank of players at a cost so low they can be nice to their fellows who may not have it to spare . Turns a cost into a benefit when you don't get greedy about it.
You should do a Boundary Break for Guardians of The Galaxy. Some stuff can be found after the 2nd flashback, on the way to Lady Hellbender's home/castle-thingy. Best part is, a lot of what's there can be seen just by using photo mode to clip through the walls, but photo mode sadly has a set distance, and some areas are easy to get into with the camera, but hard to get out of.
The employees running is a bugged scene, the only employee left is the one casting a shadow where it should be, and all the other employees won't cast shadows at all.
Such a great video! Do you think you’ll ever do a boundary break for any of the Castlevania games? (Preferably Simon’s Quest 😆) I always look forward to new boundary breaks & so excited for the future of the channel

ok
I did not expect this game. Thank you ma broskee
Thanks!
Secured the bag 💥
I really enjoy the dev supported content, the thrill you lose of going where you have no permission is offset by a dose of insight.
I know right. This is really good marketing to inspire consumers to purchase product! I expect to see more channels like this to pop up it is a really smart move for selling product!
It's really cool when devs give the public insight on how they made their games
"Oh, you're just curious! Well let me show you how everything works down there."

It's amazing how the devs are actually supporting going out of bounds like this and showing what's behind the magic
Right? I'd always assume they wouldn't want people doing such things in their games, so it's awesome they are cool like that
Easily one of my new all time favorite beat em ups ever, the developers killed it with this game!
Just curious to ask a few questions about beat em up games. Do you mind?
@@AlienFan25 no I’ll answer
@@nysteponshi Alright thank you. Let's start. How would you rate this game?
@@AlienFan25 Absolutely
I'm already lost.
It’s so cool that the dev’s help here. It shows how far this channel has gone, confrats man!

well they could make the weapon disappear in their animation but with a seperate weapon they are much more flexible in general
Two things can be real.
@@GabePuratekuta Why would they mix and match weapons? The whole point of the different colors is that you know what type of foot soldier you are up against. yeah one of the neat things with digital art in books is that they can have a second layer for the text.

This is Amazing the love that went into this game is crazy good design went up and beyond on this.
What an awesome video! I didn't know about any of these! Great job as usual!
Something like Returnal would be cool for boundary break. As in biome 2 the astronaut is watching you creepyly in the distance on a building
I hope the devs already know that this was such a blast to play and really awesome for anyone who grew up with the Turtles.

This is kind of a way how I learn a little more about Game Developement when you actually see other Game Dev Stuff.
Would love to see you do a boundary Break on Fragile Dreams.....I want to see what that Merchant's face looks like when he takes the mask off.
Fun Fact: In Chapter 4 there are two black-and-white parrots, which are definitely a nod to the Mirage TMNT comic books.

I hadn't seen this game before, it looks awesome! I might pick it up just from this video.
A lot of these are interesting for the corners they cut. This one was for the corners they avoided cutting. Like... All of them.
That placeholder graphic is hilarious!
Praise be to boundary breaking blessing I have received😩😩😩
This was really cool. Reminded me I need to hurry and buy this while there is still a player base
Doesn't matter what game it may be nut cutting corners will never cease to amaze me
The Spider-Man of the Ottoman Empire simply adores the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and greatly enjoyed the Nickelodeon reboot!
I need a boundary break of Stray! I don't believe the city is really big in the control room!
