RADICAL REPTILES!. I am back with a new series of TMNT Shredder's Revenge videos.
The first one is going to be covering the attack properties and taunt duration for both Mona Lisa and Mondo Gecko.
The only attack I did not cover was Fling Toss (toss Foot Soldier towards the camera) as that one is identical.
The video was done on PC to take advantage of swapping the maps to play the training level instead of the first main level.

Mona has already earned a special place in my heart for finally getting me the "cowabunga it is" achievement. So thanks, reptile girl that is cuter than she probably should be.
I always find it confusing that "flying attack" is really a dash attach.
i wasnt sure if it was a glitch or if it was intentional when i did it the first time, but finding out mondo can do his backflip super mid air has maybe locked him in for me as my new main
When I fought shredder as Mondo so I could see his ending, I was not expecting to be able to jump off of walls, and I started freaking out because I wasn’t sure that I had ever even tried to wall jump with any other character
They should put a character that almost no one knows but I'm sure many will love it, I personally would put the four-armed tiger called Katmandu.
I think that is why both Mondo Gecko and Mona Lisa were chosen. Theyre relatively unknown, in fact i'd argue Venus is more well known than the two of them put together. If Hothead were in Mondo Gecko's spot (some of his moveset is kind of like that) i would have been super surprised since hothead's last real appearance was as Kavaxas in the 2012 series, and previously, 1992 as an action figure. the dude literally has had maybe 3 appearances over 20 years.
I hope we get more story mode

Mondo had to be the easiest character to animate, everything he does is just a variant on that same kick-flip over and over.
Love that kinda balerina lunge Mona does, and the baseball slide, girl's got variety.

I wonder, have they altered Mona Lisa's cameo in Survival Mode if she's the character you play as?
Yes, she doesnt appear in dark tomorrow dimension if someone is playing as her, same with mondo in the mirage dimension.
My ideal DLC would be Muckman & Joe Eyeball as the new character and a new stage with Mutagen Man as the boss.
How do their walking/running speed line up with the rest of the cast?

Mondo Gecko walking/dashing is on par with Mikey/April
I haven't compared Lisa's walking/dashing speed against other characters yet.
I found Mona Lisa to have higher survivability than Mondo Gecko. Sometimes Mondo's ground super doesn't kill the enemy if they get knocked out of range. They are both fun to play as though.

But man mondo gecko is so much fun. He can dash in the aair and jump off walls so man he so much more fun than mona lisa.

What I don't understand, at least as this game depicts her, is why is she Raph's girlfriend? With her love of chemistry, shouldn't she be Donnie's gal pal?

@@julianemoraes9860 in TMNT (IDW) issue 109, Donnie actually does have a romantic interest in Mona but he calls it silly, but Mona kisses him on the cheek. Shes actually introduced to Donnie by Jennika, basically the fifth (female) turtle. In fact I think Tribute Games made Mondo Gecko and Mona based on the IDW characters because they have really cool interactions with the turtles in those comics; in the cartoon theyre not always seen

Their stats are wrong on the player select, surprised they didn't notice it. Ain't no way both of them got Splinters stats lol
I mentioned about this on discord and one player said it was something to do with in-combat stats.
Which I can see for Mikey, April and Usagi having 3 points for speed and Splinter/Donnie having 1 speed point.
I think Lisa/Gecko's combat speed stat should be a 2, they're not the fastest but clearly not the slowest.
@@GreenalinkTheir range stats also feel like lies on either side of the spectrum. Mondo feels like he has overall stubbier reach than even Raph or Mikey while Mona, even without counting projectiles, feel about on par with Donny (and definitely better than Casey).
@Greenalink if this was the case than Karai would be 3 stars for all.
Both at a speed of 1? Lol absolutely not, and the power is definitely 2 while range is 3 Mona and 1 Mondo

Karai is a unique case, without the boosts she is speed 1, slow combo attack/dps (5 presses) than say Leo/Splinter (4 presses).
With max boost, she is a 3 on speed.
I think the range and stats are their overall stats and not just the range of their base moves.

these characters were in the original series, Mona Lisa was in one episode and Mondo in 2
I'm surprised that has been the reception for Mona & Mondo. I've been seeing a lot of comments "I only know them from the 2012 show". I guess we reached a point where the 1987 show is too old now for the present gen of TMNT fans.
@@THEAnimeHERO Which is sad since quite a bit of what the Ninja Turtles are in the public eye is directly linked to that show. I sometimes dare say that the 1987 series has had more of a long lasting and all encompassing influence on the franchise than the Mirage comics it was based on.
@@kayokango I kinda wish we could see something closer to the comics someday but yeah, TMNT '87 with the differently coloured hairbands (well, eyebands in this case) as well as having more humour is how we perceive TMNT today.

Oh wow, how do you play on a training mode?
The only way is to mod the PC version. It’s not available for the consoles.

You just have to go to the PC folders, drag the arena file over to stage 1 and rename it as the new stage 1 file but keep a backup of the original stage 1 file.
The video has a visual guide on setting it up.

Always found it weird the dodge button doesm't do anything but a seemingly useless flip in the air and they finally addressed this issue with one character getting an air dodge. @Greenalink Would you agree that Mona Lisa is a top tier character thanks to her great range, decent speed, unique guard breaking abilities and Mondo Gecko is a mid tier because of how all his best traits have more niche uses that don't lead to as much guaranteed damage in most situations?
