April's Pallete 7 is based on her color scheme from the Sega Genesis version of TMNT Tournament Fighters, which itself was a pallete swap of the SNES Tournament Version of Aska, who was exclusive to that game.
Karai colours in order are 1: original 2: comics/movie Shredder 3: 2003 Shredder 4: 2003 karai 5: 2012 karai 6: could be either tournament fighters or rise of the tmnt shredder 7 and 8: snes tournament fighters 9: is a aska reference from snes tournament fighters 10: comics 11: nes colour 12: gameboy
I was just gonna say in fact that Karai's colours are based upon the various colour schemes of Shredder throughout the years. There is some existing connection to her own appearences because she is styled after him but the black with red belt was the clue since that was Shradders colours in Rise of the TMNT. The white, gold/tan and grey is the colours of the robes worm by Oroku Saki in TMNT 2003.
I think the third Usagi pallet swap is from the 2003 tmnt cartoon. Thouugh Usagi is a tricky one as he appears in his own comics/games/show, and also a lot of turtle content.

the white and red outfit is probably fully exclusive to this game completely for karai, but also could be the placement for her metal metallic armors she has over the years reflective in the light, i always called her the Tal Shiar tmtn character if you know Star Trek you know who and what the Tal Shiar are, but might be relation color wise but also Ken though he wore red so did many ark hunters in Defiance game, to Hayabusamy though just similar coloration to Star Trek except her face and hair and eyes and the ref im pertaining too is Romulan, even the foot clan is like the Tal Shiar secret security force, probability red coloration could also stand for red lotus the dolor red represents elite and protection against evil demons which is represented as blue to Japanese culture and also in Kabuki theater.
i liked the next mutation it was a pretty good series and it introduced venus Dimilo with the cyan headband, they need her and Panda Khan as playable characters and also ive been there since the very very beginning me and my older brother still has some of the very original first comics of tmnt and as a big fan of Stan Sakai they need to add Tomoe Ame from Usagi Yojimbo, also Gen, Lord Noriyuki also, including Jei the demon as the boss character.

I hope the next DLC Venus and has Keno. Would be cool to give him a maskless foot soldier costume and a maskless Turtle outfit too. 2 different colors each. Maybe even the Reporter Foot Mark Dewer from secret of the ooze too. Games got a lot potential and could even go into Last Ronin and Revolution. Maybe even some toddler Turtles for the kids and the whole family.
This may be a complete stretch but I'd really hope for Zog The Triceraton. He's been an interesting character in every one of his appearances and IIRC he always dies in a pretty screwed up way. Would love to see justice for him. Either him or Gennosuke from Usagi. Zog could also be a cool excuse to get a 1 speed 1-2 reach 4 power character with the 7 stat spread, make him break the 3 star convention because..well, he's huge. Also give you the caveat of huge attack power but bigger hurtbox.

samurai rabbit is a direct descendant of the original usagi also his first friend is Tomoe Ame not Kitsune she was a friend of the Geishu clan i got a huge collection of Usagi Yojimbo graphic novels usagis son jotaro has a purple kimono, also katsuichi Usagi's swords master and sensei, a lion swordmaster, Kitsune is also friend of yuichi the descendant of Usagi not actually Usagi's friend been binging the new series at my neighbors house, not ref to Jei the Raccoon he was Usagis worst enemy and sword handle represents Grasscutter the vanquisher of evil the sword forged by God, you need to do a ton more research into the characters and colors of what they represent, for Karais movie appearance is pure black not red,
I would say the film palettes are specifically just the 1990 film. The turtles look slightly different (and progressively worse) in each movie, so it makes the most sense. Plus, both of the sequels suck, so it’s nice to forget they exist and just reference the actual good movie with good-looking turtle suits.
